Chrissy Teigen, born Christine Diane Teigen, was born on November 30, 1985, in Delta Utah to Ron Teigen Sr, who is of Norwegian descent, and Vilailuck Teigen, who is of Thai descent. Her father worked as an electrician while she was growing up which caused them to move around a lot. After living in Hawaii, Idaho, and Snohomish, Washington, the family finally decided to settle down when Chrissy was a teenager in Huntington Beach, California. That was where she was discovered while working in a surf shop.

She got her first gig as an IGN Babe in 2004 and later became a substitute model on Deal or No Deal from 2006-2007. It wasn’t until 2010 when she would make her official debut in the annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

She would first meet her future husband, John Legend, while filming for his music video, Stereo, in 2007. John would go on to pop the question in 2011, and they would later marry on September 14, 2013, in Como Italy.

Teigen has always been opened about her troubles with fertility. It was through IVF treatments that she would become pregnant with her first child, Luna Simone Stephens, in 2015 and then later again in 2017 with her second child, a son.

It wasn’t until Teigen took to Twitter on January 30, 2017, to clear up the whole misunderstanding, that the rumors finally settled down. She explained to her fans:

"Since this is coming up again, I said our next baby would be a boy because that is the embryo we have left. A boy. So. Yeah. And no, I am not pregnant."

Sadly, there were some people out there that would rather blab at the mouth, then actually read up on her and find out the facts. One fan had this to say to her on Twitter:

“Did you give it a minute to try naturally or are you avoiding the act?”

People can be so cruel. Teigen had the perfect response though that left fans in awe of her. E! Online says she responded by tweeting back this:

7 John Once Broke Up With Teigen (It Lasted 1 Day)

When it comes to celebrity and marriages, it seems like a lot of couples are breaking up left and right. It seems like it is a common practice to get married after just a few short months of dating in Hollywood. Some couples are lucky enough to last, some don’t even make it a year before calling it quits.

Even Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have had their troubles in paradise, even though their breakup didn’t last long.

According to Huffingtonpost.com, Chrissy Teigen opened up, in a December issue of Cosmopolitan, on how John Legend called it quits once early on in their relationship. She goes on to explain during her interview:

“I was on tour with him and he’d gotten sick. He was feeling really bummed and stressed out. He was like, ‘I can’t be in a relationship right now.’ That lasted for one day. Literally, a day. I knew it came from a place other than us not working ... I always joke, ‘Remember when you tried to break up with me?’ He’s like, ‘Yes, sorry. Big mistake.’”

That’s right folks, the breakup only lasted a day.

Teigen being the sweetheart she is, obviously took Legend back. Since then, they have been living the fairy tale happily ever after together.

6 John's Proposal Was Almost Ruined

When asked about John Legend’s proposal to now-wife, Chrissy Teigen, Legend explained that thanks to airport security, it almost didn’t happen. It was during Oprah’s show, “Oprah’s Next Chapter,” that John Legend would explain how he planned to pop the question to Chrissy on a trip to the Maldives in December 2011. According to Huffingtonpost.com, legend had this to say to Oprah:

“I knew I was going to propose by then, so I was planning it a couple months in advance, and I was trying to hide the ring in my bag, and she can see everything in my bag — I don’t hide stuff from her — so I had to put it in a nondescript box that she wouldn’t question.”

It was at the airport that his plans for the perfect proposal almost came to an abrupt halt. He was at the terminal and airport security stopped him to go through his carry-on bag. As they were going through his bag, he started to panic that they would open the box carrying his future bride's engagement ring. He had this to say in his interview with Oprah, according to Huffington Post:

“Chrissy was standing right next to me and I was, like, oh, my God. I’ve hidden it so well this whole time. Now as we’re just about to get to the Maldives she’s going find out I have a ring in this box and it’s going to ruin the surprise and I’ll have to get on my knees in the airport in front of security.”

When Oprah asked what he did, he responded:

“For some reason, they decided not to look in the box,” Legend says. “They just didn’t look.”

Phew, that was a lucky break for him.

"I did cry when I heard it. I'm emotional, but I really don't cry at things like that but yeah it's beautiful and lives it's pretty unreal." Legend later announced to E! News that he would also be singing the song to her at their wedding.

While doing an interview with Yahoo Music, Legend explained how the entire album, “Love in the Future,” had a meaning. He had this to say about his album:

“The album is like the beginning of a relationship and seeing where it's going to go. Obviously, I'm getting married, so it had some autobiographical relevance to me."

When it comes to baby showers, Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner really know how to play an extravagant event, according to People.com. Chrissy Teigen couldn’t have asked for a better one, even though she is not a fan of them in the first place.

After her baby shower, she took to social media to write this message, “I am crazy super anti-baby showers for myself. Opening gifts in front of people makes me want to die. Receiving gifts makes me very uncomfortable because I feel blessed to the max already and I really hate writing thank you cards with my poor penmanship.”

Some of her guests included couples like Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West, Brooklyn Decker and Andy Roddick and Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Justin Mikita.

She went on to write on social media, "But people I love trick me with dinner invites and they happen. Thank you to all friends on both coasts, for knowing me exactly. A mellow night of dinner. Cake. And love. That is all I could ever want for a perfect night."

1 Chrissy Teigen's Mom Lives With Them

When it comes to Chrissy Teigen’s home life, she is very open with all her fans across all the different social media platforms. One fact that her fans are most likely familiar with, according to Popsugar.com, is that her funny and caring mother, Vilailuck, lives with Chrissy and John.

What makes it a little weird though is that her mother is happily married to Chrissy’s dad, Ron, who does not live with them.

During an interview with Us Weekly, Chrissy addressed her living arrangements and even made a joke about her father’s mysterious presence. In the interview, she explains how her parents are together, happily married, but live separately so Vilailuck can help Teigen with her daughter, Luna.

When asked where her dad is, Chrissy informed everyone that Ron only lives 10 minutes away and comes by every day to visit. She added, "It just works for them. It's a good family life.
