Kate Middleton has done it a third time: the Duchess of Cambridge just gave birth to her third royal baby. And yes, she did look very regal (as well as incredible) only a few short hours after pushing her baby out into this world. Seriously, we don’t know of many people on this planet who can look as good as Kate Middleton right after giving birth. Talk about the royal touch!

When the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announced their pregnancy late last year, a lot of people across the pond were shocked. First, it was because Kate is the first member of the royal family since Queen Elizabeth to have more than two children. Second, a lot of people thought that with Prince George and Princess Charlotte, the Cambridges already felt complete as a family. Clearly, that wasn’t the case at all. Little did we know that William and Kate had even more babies on their minds!

Now that the baby is here, royal fans want to know everything about the birth, how mother and child are doing, and of course, how the family is coping at home. Luckily, we’ve got the scoop right here for you. Here’s everything you need to know about Kate Middleton and the birth of her third baby. Check out our list below and let us know what you think!

15 The Baby’s Name

It took almost a week for Prince William and Kate Middleton to finally name their third born. After much deliberation, speculation, and probably even a lot of research, the royal couple finally settled on a name:

Prince Louis Arthur Charles.

As a matter of fact, a lot of people figured that the name "Arthur" would fit in there somewhere, but are pleasantly surprised to hear that they named him Prince Louis. It has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? We have a feeling that Prince Louis will make a great trio alongside his older siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their son Louis Arthur Charles,” Kensington Palace announced Friday morning, according to Page Six. “The baby will be known as His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Cambridge.”

14 The Duchess Had A Fast Delivery

Believe it or not, Kate Middleton likes to do things fast. While a lot of mothers out there have been in labor as long as 24 hours (and we are not kidding either), Kate likes to push out those royal babies in less than 10 hours flat. Her third child came out at a record 5 hours. They almost immediately got dressed, posed for photographers, and went straight home after the birth of Prince Louis.

People Magazine said, “William and Kate posed for photographs with their new, as-of-now unnamed son for a few minutes before returning inside the hospital to grab his car seat. They then exited again to enter their car and drive home. Kate sat in the back with the baby while William drove the family home, where big brother and big sister George and Princess Charlotte were waiting.”

13 He’s The Biggest Baby To Be Born In 100 Years

Here’s another fun fact for royal fans: Prince William and Kate Middleton’s third baby is the biggest baby to be born in the British royal family in over a century. Talk about good, strong genes!

Considering the baby’s size at birth, we are even more amazed at how fast Kate Middleton pushed him out.

We won’t deny it – she does look like she’s in great shape, right?

OK magazine writes, "Prince George and Princess Charlotte's baby brother weighs more than both of his siblings, which makes him the biggest royal baby in over 100 years. When George was born he weighed 8lbs 6oz, just one ounce less than his newborn baby brother. It is reported Kate endured the longest labor out of her three children when she gave birth to her oldest child.

12 Kate Middleton Paid Tribute To Princess Diana Again

Kate Middleton not only paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth with her accessories on the day she gave birth, but she also gave a nod to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana by wearing red, too. As a matter of fact, a lot of people thought they were seeing double when they saw Kate stepping outside of the hospital looking a lot like Prince William’s mother when she gave birth to Prince Harry. And needless to say, she looked stunning!

People Magazine reported, “Kate channeled her late mother-in-law while debuting her second son to the world in a red dress with a white Peter Pan collar (shop a similar style here). Nearly 34 years ago, when Princess Diana presented Prince Harry to the public, she also wore a red outfit featuring a white Peter Pan collar.”

11 Prince George Wasn’t Having Any Of It

Hey, it’s not easy being the future King of England, dealing with all the paparazzi attention and trying to make room for a new baby brother, ok? A lot of people say that Prince George looked rather grumpy while he was on his way to visit the new prince at the hospital. And who can blame him?

All he wanted to do was stay at home and watch Fireman Sam, yet his sister Princess Charlotte was there waving to the crowd like she’s the next one in line to the throne.

The Standard UK wrote, “And while four-year-old George looked appeared unimpressed with the assorted media and royal watchers gathered outside the Lindo Wing, his little sister lapped it up. She initially waved enthusiastically as she walked down the street towards the door holding hands with her dad. Then, as she reached the top of the stairs, she showed off her Royal credentials by turning round to give the crowd one last greeting.”

10 Speaking Of The Name…

While I’m sure that there are a lot of things that can be said about Prince William, there’s no denying that he’s a jokester just like his brother, Prince Harry. Before the name Prince Louis was revealed, William hinted that he and Kate wanted a “strong” name for their third child. But no, he wasn’t talking about the baby’s real name as he had another one in mind, instead.

Here’s what the Daily Mail has to say, “While the nation waits to find out what the baby prince of Cambridge will be called, William returned to royal duties today by joining Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at an Anzac Day service in London. As William met Sir Jerry Mateparae, New Zealand High Commissioner to the UK in Westminster Abbey, the Dean of Westminster joked about the eagerly anticipated name, saying: 'Jerry would like it to be Jerry.' William replied: 'Jerry's a strong name.'”

9 Mom And Baby Left The Hospital Early

In the United States, many mothers and their newborns typically stay in the hospital for at least 48 hours after the birth of the baby. This is because medical professionals want to make sure that both mother and child have the utmost care before going home. Of course, every country and their health care is different. In some European countries moms and babies can stay up to a week in the hospital or go home as they choose.

According to the Daily Mail,

one of the reasons why William and Kate decided to go home early is because they didn’t want to disrupt the other patients at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Sure, royal baby Prince Louis was just born, but there are plenty of other moms about to give birth, too! What’s more, they also felt that the media reporters outside were a huge, unnecessary distraction for the other hospital patients.

