Love them or hate them, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are one of the most sought-after couples in Hollywood. And they have, perhaps, the most interestingly cultured brood of kiddos in Hollywood. Regardless of what you think of their parents, these kids are surely unique and leave us wanting to know more.

With three biological and three adopted children, this cultured clan is a mix of personalities, ethnicities, looks, desires, and more. Although each of the kids has had some type of part in a movie, none are looking to follow in their famous parents' footsteps.

In fact, they are all interested in pursuing completely different avenues than their parents - and each other. They've all grown up together, yet they couldn't be more different from each other.

They've made headlines for charity work, for being "out of control", as some past nannies have said, and for simply being adorable. Brad and Angelina's kids have also been some of the most coveted to snap photos of, with millions of dollars offered to the couple for exclusive photos of their kids.

What makes these kids so special? Aside from their parents being ridiculously popular superstars in Hollywood, the kids are truly unique. They seem to have a zest for life and a special chemistry with each other that makes us gravitate to them.

And, even though they're always in the public eye, it seems like there is always something new to learn about them. We guarantee that some of these tidbits will even be news to their biggest fans!

15 None Of Them Wants To Act

You might think that, with their parents' acting talents, at least one or two of the Brangelina clan would want to act. In fact, it's just the opposite. It seems that, while some of the kids have tested out their acting chops in small movie roles, they're all veering away from being in the spotlight. Well, with acting anyway.

All of Brad and Angelina's kids have grown up in the acting world. They have been on set with their famous parents. Perhaps that's why all six of them are choosing to create their own paths, so they don't end up in the shadow of their parents.

It's clear that each child has specific interests and they're determined to be who, and what, they want to be. From deejaying to producing to photography, it looks like the kids' interests will surely provide them fame and fortune one day, just not as actors or actresses.

14 All Of The Kids Were Born Outside Of The U.S.

You probably already know that Angelina and Brad's adopted children were born in different countries. If not, here's the brief rundown:

Angelina adopted Maddox first, from Cambodia, in 2002. Then came Zahara, born in Ethiopia and adopted by Angelina in 2005. Finally, Vietnam-born Pax, adopted by Angelina in 2007, was welcomed into the family. Brad ended up adopting all three of these children later, since there are laws in some countries against unmarried couples adopting children together.

But, Brad and Angelina's biological children were also all born outside of the United States. Angelina delivered Shiloh in Namibia in 2006 to avoid the media frenzy that was sure to encircle the couple in the United States. In 2008, Angelina gave birth to the twins, Knox and Vivienne, in France, for much the same reason: to have a more private birth in one of her favorite locations.

13 All Of Them Are Learning Different Languages

This group of kids are known for being quite cultured. Angelina, after all, has been involved in charities all over the world, like UNICEF, Cinema for Peace, ONE Campaign, and Women in the World Foundation. She’s travelled to countless countries for charity work, and her children sometimes come along for the ride.

It’s no wonder, then, that her kids are interested in culture and want to study the languages of the world. What’s truly amazing, though, is that each child is learning a different language than his or her siblings!

Shiloh is learning a language of Cambodia known as Khmai. Pax is learning the language of his native country, Vietnamese. Maddox is learning both German and Russian. Zahara is interested in learning French, and can speak some already. Knox is taking on sign language, and his sister, Vivienne has begun studying Arabic!

12 They Have A Lot Of Freedom

Brad, Angelina, and their kids have been in the spotlight quite a bit in recent years over their parenting tactics. Some former nannies and other people close to the family have, reportedly, come forward to let the world know how just how much freedom the kids have – and why they don’t believe it’s a good thing.

Who knows how much of what is said is actually true, but it’s coming from more than one source. And, Angelina has admitted in interviews to allowing her children a lot of freedom. The media suggests that Brad and Angelina’s parenting methods were very different from each other’s, with Brad wanting to reel the kids in a bit more than his wife, and this is part of what led to the demise of the couple.

Past nannies have said that the kids ignore rules and basically muster up chaos most days. At some points, it’s reported that Angelina and Brad hired a nanny for each of the children to help them.

