Pippa Middleton is finally pregnant! Kate Middleton’s little sister is expecting her first child with her husband, James Matthews. As many royal fans can recall, the couple tied the knot in May of 2017. And now it looks like the royal kids will get a new member to add to their squad as Pippa and James’ baby will make his or her way into the world sometime in October.

And while there’s no doubt that Kate and Pippa will be scheduling plenty of play dates for their kids, their lives are going to differ greatly. After all, Kate Middleton’s children are future rulers of the British monarchy. Sure, James Matthews and Pippa Middleton’s family are also filthy rich, but they are nowhere near the same caliber at the British royals. Kate Middleton’s son Prince George gets to be king while Pippa Middleton’s future son will get to be… king of the Caribbean after parties?

Either way, their lives will differ greatly. With that being said, here are 15 reasons why Pippa Middleton’s future children will have it a little easier than Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and their little royal brother. Check out our list below and let us know what you think!

15 They Are Matthews Not Middletons

First and foremost, we are talking Pippa Middleton here, not Kate Middleton. In other words, it’s not the Duchess of Cambridge here. Pippa is in a whole different league than her sister. Sure, she married well, but she didn’t marry a prince. And she’s technically not considered a Middleton anymore. She’s a Matthews and her children are going to be a part of the Matthews family.

As much as Pippa has always wanted to do her own thing, her children will be second-tier celebrities compared to Kate Middleton’s kids.

Sure, it sounds harsh but it’s also reality.

Plus, who can forget this gem of a quote from Pippa herself? According to The Telegraph, she once said, “I have finally perfected my signature. It took hours of practicing... I decided early on just to write Pippa, not Middleton.”

14 It’ll Be One Party After Another

When you’ve got a mom like Pippa Middleton, there’s no doubt that your life is going to be one party after another. After all, the woman did write a book about party planning, even if it was very ill received. Either way, it’s not going to be a boring childhood for Pippa Middleton’s kids. You can trust us on that one.

Speaking to The Telegraph about her party planning book, Pippa said, “'Celebrate' is meant to be a guide to party planning and, as such, it has to cover the basics. If I were to write a cookery book, for instance, I would be compelled to say that, to make an omelet, you have to break at least one egg. Actually, that's not a bad idea. Or maybe I should write a sequel and call it 'Bottoms Up?'”

13 More Freedom On The Playground

Unfortunately for the royal kids, they don’t get to hang out on the playground like other normal kids their age. Why? Because they are future rulers of the monarchy, of course. But with Pippa’s kids, it will be different.

They will get to do all of the things that Kate’s kids won’t be able to do, like hang out at indoor bounce house facilities and so on.

They’ll also get to go to all of the birthday parties that their school peers will invite them to.

Either way, it’s without a doubt that Pippa and James are overly excited about the baby news. One source very close to the situation told the Sunday Express, “When Pippa found out she was pregnant, she was obviously thrilled and utterly overjoyed,” and that the baby news “provided some much-needed happiness.”

12 Less Stress From The Public

For Prince William and Kate Middleton, they know that their appearance means everything. Every time they smile, speak, or even wiggle their noses in public, the entire world is watching them. With James and Pippa, it’s a whole different story. Sure, they are household names, but they aren’t as scrutinized by the royals. Plus, they can be private people if they want to. They are not obligated to do royal engagements and public appearances like Kate’s family. They have the option to retreat from public life altogether.

Here’s what People Magazine wrote back in 2017, “Middleton, 33, and Matthews, 41, have a deep desire’ to disappear from the spotlight in the longer term. Another source says they are looking forward to settling down and ‘having children and leading a quiet life.’”

11 More Room To Make Mistakes

Another thing that Prince William and Kate Middleton have to avoid at all times is making any huge mistakes in public. Unfortunately for them, it does happen from time to time. But with Pippa it’s different. She can wear an unflattering outfit one day and people will forget.

In fact, that seems to be the only mistake she’s been making lately.

Plus, it looks like Kate and Pippa have been planning their dual pregnancies for quite some time. “It’s long been a dream for Kate and Pippa to be pregnant at the same time,” notes a Middleton family friend to People Magazine. “To share that would be amazing. Starting a family is something they’ve spoken about since long before they got married. It’s a chat she also had with Kate. Pippa’s always said how great it would be if they were to be expecting together.”

10 More Anonymity

As many royal fans know, Pippa Middleton’s claim to fame is her perky derriere. She made her big debut at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s royal wedding back in 2011. Unfortunately, though, people were paying much more attention to her from the back than the front. Still, Pippa isn’t the big name that her sister is. She’s not a royal. And with that in mind, her children will have a better chance of keeping anonymous in the future, should Pippa and James choose to go down that route with their family. After all, Pippa knows how it feels like to be bullied by the public.

"I have felt publicly bullied a little bit just when I read things," Middleton told Matt Lauer in 2014, according to The Today Show. "It is quite difficult because I'm just trying to pave my way and try to live a life like any 30-year-old."

9 But More Restrictive Diets

And while Pippa Middleton’s children will have a more laid back childhood compared to that of Kate Middleton’s, if there’s one thing that will be restrictive, it’s their diets.

Pippa Middleton is all about keeping healthy and in shape. In other words, her kids will never know the taste of Nutella slathered on a piece of white bread.

They’ll get ranch dressing dip with their carrots for their lunch if they're lucky, although it’s doubtful.

“I always have breakfast. I can’t start the day properly without it,” explains Pippa Middleton, who says her all-time favorite breakfast was “up a mountain in the Trois Vallées ski region of France, with beautiful views, snow all around and crisp, fresh air to heighten the senses,” according to People Magazine. Uh, ok. We believe you Pips.