8 Kate Looked Absolutely Fantastic

We always knew that Kate Middleton was a gorgeous woman and that motherhood only adds to her beauty. Seriously, the Duchess of Cambridge is at her prime whenever she is pregnant and glowing! But Kate really knocked it out of the woods when she appeared at the steps of the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s hospital looking like she just got done with a runway show. Simply put, she looked amazing!

According to Harper’s Bazaar, Kate’s stylist Amanda Cook Tucker paid her a special visit at the hospital. They wrote, “Cook Tucker was reportedly the second person, other than the doctor, to meet Prince George when he was born back in 2013. Most moms get more than seven hours in the hospital after giving birth, and when they do finally get out, they're not greeted by hundreds of cameras and the eyes of the entire world. So it's no wonder that Middleton wanted her hair to look pristine.”

7 Prince William Is Already Getting No Sleep

The third royal baby, Prince Louis, has only been home for less than a week, but it looks like Prince William is having a hard time adjusting to his new sleepless schedule again. As a matter of fact, the royal father-of-three looked like he was snoozing at his first royal event at Westminster Abbey post-baby.

The poor lad could barely keep his eyes open!

According to Harper’s Bazaar, “Like all parents post-delivery, the Duke of Cambridge looked a bit tired after his first few days with the new addition.A video from the ceremony appeared to show the father-of-three having trouble keeping his eyes open during the service. In the full footage from the event, he was seen fidgeting and blinking frequently, and putting his head down for brief moments at a time.”

6 Everyone Is Already Bonding At Home

Reports have indicated that right after Prince William and Kate Middleton made their great getaway from the hospital, they headed to Kensington Palace for some much needed rest and relaxation. And who can blame them? It seemed like half of London was outside of the hospital trying to get a glimpse of the new royal baby. Well luckily, the royal couple along with their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte are all peacefully bonding at home. What’s more, both George and Charlotte couldn’t wait to meet their little sibling Prince Louis as soon as possible, too!

George and Charlotte were with the baby for 25 minutes and were very excited to meet their new sibling,” one source close to the situation told Us Weekly. “It’s unlikely they’ll be asleep when William and Kate arrive home. They’ll be up all night, excited about their new brother.

5 He Will Soon Meet The Queen

You’re not officially a member of the royal family until you’ve met the Queen, right? According to reports, Queen Elizabeth will be meeting with the young little star of the royal family as William and Kate settle into their new routine at Kensington Palace.

Also, a lot of people didn’t seem to notice Kate Middleton’s subtle nod to Queen Elizabeth right after she gave birth.

Here’s what People Magazine has to say, “The royal mom of three chose to wear Queen Elizabeth’s stunning diamond and pearl drop earrings as she stepped out for the royal baby’s public debut. On loan from the Queen, the earrings are one of Kate’s favorites. She has worn them on several occasions, including during a 2016 visit to the Mauritshuis gallery in Holland, where she viewed the iconic painting, ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring.’”

4 Grandma Carole Middleton Was There, Too!

For those of you wondering, yes Carole Middleton is just as important as Queen Elizabeth, especially when it comes to helping out with the royal babies. Carole is one family member who takes her grandmother duties very seriously and has been there to help every step of the way.

The Daily Mail reports, “Kate's family – including proud grandparents Michael and Carole Middleton, her sister Pippa and brother James – have all pitched in to help and been to Kensington Palace to have a cuddle with the new arrival.”

She’s been popping in and out of Kensington Palace, helping with George and Charlotte. Kate already has nanny Maria, who is fantastic, but Carole’s been an amazing second pair of hands." Another royal source told The Sun. “She’s not staying at the palace, but is helping out hugely.”

3 A ‘Normal’ Life At Kensington Palace

If there’s one thing that Kate Middleton has been trying to do, it’s give her children a life that is completely normal and down to earth. Sure, they might be future leaders of the British monarchy but at the same time,

Kate is striving to make sure that her children grow up in a happy home with plenty of family members and friends behind palace doors.

The Independent wrote, “William's brother Prince Harry and fiancée Meghan Markle have also met the new arrival behind closed doors, while his other set of grandparents will be integral over the coming months. At one stage, Carole moved in with Kate and William to support their growing family, and she will have her hands full as her other daughter is due to give birth at the end of this year.”

2 He Has A New Cousin On The Way

Prince Louis has just been born, and it looks like he already has one very special future play date partner on the way! That’s right: Kate Middleton’s sister, Pippa Middleton, is expecting her first child. She visited her new nephew at Kensington Palace shortly after his arrival. She couldn’t wait to meet him!

According to The Independent, “The 33-year-old party planner, who is reportedly expecting her first child, was pictured making her way through the gates of Kensington Palace on Tuesday to meet the new arrival.”

It’s pretty clear that Pippa Middleton wants to get all of the hands-on experience she can get before her own baby arrives. Talk about exciting times for the Middleton family! We can’t wait to see photos of future play dates at Kensington Palace.

1 He Will Be Making Appearances Soon

Right now we don’t know if the new prince will be accompanying his parents and siblings to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding in May.

But seeing how both George and Charlotte will most likely be there, there’s a good chance that their little brother might get to join in on the festivities, too!

According to The Today Show, “Harry will marry American actress Meghan Markle on May 19 inside St. George’s Chapel on the grounds of Windsor Castle. Invitations to about 600 guests were mailed out last year. In addition, about 1,000 selected members of the public will also get a chance to spend the day on castle grounds.

We will also get to see the adorable prince at his christening in about two months time. Watch this space for more details to come!
