Lately it seems as though Chrissy Teigen is one mother that everyone loves to criticize. If someone didn’t know about her before she became a parent, they certainly know about her now. She’s all over the media recently because people love to criticize her parenting. And to be honest, none of the things are really issues to worry about! Are people genuinely concerned? Is it that people are jealous?

If people are criticizing Chrissy’s parenting because they are genuinely concerned, they don’t have anything to worry about. During “The Daily Show,” new mom and correspondent went to bat for celebrity parents saying, "You’re worried about the quality of John Legend and Chrissy Teigen’s child care? It’s not like they're getting their nanny off Craigslist. They’re rich celebrities. They could get Mary Poppins to watch their baby, as in literally call Julie Andrews, get her to come out of retirement to babysit in character as Mary Poppins.”

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend always have the best responses, too. John Legend responded jokingly, "Luna's first @TheDailyShow appearance. FYI, we only have Mary Poppins on weekends.”

The criticism is getting so ridiculous that everyone is trying to defend new celebrity moms. While Chrissy Teigen has been receiving all this criticism, people never say a bad thing about John Legend’s parenting. He recently tweeted, "Funny there's no dad-shaming. When both of us go out to dinner, shame both of us so Chrissy doesn't have to take it all. We'll split it.”

Mom shaming isn’t a new thing, and it seems like it’s not going away anytime soon. Here are 15 times Chrissy Teigan's parenting was on the media's radar.

15 French Fries Anyone?

Chrissy Teigen posted this perfect picture of her and baby Luna relaxing on Instagram, and of course someone had to ruin the mood. I didn’t even notice until someone wrote a rude comment, but baby luna is holding a french fry. I know, how awful right?

The commenter wrote, “Chrissy!! Please tell me that's not an effing French fry clenched in that perfect little hand!! As a mama of 2 grown, trust me, U have a very small slice of time to control & instill good eating habits. If they don't get it, they won't miss it! I highly recommend zero junk/processed food, like chips, no candy, or fast food. Make treats frozen blueberries & frozen melon pieces are awesome!”

Chrissy probably thought she was posting a cute picture of her daughter but of course there had to be that one person that ruined it. Hopefully you have better luck next time Chrissy.

14 Baby’s Red Cheeks

If you have been a mom for at least two seconds, you know that babies get weird rashes, bumps, or get sick. And it doesn’t mean that you are a bad mom. These things just happen. Chrissy posted a video of her baby who happened to have red cheeks. Chrissy must have been fed up with all the negative comments because here’s how she captioned the photo:

"Yes she has rosy eczema cheeks," Teigen wrote. "Yes we are taking care of it, no it's not a gluten allergy, no it's not our makeup, no it's not from our perfume, yes she's just a baby.”

Even with the caption, she still had comments giving her advice about what to do because everyone is allowed to have an opinion about her baby.

One commenter wrote, “Desoximetasone cream! Worked like a charm when I was younger and still use it till this day!" While another wrote, “have you tried breast milk? You can soak a cotton ball and let her skin soak it. It helped my grandbaby.”

13 Having A Baby Free Night

Chrissy Teigan needed a well deserved break 10 days after having her baby, and people had all kinds of opinions about it. How dare she go out without her baby? Doesn’t she know that once you have your baby you’re not allowed to go anywhere without them? Obviously kidding, but the comments people left were pretty much along those lines.

One person wrote, "That spotlight pull be strong. One week. Who wants to leave a one week old baby to go to a bar?” Another offered a not so helpful suggestion — "Yeah they could have ordered in … But it's like a competition with these self-absorbed celebs.” And the most passive aggressive one of them all — "I never wanted to leave my daughter, I love her, but that’s just me.”

Chrissy Teigen was witty with her response as usual. The next morning she tweeted, “I went to dinner. People are pissed. Good morning!”

12 Holding Luna The Wrong Way

As soon as pictures surfaced of Chrissy apparently holding her baby Luna “the wrong way”, people went crazy with all the criticism.

One commenter wrote, “this is not how a baby is held!!!” To which Chrissy responded, “Really, because that's the way I'm f--king holding her.”

Another person apparently had some strong feelings and felt the need to comment, “I don't give a crap where that baby popped out from! Do not hold a baby like a handbag!” As always, Chrissy’s response was perfect and she responded, "Well you hold your handbag like a f--king idiot, then.”

Chrissy Teigen eventually explained what was going on by tweeting, “Let me know how you hold your baby when she's about [to get] into a stroller and there are 20 camera flashes at night."

