Now that Meghan Markle is an official member of the British royal family, everyone is doing the exact same thing: watching every little movement in the new Duchess of Sussex’s midsection. Many royal experts would agree that the key to the monarchy is survival and the only way that will ever happen is if the members of the royal family reproduce as much as possible.

After all, when you are a married royal the next natural step is to of course get pregnant, right? When it comes to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, they have both made it no secret that they absolutely want to become parents. Some believe that it will happen sooner rather than later. Others can’t help but wonder what kind of royal mother Meghan will be.

And while we don’t know what’s in store for her future, we do know one thing for certain: she’ll definitely be different than the rest. She won’t be like Kate Middleton and she certainly won’t be like Queen Elizabeth.

Here are 15 reasons why we think Meghan Markle will be an excellent mother. Check out our list below and let us know what you think in our comments section.

15 She Has Always Wanted Children

First and foremost, Meghan Markle has made it no secret that she’s always wanted to have children of her own. And now that she’s got her real live prince charming by her side – her husband Prince Harry – there’s a strong possibility that her baby dreams might come true sooner rather than later. After all, the most natural step after a royal wedding is to, of course, get pregnant with a royal baby.

And seeing how both Harry and Meghan are on board with the idea, we might be seeing a royal baby bump very soon. In fact, the media is already on baby bump watch!

Also, Meghan knows the importance of family. The former Hollywood actress will most definitely take her new role as a mother very seriously. She wants this to happen as much as Harry does. Meghan told Lifestyle Magazine, “I also dream to have a family. It's all about balance, and I have so much happiness in my career and am fortunate to travel the world and see so many amazing things — it will also be nice to be anchored to something grounded and in the same place. Raising a family will be a wonderful part of that."

14 She Might Already Be Pregnant

Believe it or not, some people think that Meghan Markle is already pregnant. Why? Because the Duchess of Sussex sported what looked like a tiny hint of a baby bump only a few days after her royal wedding. This was at a celebration and royal engagement to honor Prince Harry’s father, Prince Charles.

But honestly, are we surprised? There’s no doubt that these two crazy kids are in love and ready for the next chapter in their lives. But at the same time, Meghan Markle is yet to confirm the news or address any of the pregnancy speculation. In the meantime, we will just have to wait and see.

Speaking about the early days of their romance, Meghan told the BBC: “I don’t think that I would call it a whirlwind in terms of our relationship. Obviously, there have been layers attached to how public it has become after we had a good five, six months almost with just privacy, which was amazing. But no, I think we were able to really have so much time just to connect and we never went longer than two weeks without seeing each other, even though we were obviously doing a long distance relationship. So it’s — we made it work.”

13 She Needs A Distraction

For Meghan Markle, a pregnancy would be a great way to distract from all of the family drama she’s been dealing with and especially all the tabloid headlines leading up to her royal wedding. Her family members from her father’s side have certainly not made things easy on her.

Everyone from her half-sister Samantha Markle to her half-brother Thomas Markle have had something to say about Meghan to the media.

And as you can imagine, a lot of it hasn’t been flattering. It seems like the more the tabloid is willing to pay them, the more the Markle family is willing to spill the tea, if you know what we mean.

Also, the Markles have made it clear they are willing to talk – no matter what. According to The Telegraph, Samantha has said, “Early in the year we were asked not to speak to the public, but I’m pretty adamant about it. It was my observation that even family members who didn’t speak to the media were made fun of, they were taunted, they were photographed, they were insulted. I’m not giving them license for them to disparage me like that without at least leveling the playing field for intelligent minds.”

12 Prince Harry Has Waited His Entire Life For This

It’s without a doubt that Prince Harry has been waiting for this moment his entire life, too. After all, if there is one member of the British royal family that has been feeling broody throughout the years, it’s Prince Harry. We’ve all seen the photos of him engaging with small children and acting like the royal uncle that everyone wants.

Simply put, Prince Harry loves to be around children. And with children of his own, he is going to be an excellent father. He will definitely change how royal children are raised behind palace doors as well.

Plus, Prince Harry has been very open and honest about his desire for wanting children throughout the years. He talks about it in almost every one of his interviews with the press and in great detail, too. According to People Magazine, Prince Harry once said, There have been moments through life, especially when we do a tour abroad, when I think, 'I’d love to have kids now. And then there are other times when I bury my head in the sand going, 'All right, don’t need kids!' There’s no rush. I tell you what: There’s been times I’ve been put off having children."

11 She’s Close With Her Mother

As I’m sure many people have noticed by now, Meghan Markle only had one family member in attendance at her royal wedding to Prince Harry: her mother, Doria Ragland. Meghan and Doria have an unbreakable mother and daughter bond. She’s always been her rock and the one person that Meghan could count on her entire life. And because Doria has been such a wonderful royal model for her throughout the years, there’s no doubt that Meghan has certainly learned from the best, especially when it comes to being a mom. In other words, she is more than ready to do this.

