Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are not typical royals. Yes, the Duchess of Cambridge came from a very affluent and well-to-do English family and background. And yes, as a Hollywood star, Meghan Markle is successful and established in her own right. They might be commoners but clearly, there’s nothing very common about them. But these two women have managed to do something that very few women before them have done and that is to have two British princes fall in love with him.

Sure, someone like Queen Elizabeth would love to hand pick her grandson’s future wives for the sake of the British monarchy and its future. But she knew from the get-go that would never happen.

After all, her son Prince Charles married a woman like Princess Diana. Her presence, scandals, drama and constant chaos almost tore the monarchy into pieces. Queen Elizabeth couldn’t believe what was happening in front of her own two eyes. That’s why she’s been doing whatever she can to make sure that another Princess Diana doesn’t come close to the royal family. As luck would have it though, there are two women that are coming close to being the next Di.

With that being said, here are 15 reasons why Queen Elizabeth apparently dislikes Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle more than Princess Diana!

15 Twice The Trouble

According to reports, it’s Kate Middleton who likes to wear the pants in her marriage to Prince William. And it looks like Meghan Markle is the same way with Prince Harry. That’s right – it’s the women who call the shots, and not Queen Elizabeth’s grandsons. And for Her Majesty, that spells trouble. Surely, she’s able to influence her own family but when it comes to outsiders like Kate and Meghan, it’s a little trickier.

One royal insider told People Magazine, “She is definitely the one wearing the trousers in their relationship. She is a strong, opinionated woman who has her own ideas about things, and that’s one of the things he loves about her. Meghan was established before she met Harry. That’s a first for the royal family. I don’t think Harry was ever going to marry a nice upper-class girl from the [English] counties—it’s just not him.”

14 They Have Commoner Habits

Simply put, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are the kind of women who love to get their hands on all of the crown jewels but at the same time, they want to do things their way. After all, their previous lives were like nothing that Prince Harry and Prince William experienced behind closed palace doors. And for the Queen, that might be the problem. As a matter of fact, the Duchess of Cambridge is still doing things like the grocery shopping on her own – something that Queen Elizabeth would never do in public.

According to the Daily Mail, “The 36-year-old royal was seen visiting a branch of her favorite supermarket in Norfolk, before loading her bags into the back of her Range Rover in the car park on Easter Monday.”

13 … But Have High Expectations

When it comes to the royal jewels, you better believe that Queen Elizabeth will do whatever is in her power to protect the monarchy and of course, her bloodline. Simply put, she’s no fool. Yet when it comes to her grandsons, it’s an entirely different story. Apparently, when they fall in love, they fall hard - so much so that Prince Harry reportedly doesn’t want to sign a prenup. That’s right: he’s not letting something like a little piece of paper protecting his assets get in the way of his undying love for Meghan Markle.

The Daily Mail reports, “Prince Harry always has been something of a romantic, publicly lamenting his difficulties in finding lasting love. Now he’s engaged to Meghan Markle, the 33-year-old has made the most dramatic sign of his devotion: I hear that Harry has rejected signing a prenuptial agreement to safeguard his estimated £30 million fortune.”

12 Kate And Meghan’s Lavish Spending

One of the best things about marrying into the royal family is that you never have to worry about money ever again in your life. In other words, you are set. You also have access to some of the best clothes, accessories, and jewelry that money can buy. And if there’s one person that knows this all too well, it’s Kate Middleton. She’s often been criticized by the media for her lavish spending habits, much to the dismay of the average British taxpayer.

The Daily Mail wrote, “This year, Kate has increasingly turned her back on high street staples in favor of designer labels such as D&G and Preen. Totting up all the new pieces she’s worn throughout 2017 comes to a massive £119,000 ($160,000) – her most expensive year yet.”

11 They Are Breaking Royal Rules

Apparently, the rules don’t apply to Meghan Markle anymore. Many royal observers were shocked to find out that Meghan got to spend Christmas with the royals last year, even though she and Prince Harry were only engaged at the time. This was a privilege that Kate Middleton didn’t even get while she was dating Prince William back in 2010.

Britian’s The Sun reported back in 2017, “Richard Fitzwilliams, an expert in royal affairs, explained Meghan’s family still reside in the US, meaning she will likely get cosy with the Queen this year instead. Although it breaks traditional protocol, PR advisers claim the gesture is needed to avoid ill feeling with Meghan, who is due to marry Prince Harry in 2018. But the move could spark tension with Meghan’s soon-to-be sister-in-law Kate Middleton who was snubbed from the celebrations seven years ago.”

10 Kate Is Parenting Her Own Way

There’s the royal way to parent your future monarch, and then there’s Kate Middleton’s way. And trust us, both ways are different and in big ways, too. Back in 2016, reports indicated that the Queen wasn’t too pleased when she saw photos of Kate kneeling down to Prince George during one of his public temper tantrums. She was trying to calm him down by being on his level. That’s something the Queen would never do. The Duchess of Cambridge also shows a lot of affection to her children – something that the Queen never did in the past with her kids.

Good Housekeeping reports, ”As a new monarch, she didn't show much public affection for her two oldest children, once greeting a 5-year-old Charles and 3-year-old Anne with handshakes after a five-month tour.”

9 And She Only Wants To Focus On Family

Kate Middleton – just like her late mother-in-law Princess Diana – has made it pretty clear that she always wants to put the needs of her family first. Unfortunately for Queen Elizabeth, Kate will cancel all of her royal engagements and public appearances, should her kids need her at any given time. Yet, the Queen has a no-nonsense attitude “when it comes to her royal duties and those of her family.”