8 Less Hassle With The Paparazzi

Right after Pippa Middleton made her debut at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s 2011 royal wedding, she was hounded by the press on almost a daily basis. That’s not the case these days. And while she did manage to garner plenty of attention for her own wedding, she just hasn’t been in the public spotlight like she used to. This is probably because she’s more focused on her private life and her marriage to James Matthews. The cameras just don’t interest her anymore or James simply doesn’t have the patience for them.

“They promised each other they wouldn’t even think about having another child until they were mentally ready and it felt right,” explains one source, according to People Magazine. “Now is definitely that time. They would love to be pregnant soon.”

7 Less Public Interest

And because Pippa Middleton is not chased by the paparazzi like she used to be, there’s less public interest in her. Sure, she’s still a household name but it’s not like she’s the Future Queen of England. Plus, she’s also had more public failures than successes over the years. All the books she’s written about party planning have gotten critically panned across the board.

As Town and Country Magazine put it earlier this year, “But suddenly, the stories stopped. Her columns no longer appeared and there were no more television interviews. Today, photos of Pippa and any news about her goings on are rare. Some have speculated that Middleton’s lower profile came as a result of the less-than-glowing response to her public efforts. The reviews for her first book Celebrate were scathing.”

6 Less Pressure To Be Successful

For the longest time, it did seem as though Pippa Middleton was thirty for the spotlight. Everywhere she went, the cameras followed her. But because she’s had so many ups and downs over the years, she’s realized that chasing the spotlight just isn’t worth it.

She feels less pressure to be successful or to even be a celebrity or London socialite for that matter. She’s got other priorities in her life right now.

Plus, Pippa has made it no secret that she has always wanted to be a mother. Us Weekly reported, “’She’s a brilliant auntie to George and Charlotte — they always look forward to playing with Pips,’” says a Pippa insider. As does she. Says the insider, "‘They bring out a soft, playful side of her. She will make a fantastic mother.’”

5 Less Restriction On Names

If there is one advantage that Pippa Middleton has over her sister Kate Middleton, it’s that she has fewer restrictions on baby names. Although a lot of people believe that if Pippa were to have a baby boy, she would perhaps name it after James’ late brother Michael. He died climbing Mount Everest. For Pippa and James, it would be a great way to honor Michael and for his memory to always live on in their family.

Us Weekly reported, “His older brother Michael Matthews became the youngest Brit to reach the top of Mount Everest at age 22 before his death during the descent. The Matthews family created the Michael Matthews Foundation to carry on his legacy and provide education to children in remote areas. Pippa has supported a number of the sporting event challenges and marathons that benefit the foundation.”

4 More Vacations To The Caribbean

I know we’ve already said that Pippa’s kids are going to be Matthews and not royals, but that’s not such a bad thing, especially when your grandparents have their own hotel in the Caribbean.

While Prince George and Princess Charlotte will be forced to spend their holidays in stuffy Buckingham Palace with the Queen, the Matthews kids will get to frolic in the sun and san in the Caribbean.

That won’t be such a bad thing, especially when everyone will still be freezing in damp and cold England back at home.

According to Us Weekly, “His family purchased the Eden Rock – St Barths in 1995, restored several of the buildings and added new luxury villas to the property.” The property suffered a little damage during Hurricane Irma last year but thankfully it’s up and running like new.

3 A Better Wardrobe

Let’s get this out of the way: Prince George and Princess Charlotte are cute kids. There’s no denying it. But some of the things they have worn in public have looked questionable. We get that they are royal kids, but thank goodness Pippa Middleton’s kids won’t have to wear those bizarre shorts and knee-length socks George always wears. Sure, Kate might pass some of those clothes down to Pippa for her kids, but we have a feeling that she might end up passing on most of them!

Us Weekly reported back in 2017, “So you can imagine how fun that will be: shopping for baby clothes, pregnancy yoga classes.” And sharing real talk about the struggles of parenting. The Middleton family source predicts Pippa will lean on her older sis: "‘Kate has so much knowledge to share. She’s a walking baby encyclopedia at this point!’”

2 They Don’t Have To Holiday With The Queen

If there’s another thing that Pippa Middleton’s kids don’t have to do, it’s holiday with the Queen. Or pretend that they are enjoying their holidays with the Queen for that matter. Instead, they get to hang out with their grandparents Michael and Carole Middleton at their private estate outside of London.

Pippa might be very similar to her sister Kate in plenty of regards, but she at least gets to make up her own rules in her life.

Here’s an interesting analysis by Celebitchy, “The reality is that the Middleton sisters sound more like the Duggars though: all they really do in life now is procreate. Personally, I tend to think Pippa would not want to be pregnant at the same time as Kate, because that would mean Kate’s pregnancy would get all the attention, and who wants that? Pippa wants to do her own thing.”

1 But They Will Get Plenty Of Royal Perks

Here’s a great reality for James Matthews and Pippa Middletons’ future kids: they get to hang out with the royals without having to worry about all of the stuffy rules and regulations that the royal kids have to abide by. They have the fame, the wealth, and the name recognition but still get to be regular kids, unlike their royal cousins. But at the same time, who would ever pass up a play date at Kensington Palace, right?

According to Hello! Magazine, Pippa once said, “It's a bit startling to achieve global recognition before the age of 30 on account of your sister, your brother-in-law and your bottom. One day I might be able to make sense of this. In the meantime I think it's fair to say that it has its upside and its downside.”
