Kim Kardashian is probably one of the most famous moms on the planet. As we all know, the reality star and her husband rapper Kanye West are parents to 4-year old North and 2-year old Saint. What’s more, the couple are currently expecting their second child through a surrogate sometime next year. So, it’s safe to say that Kim has a lot on her plate when it comes to motherhood.

It seems that everyone has an opinion on Kim K’s parenting skills. She’s come under fire for literally everything, even the smallest details. But it’s hard to imagine that someone who lives with their whole life watched by the public wouldn’t have her fair share of haters. But we don’t think that Kim is a bad mother at all.

Check out these reasons why Kim makes an incredible mom- she might be even better at juggling motherhood and life than you are! From her parenting advice during interviews to the way she handles her and her kiddos out in public, it’s clear that Kim has only the very best in mind for her family. Keep doing you, Kim!

15 She Lets Her Kids Dress How They Want

Many parenting experts recommend letting children dress themselves to enhance their creativity and self-expression.

It can be hard letting kids have control of the reigns, especially when they want to wear clothes that aren’t weather-appropriate or ones that look downright ridiculous. Kim has always said that she likes letting her kids choose what they wear, to an extent, since she says she never had the same freedom as a child.

"Every morning and every night is her time to shine," the mom-of-two once said. "She can wear costumes, which she really loves. She wears wild pyjamas. And then when we go out, she really just wears whatever I want. She makes it really easy. But we have that comprise." Maybe that’s why North’s wardrobe is better than most grown-ups!

14 She Wants Her Kids To Work For What They Have

Since they’re born into the Kardashian Empire, it’s safe to say that Kim and Kanye’s kids are set for life. By the time their parents are ready to retire, no one will be surprised if they’re set to inherit billions. And that’s not even considering what the rest of their extended family is worth.

Despite their wealth, Kim still says she wants her kids to know the value of real work. She expects them to get jobs one day and make their own way in the world. It doesn’t sound like mom and dad are going to be footing the bill forever!

“I was saying that earlier to my friends, 'I wonder what [North's] first job is gonna be'. And they were like, 'What? She's gonna have a job?' and I was like, 'Are you kidding me? Of course she is'. She will have to work for what she wants," Kim has previously admitted.

13 She Uses Creative Ways To Solve Sibling Rivalry

Kim has been candid about the fact that daughter North has had a hard time adjusting to being a big sister since brother Saint joined the family. Now that Kim is expecting baby no. 3 with a surrogate, she knows that it’s important to address sibling rivalry and jealousy head-on to help her kids adjust to their new sibling.

The mom once shared this clever way she helped North feel less jealous when baby Saint was still being breastfed (and getting all of the attention!). "When I was breastfeeding [Saint], [North] was so jealous that I had to get a little milk box and put it in the other bra with a straw so she would drink and she would drink," she said to Ellen DeGeneres. "She's so jealous." We bet Kim will keep using such smart tactics when baby no. 3 comes home from the hospital!

12 She Keeps Her Kids On A Strict Schedule

Having a consistent schedule is important for kids to have stability and a routine in their lives. When mom and dad are constantly flying all over the world for appearances and events, it can be tough having a dependable schedule. But Kim says she tried her hardest to keep her kids on the same routine, even if it means she has to be a bit stricter than her sisters.

"I'm really fun and playful, but I'm really strict on nap time, and sleeping in her own crib," the reality star told The Daily Mail. "Like Kourtney's style is where her kids sleep in bed with her… And maybe on weekends, [North will] come and sleep in the bed with us." You’ve got to have a consistent nap schedule to beat the jet lag that comes with being as famous as North and Saint!

11 She Wants Her Kids To Control Their Social Media Presence

The Kardashians are all about social media, but Kim is prepared for the fact that her kids may not want their lives plastered all over the Internet. The star has said she’s cautious about how much she posts or says about her kids online, for the very fact that she wants them to be in control of their social media presence in the future. She doesn’t want to do something that might make them feel uncomfortable.

"I also will give [North] the freedom, if she is way more conservative than I am, then that would be great, as well. If she's comfortable with herself and loves to take selfies, that'd be great, too," the mom once said on The Today Show. Kim has also hinted about the fact that North has already expressed interest in having her own YouTube channel. The star says she’s just waiting for the right age before North makes her social media debut.

10 She’s Doesn’t Focus On Materialism

Just like the rest of her family, Kim is known for enjoying the finer things in life. But she says that she’s toned down her materialism since becoming a mom. Recently, the reality star admitted that the infamous Paris robbery at gun point made her see what’s truly valuable in life, like spending time with her family- not expensive jewelry. She credits this event for changing her approach to parenting.

"It was probably no secret, you see it on the show and it's being flashy, I was definitely materialistic before," Kim said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. "Not that there's anything bad with having things and working hard to get those things and I'm really proud of everyone around me that's successful, but I'm so happy that my kids get this me and that this is who I am raising my kids because I just don't care about those things anymore. I really don't."

9 Motherhood Comes Before Work For Kim

Kim has a lot going on. A LOT. From her hit reality show, successful makeup line, plethora of appearances and collabs, and more, we bet Kim hardly has any time for herself.

That’s why it probably makes balancing her work life with being a mom all the more difficult. Kim admits that she has to be very choosy about what projects she undertakes because she wants to make sure that her family is still her number one priority.

"I cut out a lot of things that I felt like weren't 100 percent meaningful to me or worth the time that I was spending away from my family,” she once explained to Variety. “I won't work on a project unless I am one billion percent passionate about it and it just makes sense.” Working moms should take notes from Kim!

