The moment Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell’s lip-syncing music video to Toto’s, “Africa” song broke the internet, they forever became legends in the celebrity world. We knew fans were in for a wild ride full of laughter and messy moments when they became parents.

This celebrity couple has never been shy about their life and that is why Kristen Bell is a super mom! Her exact words to People Magazine about parenting were, “It’s messy and grotesque and [gross] and lovely and heartwarming all at the same time. It’s this beautiful paradox.” Seriously, she couldn’t have described it any better. Thanks to Dax Shepard and her being so raw, open, and honest with life and parenting, they share both stomach-turning and lovely moments as parents.

Luckily, these two have a strong backbone and a sense of humour because sharing one's life with the public comes with naysayers. For the most part, this power couple is as chill as they get. Remember, they did dance alongside lions and wild elephants. They have to be pretty “in tune” with their emotions and anxieties to successfully come out of a scene like that. Regardless, this couple has hilarious parenting moments, crazy and entertaining comments, and of course, real life issues too!

20 Potty Mouths

As I said, these two are so chill. This doesn't mean that their kids are perfect and don't accidentally break things in Target or drop the F-bomb in public.

They slip up too, but they are boss parents when it comes to how they handle situations! Shepard revealed a little slip up on the Ellen DeGeneres Show about how their oldest daughter, Lincoln, said the F word at a pool party.

Dax explains that Lincoln chose to use the potty word to describe the pool temperature. Dax chuckled, "Side note, we were like, 'She's nailing the syntax. She knows [how to use it] as an adjective, as an adverb.' We were proud, and she stopped saying it." As I said, super chill! Plus, what is screaming at her going to teach her. Nice parenting, dad!

19 Self Care

This family is all about self-care! If you know Mrs. Bell, then you are aware she doesn't care where she is at, what she is doing, or who she is with. If this mommy needs to depuff her eyes, take a few breaths, or step away, she is on it!

In a recent parenting interview with MyDomaine, she mentioned, "One thing I've realized is I've been very bubbly and go, go, go, and I haven't recognized that I think a good 50% of me is an introvert. When I'm too much of an extrovert, I wither a little bit, and I get depressed and I get anxious."

To further my point about this mommy being in touch with herself, she also said, "Even if I have a house full of people and my husband's playing games with people, if I need to go retreat into my room and listen to a podcast or just read a book, I'm okay with that." See people, it is okay to stop for a second! Take a break! You deserve it too!

18 The Truth, And Nothing But The Truth

What do you do when your five year old asks, "Mommy, how are babies born?" Or "Daddy, what is that thing you have between your legs." Yikes, right? All of a sudden, it quickly becomes nap time and the topic is covered with dirt.

Well, not in this house. Bell explained in an interview that she doesn't believe we should make up stories to tell our kids. Tell them the truth. It is that simple. Her advice: "You sit there and you hold your [frantic] breath and you feel like [going crazy] because you just ruined them. And they cry for a second, or they look sad, and 20 seconds later they're fine."

Don't worry, she hasn't gone so far as to tell them about the birds and the bees... yet!

17 One Finger Rule

"I'm just getting out of toddler phase, but it is so hair-raising all the things you need to deal with," she told My Domaine. Life doesn't stop once you have kids, so you still have to go into the department store, and hold your breath in hopes that no little fingers knock over a vase you can't afford. Behold, this family has the best rule ever created.

She told People Magazine, “My toddler is incredibly destructive and wants to touch everything. One mom told me, ‘Let her touch things with one finger. That way it’s exciting for her.’"

I can get down with that rule. Imagine your stress level now shopping. Kristen continued, “So if she wants to touch a vase that I know she shouldn’t, I say, ‘Oh, I want to touch it too. Let’s use one finger!’" Brilliant!

16 Kids Being Crazy Kids.

When you look at a celebrity, you immediately think they have their life together right? Perfect white couches with fresh flowers in fancy vases at all times. Jokes on you, sister! They are human and moms too! This right, here is Bell's couch. I know, not fancy nor is it sparkly clean. Also, do you see the gum taped to the couch?

Bell posted on social media, "Today my children have inexplicably decided to start taping loose pieces of gum to our chairs,” she wrote. “I have a feeling this is all part of a larger plan…”

And just when you thought her life was a fairytale, her kids goes and does something like this to bring her right back down to our reality! Hey, at least it wasn't chewed gum, right?

15 Rolling With The Lingo

Kids literally say the darnest things. Someone once told me to keep a laugh journal and write down one thing a day that someone did or said to make you laugh. If you don't have one, start. Kristen and Dax definitely need one with their little daughter, Delta.

Recently Kristen Bell told People Magazine, “She likes to alter language a lot. She abbreviates a lot of things. In the morning when she takes her diaper off she doesn’t say, ‘Let’s get this diaper off. She says, ‘Take off my diap.’"