This is how Meghan once described her mother on her now-defunct blog, The Tig,

"Dreadlocks. Nose ring. Yoga instructor. Social worker. Free spirit. Lover of potato chips & lemon tarts. And if the DJ cues Al Green’s soul classic ‘Call Me,’ just forget it.

"She will swivel her hips into the sweetest little dance you’ve ever seen, swaying her head and snapping her fingers to the beat like she’s been dancing since the womb. And you will smile. You won’t be able to help it. You will look at her and you will feel joy. I’m talking about my mom."

10 She Has A Hands-On Approach To Everything

While there are a lot of things that can be said about Meghan Markle, one thing is for certain: she’s persistent.

She’s also very smart, she’s determined and she’s intelligent enough to know what she wants and how to get it, too. Meghan also has a hands-on approach to everything, which will without a doubt make her a fantastic mom.

Also, Meghan Markle credits her father for teaching her most of what she’s learned from life. She also says that she’s gotten her strong work ethic from her dad. And for that, the Duchess of Sussex is forever grateful. Even though they might no longer be as close as they once were, Meghan still cherishes all of her childhood memories she got to share with her dad.

Meghan wrote a special message for her dad on Instagram that once said, “Happy Father’s Day, daddy. I’m still your buckaroo, and to this day your hugs are still the very best in the whole wide world. Thanks for my work ethic, my love of Busby Berkeley films & club sandwiches, for teaching me the importance of handwritten thank you notes, and for giving me that signature Markle nose. I love you xo –Bean.”

9 Lessons From Her Own Childhood

Meghan Markle didn’t have an easy childhood. Her parents, Doria Ragland and Thomas Markle Senior, divorced when she was very young. And as any adult will tell you, seeing your parents separate definitely takes a toll on you. But for Meghan, she wants to take all of the lessons that she’s learned from her childhood and adapt them to the present day.

She doesn’t want to repeat the same mistakes that were made before her. That’s why she wants to not only have a warm and loving marriage, but a secure family, too.

She doesn’t want anything – or anyone for that matter – to get in between her and the people she loves the most in her life. Prince Harry would definitely concur.

Plus, Meghan has been telling people about her pregnancy plans. One source recently told Britain’s Express paper, “Meghan and I were at an event in the Cayman Islands and Meghan discussed her future with me, and I said to her: ‘Meghan, what about kids? Would you like to have children?’ She said to me, ‘I would absolutely love to have children, and I can't wait to be a mother.’ They’re desperate to have a family as soon as possible. They’re hoping it won’t take long.”

8 She’ll Be Different Than Kate

A lot of people would definitely agree that Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are nothing alike. Sure, they might have both fallen in love with a set of royal princes, but that’s about it. With that being said, Meghan Markle will definitely be a different kind of royal mother, and nothing like Kate Middleton.

After all, she is American and has a different approach when it comes to showing affection in public, speaking your mind and voicing your concerns.

While no one doubts that Kate Middleton is a great mom to her children, Meghan will be a different mom, and there’s certainly nothing wrong with it. She will be very close with them, and of course as protective as she can be.

"The reason Prince Harry wanted Meghan to meet Prince George and Princess Charlotte was so she could see that—this would be hopefully replicated by them, that they would go on to have children," royal and lifestyle expert Katie Nichol told In Style Magazine in an interview. "That you marry into the royal family, but that doesn't mean you can't have a regular family with cute children, and here are George and Charlotte to show that that can happen.”

7 Her Kids Will Be Royals

One of the most comforting things about being married to a prince is knowing that you will never have to worry about where your next paycheck is going to come from. And if there is someone who knows that feeling all too well, it’s Meghan Markle.

After all, she is a former Hollywood actress! Now, that she’s a Duchess, she has access to all of the royal crown jewels at her fingertips. Her future children will be royals. She’ll never have to worry about their well being as she and Prince Harry will be able to afford the best life that money can possibly buy for them. It might not be an easy one, but at least they will never have to worry about life’s basic needs.

Plus, Meghan Markle just has that special “touch” and especially when she shows off her maternal side. Many people have already noticed it.

"Meghan is very doting with children," Nicholl told In Style. "She is very maternal and she was thrilled to meet George and Charlotte. I think one of the lovely things, anecdotes that I discovered [while writing] the book was, it was actually a moment involving children, when Meghan really fell for Prince Harry."

6 Meghan Already Has Gifts For Her Daughter

Meghan has made it no secret that she’s been longing for her own children for years now. As a matter of fact, she even has a special gift ready for her future daughter! While it did take Kate Middleton quite a long time to get pregnant with her first child, we have a feeling that it will be much sooner with Meghan Markle. That’s because she’s not only madly in love with Prince Harry, but she’s also ready to share her life with those she loves and of course, start her own family.

Speaking about the special gift she’s been holding for her daughter, Meghan says that it even has a message. For her fans, it’s no surprise that she’s already had her family plans in the back of her head for years now.