Britain’s Express claims that one source has said, “Kate's miserable about doing royal engagements. She's happiest being a mother and wife and has requested to do less in the public eye. The 91-year-old monarch was livid that the future Queen of England would want to lessen her duties. Prince William told her Kate wants her public appearances kept to a minimum and he's 100 percent behind her. The conversation was quite icy.”

8 Meghan Is A Hollywood Actress

Meghan Markle has always been best known for being a Hollywood actress and the star of the hit legal drama, ‘Suits.’ And for someone like Queen Elizabeth, that means trouble. That’s because she’s never been too fond of Hollywood and the celebrity world. She hates all of the gossip and tabloid fodder that has been associated with the entertainment industry. Simply put, she doesn’t want to see Hollywood and the royal family connected in any way.

Yet, Meghan doesn’t see it this way. She’s always been smart and knows what she wants out of life. Director Matt Weiss told People Magazine, “I distinctly remember how incredibly smart she was. She’s a smart, worldly, beautiful, passionate person, but I would never have expected her to cross paths with Prince Harry. She’s a very intelligent, lovely woman. She knows what she wants.”

7 They Don’t Follow Every Royal Tradition

Sooner or later, royal traditions are going to be a thing of the past. That’s because people like the Duchess of Cambridge are insisting on modernizing some traditions and of course, doing things their way. She doesn't follow all of the Queen’s rules, especially when it comes to her family. Kate wants to keep things moving forward and not constantly have to look backward. After all, times are changing.

What’s more, Kate has also insisted on giving birth to her children at a hospital – breaking yet another longstanding royal tradition. As Good Housekeeping puts it, “Princess Diana modernized many of the royal birth traditions by going to a hospital instead. Decades later, the Duchess of Cambridge chose the same place — the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital — for her first two pregnancies as well.”

6 Just Like Diana, Meghan Is An Outsider

It’s something that the British royal family doesn’t like to talk about, but it often brought up by the media. Prince Harry’s soon to be wife is an outsider, regardless of how you want to say it. That’s because she’s half African-American and was brought up in Los Angeles, California.

The Irish Times writes, "Outsiders who try to change the family get chewed up and spat out by the machine. Frankly, great change, even in the lifetime of the generation of younger royals, seems unlikely. For a start, Markle’s fiance, Prince Harry, might have grown up to be a likable, charismatic young man, who talks openly about mental health and the challenges of royal life. But, for all that, he has known nothing but eye-watering privilege in a family that is the antithesis of diverse.”

5 They Are Media Celebrities

Love them or hate them, there’s no denying that the British royal family is going anywhere, anytime soon. They are here to stay. And as a result, they’ve been made into huge media celebrities, much to Queen Elizabeth’s dismay. That’s because Prince William, Prince Harry, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle love to rub elbows with the Hollywood elite. And just like Princess Diana, Kate and Meghan love it when the celebrity spotlight is on them, too. Some would say that it comes with the territory, others would say it’s an added plus to being a royal.

As a matter of fact, Vogue points out that most of the young royals’ friends these days are celebrities. From David and Victoria Beckham to Barack and Michelle Obama, the young royals certainly have friends in very high places.

4 They Play Up To The Cameras

And just as Kate and Meghan love being in the spotlight, they love it when all of the cameras are on them, too. In other words, they ham it up to the cameras whenever they are on the red carpet. The two women love the attention they get from the media, much like Princess Diana did while she was still married to Prince Charles. And for Queen Elizabeth, this has always been a big problem for her.

As the Daily Mail likes to point out, “When Diana was alive, the Queen’s friend says, ‘she felt the pretty girl was a misfit who didn’t quite contribute to the things they did and what they wanted her to do in the family. There was no real compatibility. Initially she was sympathetic, but later on I don’t think she felt sorry for her, not really.’”

3 Kate Doesn’t Work As Much

Here’s a huge issue that Queen Elizabeth has with Prince William’s wife, Kate Middleton: she doesn’t do as much work as the rest of the royal family. And for Her Majesty, it’s a huge problem. The International Business Times wrote that year after year Kate Middleton always clocks in the least amount of working hours, compared to the rest of the royal family.

While Kate Middleton has never made any public comments about her lack of work ethic (and it’s doubtful that she ever will), she hasn’t made any real efforts to step it up in that department, either. But then again, Meghan Markle is about to enter the royal work force. Watch this space. We have a feeling that we’ll be seeing fireworks soon from both of these women at the same time.

2 Queen Elizabeth Is Worried About The Future

A lot of people think that Queen Elizabeth is worried about the future. That’s because her two grandsons and their partners aren’t doing a good job, public relation wise. They are supposedly screwing up more than anything else.

The Daily Mail reported back in 2017, “The Queen is said to have been irritated by the running of the junior households and feels that William and Harry have been given poor advice and left exposed to criticism. It is understood that Buckingham Palace courtiers did not feel fully informed over William and Harry’s ITV documentary about Diana, which again generated huge publicity. And there is said to be concern among senior royals that the stream of emotive statements issued by the princes about their mental well being has got out of hand.”

1 Did They Marry For Fame?

Let’s face it: there will only be one Queen Elizabeth in this world. And there’s a good chance that Her Majesty simply feels that Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle just aren’t good enough royals. Also, there’s a strong possibility that she might believe that they married for fame. After all, it took William ten years to propose to Kate. And Harry sure did move fast in his romance with Meghan, right?

Did Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle pursue Prince William and Prince Harry for fame? We may never know the answer to that. But what we do know is that they are in it to win it. Meghan Markle, for instance, wants to make a difference in this world. According to Brainy Quotes, she said, “Who you are as a person will only be amplified once you are 'famous,' so if you had a good heart, then I would imagine you'll have the same good heart but the means to do even more with it.”