11 Maddox Helped Produce His Parents' Movie

It appears that Maddox wants to have more of a role behind the scenes of movies than in front of them like his parents do. When he was 13 years old, Maddox worked as a production assistant for his parents’ movie, By The Sea, which the couple both starred in and directed.

The movie, released in 2015, was actually written by Angelina Jolie as well. It’s no wonder, then, that she’d want her first child to have an important role in producing something that meant so much to her.

Angelina Jolie has also talked about having Maddox help her produce an upcoming Netflix original movie based on a Cambodian book from a human rights activist. The film is set in Cambodia and uses all Cambodian actors and actresses, making it an especially important piece of Maddox’s life.

10 All Six Have Appeared In Vogue

It’s not often that, as a young child, you get to start in a photo spread in one of the biggest magazines in the world with your mom and dad. But, when you have some of the most famous parents on earth, you and all your siblings get to be a part of such an opportunity!

In late 2015, Vogue magazine released an issue with Angelina Jolie on the cover. Inside this issue, all 6 of the Brangelina clan got to appear in their very first Vogue spread – something many famous people dream of doing one day.

Even cooler? Their photos were shot by the incredible Annie Leibovitz, a photographer well-known for her amazing, touching portraits of some of the most famous people in the world. One photo features the kids in some interesting costumes running down the beach with mom, sort of symbolic of the free-spirited nature of the family.

9 Maddox's Name Was Not Originally Maddox

Maddox sure has had an interesting life, being adopted by one of the world’s biggest superstars when he was only a few months old. Of course, he’d have to have an interesting name to match, right?

Angelina legally changed his name from Rath Vibol, the name he was born with in Cambodia, to Maddox Chivan Thornton Jolie. Maddox is a name of Welsh origin, and typically means “a fortunate person”. Of course, the “Thornton” came from her marriage to Billy Bob Thornton, which saw its demise only a few months after adopting baby Maddox.

In 2005, Brad Pitt formally adopted Maddox, once again changing his last name, which became Jolie-Pitt. Pitt adopted Angelina’s other child, Zahara, at the same time, hyphenating her last name as well. All 6 of the children now have matching last names.

8 Vivienne Acted Alongside Her Mom

Blink and you’ll miss her, but she’s most definitely there. Little Vivienne, one of the most-anticipated celebrity babies who just happened to be one half of a set of adorable twins, acted with her famous mom in Maleficent.

Angelina Jolie had the starring role of Maleficent. The film was based on the backstory of the evil sorceress who was behind the curse of Aurora, better known as Sleeping Beauty. Over time, Maleficent begins to love the little girl, much to her dismay.

Little Vivienne, who was only four at the time, got to play the adorable, young, blue-eyed Aurora. She was only in the film for a few seconds, running through the field, chasing butterflies, and asking Maleficent to hold her, but it’s quite a treat to see her acting right alongside her mom, in character.

7 Zahara Lent Her Voice To A Children's Movie

Zahara is one of the children we don’t hear too much about, and it’s been said that she’s one of the more private ones. She was given up for adoption by her mother, who was 19 at the time of Zahara’s birth.

Zahara hasn’t expressed any interest in acting, but she has, instead, worked more behind the scenes on a popular children’s movie: Kung Fu Panda 3. She played the voice of one of the pandas in the film. In fact, 3 of her 5 siblings lent their voices as pandas!

Why Kung Fu Panda 3? Well, this is yet another movie that Angelina Jolie is a part of. Her voice is given to none other than the fierce Tigress. Shiloh, Knox, and Pax all took part in the movie, along with Zahara, but only after a bit of nudging from their mom.

6 Maddox Had A Small Part In A Brad Pitt Movie

It’s clear that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie really enjoy their kids being on movie sets with them, and even having roles in their films. However, most of the roles are so small that we just keep missing them!

Yet another small cameo by one of Brad and Angelina’s kids happened in a famous Brad Pitt movie, World War Z. The movie, based on a book by the same name, follows Brad Pitt’s character as he attempts to stop the zombie apocalypse from taking over the world.