8 She Stands Up For Her Parenting Abilities

Kim receives hate for everything in the media- including her skills as a mom. Imagine how heartbreaking it would be to have the Internet call you out for being a bad mother online, and in front of millions of people. Luckily, Kim knows how to handle herself with class. But she’s never been afraid to stand up for herself online when the haters get out of control.

Back in 2013, Kim tweeted that she and Kanye had taken baby North swimming for the first time. But one fan decided to try and ruin the happy moment. “[She’s happy] probably cos she actually got to see her parents for a change,” one rude fan tweeted at Kim. The reality star was quick to clap back by writing, “U sound so ignorant. Bc I don’t tweet or Instagram my every move with my daughter means I am not…” Don’t come for Kim or her kids!

7 She Keeps Her Cool When Her Kids Have Tantrums

There have been plenty of times the media has caught one of Kim’s kids in the middle of a meltdown. What toddler doesn’t have a tantrum on a daily basis? But the awesome thing is that Kim always seems to keep her cool, even when her mini-me is making a scene in front of the cameras.

Seriously, imagine how much more embarrassing it would be for your kid to start crying in public when there’s actually paparazzi following you around. Most moms would probably break down in tears from the stress of it.

Most notably, Kim remained cool and collected during Fashion Week in 2014 when baby North was sitting in her lap front row while having a hissy fit. The toddler was having a tantrum right as the fashion show was commencing, but Kim stayed calm until she cooled her little one down. Way to go, Kim!

6 She’s Realistic About Her Post-Baby Body Goals

Kim has made a career out of her famous curves, so it’s no surprise that adjusting to her post-baby body was difficult. The reality star was scrutinized heavily in the media for her weight gain during her pregnancy, and the haters kept coming at her as she tried to work out the pounds after giving birth. Now that she’s gone through two pregnancies, Kim says she’s made peace with her changing body.

“Sometimes it just messes with you because your body changes after you have a baby, so I always say like I thought my butt and my hips were big to begin with, [but] after baby, it’s like out of control,” she once said to Entertainment Tonight. “I never want to get too comfortable cause I feel better about myself when I’m just a little bit down. So, it’s not about what anyone thinks about me, it’s what I—and I’m not trying to be crazy . . . I don’t think I’m huge—I just think, ‘You know, I got to get it together.’”

5 She’s Not Afraid To Get Silly Around Her Kids

When she’s in front of the cameras, Kim always makes sure to remain poised and perfect. But it’s clear that she’s not afraid to goof around and be silly with her kids.

The celeb admits that one of her favorite things to do is to get down on the floor and play with her kiddos. Heck, we’re talking about the mom who threw her daughter a “Kidchella” themed bonanza for her first birthday. She loves to go all out when it comes to having fun!

“I take pictures of [North] all the time and dress her up,” Kim once said. “I put Kanye’s big chains around her, and I put a little Louis bag and some Jordans, and I was like, ‘What up, Daddy?’” Being able to have fun and act like a child with your own kids is an important part of being a successful parent!

4 She Doesn’t Pretend Her Pregnancy Was Perfect

Tons of celebrities like to make it seem like pregnancy and parenthood went 100% perfectly. It’s easy to keep up a fake persona when everyone only knows you from your Instagram account and televised interview.

But Kim has been very candid about her pregnancies, both the good and the bad. She’s currently using a surrogate to deliver her third child due to health issues related to her last pregnancies.

"You know I've heard stories forever about how amazing pregnancy is from my mom and Kourtney and that's just not the case for me,” Kim once told E! Online. I'm not going to sit here and lie and act like it's the most blissful experience. It's awful." Many women have said Kim’s openness about her pregnancy struggles are both relatable and inspiring.

3 She Knows Even Moms Need “Me Time”

For most moms, “me time” is a foreign concept. There’s always something to do or someone who needs help. That’s definitely true for Kim, given that her busy schedule literally takes her all over the world. She probably barely has any free time in between her hectic career and being a mom to two (soon to be three) little ones. But Kim has always emphasized the importance to taking some time for yourself, even if you’re a mom.

Just taking thirty minutes to read a good book or go for a quick walk can totally change your mood and stress levels. "Sometimes I see a lot of my friends just get taken over by their kids and their life, and that’s great, but if you don’t spend a little bit of time — whether it’s two hours a day, or one day a week to go and visit your friends. It really helps a lot,” Kim has said.

2 Motherhood Has Made Her Appreciate Her Mom More

Any mom will tell you she didn’t appreciate her mother nearly as much until she had her own kids. Sometimes we have no clue what mothers sacrifice and do for us on a daily basis.

That is, until you have your own mini-me to dote on! Kim has always held her mother Kris Jenner in high regards. But she admits she’s come to appreciate all her mom has done even more after welcoming her first child.

Motherhood is a gift and I know after watching my mum do it, it’s not easy, especially when trying to balance a career,” Kim wrote on her blog right before North was due. “I’m honored to follow in her footsteps and make her proud like I am of her.”

1 She Supports Planned Parenthood

Kim knows how difficult being a mom can be, including the process it takes to becoming a mom- pregnancy! The reality star has been an outspoken supporter of Planned Parenthood, which offers services to expecting and current moms. Kim has said she knows not everyone is fortunate enough to have the same support she had while becoming a new mom, but Planned Parenthood can help.

"My sisters and I visited Planned Parenthood recently and learned that the House of Representatives forced through a bill that strips health care coverage from millions of people and raises health care costs, including Planned Parenthood patients,” the star once said in an Instagram post. “They are such an amazing place that provides so much to so many! #istandwithpp.”