She’s faced a lot of criticism about motherhood lately and she’s pretty sick of it. She later wrote, "I despise mommy-shamers. I am a proud shamer of mommy-shamers."

11 Eating Cereal While Pregnant

Chrissy Teigen posted a photo of herself eating Fruity Pebbles mixed with Captain Crunch to Instagram and the only thing I thought about was how delicious it looked! Other’s didn’t share my sentiment. Teigen was pregnant at the time, and some people don’t think that Captain Crunch and Fruity Pebbles are healthy enough to eat while pregnant.

Some of the comments she received said, ”don't feed your baby that dyed crap” or "don't eat that gorgeous” and "Captain Crunch cuts the roof of your mouth.”

But Chrissy wasn’t having any of it. She jokingly tweeted back a series of tweets to all the haters, "Yes I am living off dyed food. Tuna too!! Gonna try to dye my tuna actually. Then have an icy, dyed vodka soda and that's just lunch. Take the trapeze class I've been meaning to take. Do a 3 legged race then probably rent sumo suits and battle strangers. And finish the day off with a nice cigar in the hot tub.”

10 Showing Fans Her Growing Baby Bump

Chrissy Teigen doesn’t fake it for the cameras or for her fans, and that’s part of the reason why people love her so much. But for all the people that love her, there are just as many that criticize her.

She started showing in her third trimester, and posted a picture of her growing baby bump with the caption, “Somebody is early to the party.”

Of course people can’t just say “Congratulations”, or “That’s so exciting!” Instead they have to talk about how big she is and how that’s not normal. Some people insisted that she’s pregnant with at least twins if not triplets because she’s way to big to just be pregnant with one baby.

It’s as if people are doctors or something. She eventually replied, “I did IVF. One at a time. It isn't twins. I can see the damn thing.” “Get out of my uterus!" She continued. “Please stop. I put one embryo in.”

9 Selecting Baby's Gender

Chrissy Teigen and her husband John Legend have been struggling with infertility issues for a while and are very open talking about their struggles. They eventually tried IVF, and obviously it was successful.

“Not only am I having a girl, but I picked the girl from her little embryo. I picked her and was like, ‘Let’s put in the girl. A boy will come along. We’ll get there too, so it’s not like we really have to pick. But he definitely is very lucky to have a little girl. And this girl is going to be so completely lucky to have John as her papa – it’s crazy.”

Some fans had very strong opinions about their choice to pick the baby’s gender. One person wrote, “I do think it's sad people would pick a specific gender / prefer a specific gender.” Another very rudely asked, “Did you choose the hair and the eye color too? Smh messing with the natural blessings from God.”

But Chrissy very gracefully responded, “I also picked the embryo with a taste for bacon, a knack for magic and size 7 feet so she can always find shoes.”

8 Hiring A Night Nurse

Having a night nurse is very common for celebrities and it can come with a lot of misunderstandings. Having a night nurse doesn’t mean that you still get to sleep 8-10 hours a night. Chrissy received a ton of criticism when she told her fans about the controversial topic.

The comments were flat out rude. "Night nurse for your baby's feedings and diaper changes. How awful. Take care of your baby. You'll never get that time back.” Another even accused them of being part time parents saying, “Shame on John Legend and Chrissy Teigen! Night nurse! #parttimeparenting.”

Chrissy tried to explain what a night nurse really did. "A night nurse doesn't replace you waking and feeding at night. You’re up with them. They're helpers and teachers."

She also added, "I am so used to sharing our life that I forget how protective I will be soon. I cannot handle this kind of constant judgement!”

7 The Golden Rule

A picture surfaced of Chrissy Teigen and her baby Luna and of course people had to say something about it. People couldn’t just comment about how cute her baby is or how great they look. There might be a lot of fun perks to being a celebrity, however, lack of privacy is definitely one of the biggest disadvantages.

One person commented, “Golden rule of dressing babies is however many layers you are wearing plus and extra one! common sense really.” Another one said, “They both have jackets on and they can’t even put a pair of socks on the poor baby.”

Some people feel the need to constantly criticize moms. While I am not even close to being a celebrity, I kind of understand what Chrissy Teigen is going through. My son would get extremely hot in the car seat so I very rarely adhered to the extra layer of clothing for the babies. People I didn’t even know would feel the need to tell me that my baby was cold!

6 Baby Doesn't Show Emotion

This was probably the most ridiculous reason for someone to criticize Chrissy Teigen’s parenting. After a picture came out of Chrissy and her daughter Luna, someone wrote, “That baby never shows emotions, she never smiles or frys. Its weird.” Yes that was the exact comment and the exact spelling.