Pitt said that Maddox had a super small role in the film: he plays a zombie who ends up getting shot. The role was actually the turning point for Maddox’s famous mohawk, which he ended up shaving to look more zombie-like. Talk about being fully committed to his acting role!

5 The Twins Have Familial Names

Fans have wondered where twins, Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline, got their names from. Perhaps, they were slightly influenced by the country of France, where Angelina insisted on giving birth to them. But, their parents have stated that there’s more to their names than meets the eye.

In fact, each twin’s name has ties to one of their parents’ family members. Knox Léon was named after Brad Pitt’s grandfather, Hal Knox Hillhouse. It worked out perfectly, since the two older boys, Maddox and Pax, also have names ending with the letter “x”. Léon also is a familial name, coming from Angelina’s great-great grandfather.

Vivienne Marcheline’s middle name is a tribute to Angelina’s late mother, Marcheline, who passed away from cancer the year before the twins were born. Born Marcia Lynne, Marcheline later transformed her name to a more French version to use for her acting roles.

4 Magazines Paid A Lot Of Money For Photos Of The Brangelina Kids

According to Finances Online, Angelina and Brad made the list of most expensive celebrity baby photos not once, but three times! Pax, Shiloh, and Knox and Vivienne are three of the ten spots for highest-paid baby photos, with Knox and Vivienne grabbing the number one spot.

How much were Brad and Angelina paid for exclusive photo rights? Between Hello! and People magazines, the couple received $14 million for exclusive photos of the superstar twins when they were born.

Shiloh was in the number one spot at the time of her birth, with her photos getting sold exclusively to People for $4.1 million. They eventually were also sold to Hello! for another $3.5 million. Technically, that puts Shiloh in the number two spot, just ahead of J. Lo’s twins, whose birth photos sold for $6 million to People.

Pax also makes the list at number five. His first photos after his adoption sold to People for $2 million.

3 Shiloh Identified As A Boy At A Young Age

The couple has, unfortunately, been criticized for allowing their daughter, Shiloh, to dress and act “like a boy”. Some say she’s too young to identify herself as a boy. Brad and Angelina haven’t addressed the issue much because, quite simply, it isn’t an issue to them.

In fact, both stars have mentioned, in different interviews, that Shiloh has just simply always preferred boy things over girl things, and they’re totally okay with that. Angelina even said that she was very much like Shiloh as a young girl, always identifying as more of a “tomboy” than interested in girly things.

Brad admitted that, even as young as two, Shiloh would insist on being called “John”. Therefore, Shiloh’s parents have allowed her to wear the type of clothes she chooses, if that’s what makes her happy. If nothing else, Shiloh definitely has some super supportive parents!

2 Pax Wants To Be A DJ

Pax is one of the quieter of the bunch, tending to stay out of the limelight as much as possible. Instead, he prefers to hang out with his family and experience culture. In fact, he’s visited his native country, Vietnam, with Angelina to learn more about where he comes from.

Pax has also helped on the set of Angelina’s upcoming Netflix movie by taking photos of the set and cast. However, movies don’t seem to be holding his interest like they do his parents. Instead, Pax is taking up a new interest: music.

Pax has told his parents he’s interested in deejaying. If you see any recent photos of him within the last year or so, you’ll probably notice him wearing his signature headphones in most of the photos. It seems that music is becoming his passion, and he’s determined to make a career out of it.

1 Their Custody Arrangement Is Up In The Air

Unfortunately, some beautiful love stories come to an end. Brad and Angelina announced their divorce in 2016, amid some rumors that the couple had been in trouble for a while. However, the pair maintained their privacy on the subject until they were ready to share the news.

Of course, the world wanted to know what would happen with the couple’s six kids. Who would have custody, and how would it all work? The media has seemed to go back and forth on the subject, as have Angelina and Brad.

It’s been reported that, toward the very end of the year, the custody agreement had been finalized. However, the couple agreed to seal the reports, rather than allowing them to leak to the public. So, it’s still not 100% sure who has custody and what the exact arrangement is, but rumors have swirled that Angelina will have custody, while Brad will have visitation rights to the children.