She told Hello! Magazine back in 2015, "I've always coveted the Cartier French Tank Watch. When I found out Suits had been picked up for our third season – which, at the time, felt like such a milestone – I totally splurged and bought the two-tone version... I had it engraved on the back, 'To M.M. from M.M.' And I plan to give it to my daughter one day. That’s what makes pieces special, the connection you have to them."

5 They Will Parent As A Team

The great thing about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is that they do everything as a team. You can definitely sense the chemistry between them. While a lot of celebrities in the spotlight have learned all of the scripted things to say in front of the cameras, with Harry and Meghan it’s just different.

Their body language tells the story of a couple who are madly in love with one another and there’s just no denying it.

That’s why there are even media outlets that believe Meghan Markle might get pregnant before Christmas of this year. And should it happen, she and Prince Harry will definitely have a lot to celebrate and especially during the holiday season. Their children are going to be lucky to have royal parents just like them – both emotionally and spiritually and of course, with their gene pool, too!

Another source told Australia’s New Idea Magazine, “She wants kids. She will be an amazing mother. Meghan will get pregnant in her first year of marriage if she can. She’s desperate to have a family of her own. For certain, she will be trying for a baby on their honeymoon – she is going to be a brilliant mum.”

4 Her Family Will Be A Drama-Free Zone

By now, everyone knows that Meghan Markle has had plenty of family drama and then some. She hasn’t spoken to her relatives in years, yet they’ve taken it upon themselves to trash Meghan with each and every opportunity they get. Meghan certainly doesn’t want the same for her own family. That’s one of the reasons why she will be so overly protective of them. She wants a drama-free zone.

For the first time in her life, Meghan is looking forward to coming home to her family and enjoying something she’s craved her entire life: love and peace. And with Prince Harry by her side, that will definitely happen.

Plus, Prince Harry has also expressed just how much his own family means to him. He also has a very close relationship and bond with his own father, Prince Charles.

He wants to continue the same traditions that were passed on to him by his father to his own kids one day.

According to Britain’s Express, Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “It’s clear to see how much family means to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and, should they be fortunate enough to have a family, we reckon they’ll be hearing the pitter patter of tiny feet sooner, rather than later.”

3 It’s Her Duty

As much as Kate Middleton wants us to believe that she’s a hand on mom, royal fans are more realistic than that. They know that she has a team of nannies, household help, butlers, chefs and personal assistants that help her get through her day. While a lot of people tend to ask the same question – as in, “What is Kate Middleton’s job?” – we have the answer for you.

It’s her duty to have royal children. And now that Meghan Markle is a member of the British royal family, it’s also her duty to produce royal children with Prince Harry as well.

This might not align with modern times and thinking, but it’s also part of the job, believe it or not. The monarchy and its future won’t survive without royal pregnancies.

Jeremy Paxman, a broadcaster and author said (via Express.co.uk): “Historically, it’s always been that there is no point in being a royal bride unless you are going to breed. That’s what you are for. You’re a broodmare if you’re a royal bride and the expectation is great. The traditional duty of the wife was to provide an heir and spare. The key business of royalty is continuity, survival.”

2 She’ll Make Her Own Rules

Meghan Markle has only been a member of the British royal family for a few short weeks now, but she’s already proven that she’s a royal rule breaker. Of course, this might complicate her role later on in life, but for now she’s doing things her way, regardless of what anyone has to say about it.

Plus, Meghan knows that she’s not like the other and that her future children will certainly not be like the rest of the British monarchy. Not only was she raised in a different county, but she comes from a different world, too. Keeping this in mind, Meghan knows that all of the royal rules won’t always apply to her and her children.

Not only will they look different from everyone else, but they will act different, too.

Also, Meghan is American. She doesn’t conform and she certainly doesn’t settle and this will definitely reflect in the way she will parent her future royal children with Prince Harry.

Speaking about her background, Meghan once told Elle Magazine, “While my mixed heritage may have created a grey area surrounding my self-identification, keeping me with a foot on both sides of the fence, I have come to embrace that.”

1 Her Family Will Always Come First

Meghan Markle didn’t grow up with many family members around her. Technically, she was a single child. All of her half-siblings were much older than her and they came from different families. All Meghan had in her life were her father, Thomas, and her mother, Doria. But despite all of the hardships, the difficult times, and the family drama, she still credits Thomas and Doria for being wonderful, caring, and loving parents.

For Meghan, her family will always come first, regardless of where she is or what she is doing. They’ve helped shape her into the person she is today. She wants to be the same kind of hard-working, compassionate people that her parents have always been. Simply put, they are her role models.

Meghan once wrote this on her blog, The Tig, "Both my parents came from little, so they made a choice to give a lot, buying turkeys for homeless shelters at Thanksgiving, delivering meals to patients in hospice care, donating any spare change in their pocket to those asking for it, and performing quiet acts of grace—be it a hug, a smile, or a pat on the back to show ones in need that they would be alright."