Okay, cute, funny, and something that will always make you smile. Have fun changing that poopy diaper mommy!

14 They Go To Therapy Together

If someone told me to go see a therapist 20 years ago, I would have worn a disguise to walk into the building and park a block away. Thanks to celebrities coming out and being raw, they have shown us that therapy is okay! Why were we all acting like it was a bad thing for so long?

Shepard and Bell come out in an interview with Good Housekeeping about how they keep their marriage strong and intact! "We started [seeing a therapist together] right away. I thought I had this life thing down pat when I met Dax," Kristen shared. "I didn't realize that I needed a much bigger toolbox to have confrontations and disagreements with people. You do better in the gym with a trainer; you don't figure out how to cook without reading a recipe. Therapy is not something to be embarrassed about."

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

13 They Do Breakfast In Bed, Too!

Okay, so maybe that breakfast looks a bit more classy than the pancake with a half-eaten bite bit out of it that you get in bed, but it is all the same idea! Just like us, her kids come running in way too early, are wide awake before you even get a sip of coffee, and do super sweet gestures like this, too!

Bell shared this pic on social media along with her flawless morning face, "Today I woke up to breakfast in bed, immediately was given a side pony, and handed this beautiful birthday note. THIS is the good place!!!" she wrote.

Agreed, breakfast in bed is always "The Good Place."

12 Baby Announcements That Make You LOL!

If you follow these two on social media, then you know they bring a chuckle to your life daily. Of course, we also know they can be a bit witty and don't like to follow along with the norm. Instead of pregnancy photo shoots and cute little shoes next to a sign marked with a due date, this couple posted stuff to make a grown adult pee their pants.

For example, Bell posted online, "My new roommate poops her pants and doesn't pay rent...basically @daxshepard1 pre-sobriety :) welcome baby Lincoln xo." And just wait...

Dax followed with, "Lincoln Bell Shepard is here. She has mom's beauty and dad's obsession with breasts. Hooray!!!" Okay, stop. Their humor is the best.

11 Leader Of The Band And House

If you had any doubts about Dax Shepard being an outstanding dad or husband, just go check out Kristen Bell's mushy social media posts. She posted a few photos and has a few one-liners to express her appreciation.

Here are just a few shoutouts: "To the man... Who wore a baby Bjorn for 2 straight years to show his girls how to be as adventurous as possible." Kristen once wrote. Okay, that's precious.

She gets a little deep with, "I know how much you loved using. I know how much it got in your way. And I know because I saw, how hard you worked to live without it. I will forever be in awe of your dedication, and the level of fierce moral inventory you perform on yourself, like an emotional surgery, every single night."

Sweet and silly all in one. She ends it with, "You have become the fertilizer in the garden of our life, encouraging everyone to grow." If all that doesn't scream, "I love you," then I don't know what does!

10 I'm A Cool Dad.

Dax Shepard is definitely in the cool dad category. With his humor, chiseled dad bod, and acting skills, we think he's a hard 10! So he may be super cool when it comes to playing with kids, being the life of the party out at the bar, and when playing Catan.

But, not when it comes to childbirth. I think this will provide a lot of honesty and comic relief to other scared dads. He told Ellen DeGeneres, "There's a sheet, and then [the doctors] go, 'The baby's here!' and then you peek around the sheet, and they're lifting out the baby—but then you notice your wife is completely disassembled. I can see inside of her. I was like, 'It's a girl! Your liver's out, I think! And those are definitely intestines. And she has your eyes. Oh, my God, put her back together correctly!' After seeing this autopsy, I would rather see a school bus drive out of her [lady parts]."

They say honesty is key!

9 The Kids Forget To Knock!

If you are a little PG, then skip over this post because Shepard and Bell don't keep things PG in their home. Oh yes, their kids have walked in on them doing the dirty! On an episode of The Talk, she opens up about how their little humans forget to knock at home!

Of course, the talk host gasps at the fact that Bell is so open about this happening. Her response, like always, is perfect.  She gladly shares, "That’s how they were made, it’s OK! ... Well, we didn’t, like, continue… we sort of just went like, ‘Hey, what’s up? What do you need? What do you need?’… And then we just said, ‘Mommy and Daddy are just going to take a nap for a couple of minutes.'”

Two kids and still finding time for marriage. Cheers to that sister!

8 You're Famous Mommy?

Clearly, this Frozen mom couldn't hide from the fact that she was in the hit movie. Side note, who knew she could sing like this to? In an interview with Popsugar, she told a silly story about how her daughter Lincoln realized her parents were actually famous.