First of all, if you want to criticize someone, the most important step is to make sure you spell everything correctly. I love grammar and writing so maybe it’s just me, but if I see a grammatical error, your criticism automatically goes out the window. It means nothing. If you can’t spell then you don’t have the privilege of judging someone’s parenting.

I also love how someone can make a judgment like that based on a couple photos. They don’t know what Luna is actually like. It probably wouldn’t make me really happy having 20 cameras and people in my face either.

5 Posting A Naked Photo

Remember when Kim Kardashian posted naked pictures and broke the internet? Well Chrissy Teigen posted a tasteful picture of herself naked and it pretty much broke Instagram. You couldn’t see any parts or anything, but she was definitely naked. I should also mention that her husband John Legend was sitting right next to her.

Chrissy received such awful comments that she decided she couldn’t take anymore of it and disabled each and every comment. If you go back and look at the photo you can’t see any of the comments anymore and you aren’t able to leave any additional comments.

A lot of comments were bashing her for posting a picture like this when she is supposed to be a respectable mom now. I don’t really understand what that comment means, but if you read between the lines it sounds like they’re jealous because they’re a mom and don’t have a body like Chrissy Teigen.

4 Bouncing Back After Baby

Chrissy Teigen is a model, so it’s her job to stay in shape and look good. And she does. After having a baby, it seemed like she bounced extremely quickly. People were quick to criticize saying that she should be spending more time at home with her baby and less time being concerned about how she looked.

While Teigen did bounce back after having her baby, she knows that it doesn’t happen for everyone.

“Anyone in the public eye, we have all the help we could ever need to be able to shed everything. I think people get this jaded sensation that everybody’s losing it so quickly, but we just happen to be the ones who are out there. We have nutritionists, we have dietitians, we have trainers, we have our own schedules, we have nannies. We have people who make it possible for us to get back into shape. But nobody should feel like that’s normal, or like that’s realistic.”

3 The Little Blue Line

Chrissy Teigen is quickly learning that someone is going to say something regardless of how hard you try or don’t try. Being a mother is hard and people have so many different opinions about what is right and what is wrong. Being a celebrity makes it even harder because you are constantly in the public eye.

Chrissy posted a picture on Instagram of baby Luna looking cute as ever. Although she noticed that Luna’s diaper was wet and captioned her photo appropriately. “This diaper is never not blue so don't even start with me.”

Thankfully people are starting to realize how ridiculous it is that people criticize Chrissy’s parenting for literally everything. One person commented, “she had to put that caption before anyone could come for her.”

Babies do literally pee every two seconds so there’s no judging coming from me. Most day’s my goal is to keep my child alive so I think Chrissy is doing an amazing job.

2 Breastfeeding Drama

No parenting judgement would be complete without a little breastfeeding drama! Moms are bashed if they don’t breastfeed. But they need to make sure to breastfeed inside their own house with a cover on. It seems like everyone has opinions about breastfeeding.

Chrissy Teigen appeared in Fergie’s M.I.L.F. $ music video and she was breastfeeding Luna in one of the scenes. M.I.L.F is supposed to mean, “moms I’d like to follow”, and the video is celebrating women who do it all. Instead of celebrating and acknowledging that, commenters were all over this opportunity to talk about how “trashy” it was.

Teigen didn’t seem to mind. She said the breastfeeding scene was actually impromptu.

“It was [like], ‘[Luna’s] here, and it’s “MILF Money” — I would love to capture this moment with her.’ I think it’s beautiful. They were so accommodating of a newborn baby, and John was watching. Honestly, it was like 10 minutes, but it went by so fast. I loved it.”

1 Postpartum Depression

In March 2017, Chrissy Teigen opened up about her battle with postpartum depression. Postpartum depression is real and it can happen to anyone — even celebrities. Chrissy prides herself on being an open book, but she was still nervous about opening up about this issue.

Chrissy writes in her essay, “I had everything I needed to be happy. And yet, for much of the last year, I felt unhappy. What basically everyone around me—but me—knew up until December was this: I have postpartum depression.” She continued, “I couldn’t figure out why I was so unhappy. I blamed it on being tired and possibly growing out of the role: “Maybe I’m just not a goofy person anymore. Maybe I’m just supposed to be a mom.”

While she received a lot of support for talking about this, there were still rude comments. One commenter wrote, “Oh great you have what some of us normal people have... brave? Lmfao not.”