Shepard does a podcast, which the girls are aware of. Lincoln asked, “Do people listen to the podcast for you or for Monica? Do you think they like you more or Monica?” Daddy replied, "They probably like us evenly because we both work hard on it. But probably they tune into the podcast because I’m famous and they know my name.”

In all shock, Lincoln said, “You’re famous?” Where then, Dax calmly responded, “Well, yeah, sweetie. Why do you think people ask me and Mommy for pictures when we’re out in public?” This left Lincoln surprised as ever and gushed, “Mommy’s famous?!” She replied. Oh, this little girl is going to be in for a treat when she gets older and realizes how cool her parents really are!

7 Split The Duties

If there's one house rule that I assume could break this couple it would be "don't watch an episode of Game Of Thrones without the other person." Divorce papers would be signed immediately because these two don't mess around with that show!

Anyways, they both express on social media how amazing the other parent is when it comes to helping out or doing the duties. They also are real about being a parent and how to much time with one child can be exhausting (even though you love them!).

Dax tweeted, "After 8 days at home with LBS, my afternoon trip to Costco felt like late night rager [at an adult bar]. " We totally understand where this dad is coming from and how important splitting the parenting duties can be! Keep it up, guys!

6 Stranger Danger

The couple is so generous and kind about charity and giving back. They constantly are helping others, speaking at events, and doing all they can! It is so amazing and special.

This Michigan couple is obsessed with the HBO series, Game Of Thrones, as well as the board game, Catan. Bell and Shepard are actually SO obsessed they have game night with fans! Yes, they allow obsessed fans to enter their home and play this forever long game.

Sounds a bit unsettling to me, but clearly they have all the details figured out. Plus, all of this is for a good cause in the end!

5 The Birthday Sloth

Unless you live under a rock, you most likely have heard or seen Kristen Bell's sloth birthday surprise. It may be one of the best videos out on Youtube. Never in my whole life have I seen a grown woman uncontrollably sob over a sloth, but that's Bell for ya! Nothing like a sloth guest appearance for your 31st birthday, right!

Anyways, Bell lost all of her marbles over being so excited. It was the most adorable, funny, and out of this world moment. She told The Ellen DeGeneres Show, "If I'm not between a three and a seven on the emotional scale, I'm crying." After she settled down, she and the sloth hung out the rest of the evening. But seriously, how does one get a sloth to a party, to begin with!

4 Reuse & Recycle

Lifehack right here! This is another one of Shepard's and Bell's funny social media posts where they are so raw about their life. Also, peep the cute little baby hand since you will never see these girls faces!

Anyways, Bell was vegan for a while and then vegetarian, so basically she's very health conscious and environmentally friendly. So, here you have it! Don't have time to get bath toys? Chobani will save the day! Crazy that in a world where they can afford anything, they still fall back on normal things us mommies would do. And for that, we love her even more

3 Vegan Or Something Like That!

Either this is to fancy for me or I just don't have time to prep this kind of crazy! Regardless, I am impressed and not going to hate on Bell for feeding her kids healthy options! But this sandwich is a bit too much for this chicken nugget, pizza lover gal!

Bell posted a little kid friendly cooking activity she did with the girls. She commented, "Red=beet juice. Purple=boiled purple cabbage juice. Blue=Boiled purple cabbage juice+baking soda. Rainbow Grilled Cheese=DELICIOUS." It probably is delicious, and much healthier than my bacon grilled cheese, but ain't nobody got time for this craziness!

2 Hiding Them Away

If you haven't noticed yet, there are no pictures of Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell's children. Even finding information on them, let alone their name was like searching for a hidden treasure. Well, I can tell you, their first daughter's name is Lincoln, and their second little girl is Delta.

Other than names and funny tweets the couple makes out about their girls, they are basically hidden from the media. Why do you ask? Kristen strongly believes photographing these celebrity children puts them in danger and harm. Bell started a whole campaign to stop the paparazzi and magazines from plastering child celebrities on covers. More power to you, Bell. Protect those babies!

1 Snow White Issues

We love this couple, although some things they do may seem a bit bonkers! But, to each their own! Who are we to judge, right!

Anyways, Bell is not down with some of the Disney fairy tales. Say what!? Oh yes, so here it is. Bell interviewed with USA Today and expressed her two sense on stranger danger. "Every time we close Snow White I look at my girls and ask, 'Don't you think it's weird that Snow White didn't ask the old witch why she needed to eat the apple? Or where she got that apple?' I say, 'I would never take food from a stranger, would you?' And my kids are like, 'No!' And I'm like, 'Okay, I'm doing something right.'"

Her next argument was, "Don't you think that it's weird that the prince kisses Snow White without her permission? Because you can not kiss someone if they're sleeping!" Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and parenting and we love Bell for sharing her views and voice! Preach it, Mommy!
