Nothing gets people excited like a pregnancy announcement. Whether it be from a family member or a friend, everyone loves to hear about it on social media. Well, when the two of those things are added together, celebrity and pregnancy, it is bedlam. Celebrities have been announcing pregnancies for a while now, but with the introduction of the internet and social media, they have become even more extravagant. Once they announce they are expecting, everyone waits anxiously for the news that the little one has arrived and scours the internet for a picture.
There are many celebrities who have welcomed babies in 2018. From reality stars to A-list actors, the babies have come rolling in and fans can not get enough. The good news is, fans are going to have more to fill their hearts with, as there are many other celebrities who are expecting bundles of joy in 2019.
We wanted to go through 16 celebrities who have had their babies this year, and 4 that are still counting down, just as we are.
20 Hilary Duff
Hilary Duff has come a long way since the good old days of Lizzie McGuire, the family friendly Disney channel show that even I loved. She was married to hockey player Mike Comrie, and the pair had a beautiful son, Luca. Sadly, that marriage ended, as many celebrity marriages do. But heartbreak didn't last long for Hilary, as she met Matthew Koma and they fell in love.
Hilary announced that she was pregnant for the second time, and this time she was having a little baby girl. Banks Violet Blair was born on October 25th in the family home. The name is adorable, the baby is adorable, the whole family is adorable.
19 Gabrielle Union
Gabrielle Union is a well-known actress and her hubby is a fantastic basketball player, so you would think they would be great at everything. Sadly, celebrities are afflicted by the same problems as the rest of us, and this couple is no stranger to fertility issues. The new parents have not been shy about their struggle to have a baby, and Gabrielle endured many losses on the way.
To call this baby a miracle is an understatement. What makes this couple unique is that their baby was welcomed via a surrogate who carried and birthed their baby for them. The baby was born on November 7th, a date that they say will be etched in their minds forever.
18 Rick Ross
Rick Ross may not be a household name, but he is well-known around the world as an amazing rapper. He is also married to a beautiful fitness model, Briana Camille. They have one child together, a daughter named Berkeley Hermes, who was born in September of 2017.
But the pair wanted to continue growing their family, so they had a little baby boy named Billion Leonard Roberts, who was born on November 6th. Though this pair is not short for cash, they now have what the world calls a million-dollar family. The first picture they released of their son was him laying down with wads of money around him. Makes sense.
17 Josh Brolin
Josh Brolin may be your favourite superhero from the Avengers movies, but he now has a little girl who will see him as her real-life super hero. Josh Brolin and his partner Kathryn Boyd welcomed their first child together in November: a sweet baby girl that they named Westlyn Reign Brolin.
Brolin captured a sweet moment of the sweet little one sleeping and posted it on social media with the following caption: “mama Kathryn was stellar during this miracle birth and Bean is a flawless gem through and through.” You can feel the father’s pride in every word he wrote. Bean is the nickname that they have given their daughter.
16 Kenya Moore
Kenya Moore is the first reality TV star on our list. She is known for her time on the show the Real Housewives of Atlanta. She and husband Marc Daly welcomed a beautiful baby girl on November 4th and named her Brooklyn Doris Daly. Such a sweet name.
Little Brooklyn was not due to arrive until Thanksgiving but had to make an early entrance due to a condition many women experience. Moore developed preeclampsia, which involves a spike in blood pressure. We are glad that mom and baby Brooklyn are safe.
15 Norman Reedus
Everyone’s favourite "Walking Dead" star is now a father, again. Norman Reedus plays Darryl Dixon on the popular zombie show, and while his character does not appear to be much of a father figure, Reedus is. Reedus and his partner Diane Kruger welcomed their first child together this year. The exact birth date is not really known, adding an air of mystery to it.
Reedus is no stranger to fatherhood as he also has a son, Mingus, with this ex Helena Christensen. Mingus is now 18 and grown, so Reedus is starting all over again with a brand new little baby. This gives him the skills to help his partner, as this is her first child.
14 Kate Upton
Models don’t always get that much attention in the celebrity world. It takes something big for them to make it in. A pregnancy will do that. Kate Upton is a successful model who had a darling daughter named Genevieve Upton Verlander on November 7. She announced her pregnancy the only way a model could. She posted a picture of herself in a bright red pantsuit, baby bump and all. She added the hashtag #PregnantinMiami.
There were of course a lot of supportive comments congratulating the mom-to-be. The sweetest one was from her fiancé. He wrote, "you’re going to be the most amazing mom! I can’t wait to start this new journey with you!"
13 Alfie Allen
You may not recognize Alfie Allen at first glance, but he is one of the stars of the hit show Game of Thrones. He is also the brother of fellow celebrity Lily Allen, a successful singer. Well, he made his sister an aunt on October 22nd, when he and his partner Allie Teilz welcomed a baby.
He released a sweet photograph that only captured his daughter’s little tiny fingers, along with the caption, “with full hearts and overwhelming joy, we would like to introduce you to the newest member of our family. She is perfect.” We don’t think he will let his daughter watch his show for many, many years to come.
12 Mike Colter
Mike Colter is now even more attractive because he became a dad. Mike Colter is the star of the hit show Luke Cage. He is married to Iva Colter, who is a Netflix executive. This is the second daughter that they have brought into this world, and they are over the moon about it. He announced the birth of his daughter on social media at the same time that he announced the cancellation of his show, perhaps to soften the blow: “I am forever grateful to Marvel and Netflix for letting me portray such a prolific character and thank the amazing fans. As one door closes, another has opened, with the birth of my 2nd daughter. Born this week. A lot of great memories. Time to make more. Always forward, forward always."
11 Amber Stevens
Amber Stevens is another one that may not be a familiar face. She is a successful actress who has had a great career on shows like Greek, The Carmichael Show and in the movie 22 Jump Street alongside Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill. She can now add being a mom to her resume, as she welcomes her first child.
She and partner Andrew J. West welcomed a little baby girl on October 7th and she is absolutely perfect. They gave her a sweet and very popular name too, Ava Laverne West. It is sometimes refreshing to see when some celebrities choose "normal" names for their babies.
10 Jeremy Allen White
Hopefully this actor only plays a bad boy on TV and is not that way in real life. If he is then he may have some settling down to do now that he is a dad. Jeremy Allen White is best known for his role on the show Shameless, which has millions of viewers. This leading boy has just welcomed his first child with girlfriend Addison Timlin.
The baby, a daughter named Ezer Billie White, was born on October 20th. The excited new mom took to social media to express her delight in being a new mom, writing, "Welcome to the world baby girl, it just got so much brighter." We are sure that the new dad is just as excited.
9 Jacob Underwood
If you grew up in the '90s, this may be a familiar face to you. The '90s were known for a lot of things, and one of the biggest phenomenons of the decade was boy bands. Jacob Underwood was a member of the boy band O-Town. He is engaged to Chandler Bay, and the pair just welcomed their first child.
They had a daughter named Everest Bay, who was born on October 17th. The new mom released an announcement on social media: "I can’t believe you’re finally here. I can’t believe I’m a mom. Wow." She added a photograph from her maternity shoot with the caption.
8 Yvonne Strahovski
Yvonne Strahovski is an actress best known for a show that is taking the world by storm right now: The Handmaid’s Tale. It's a great show based off a book by the same name, written by Margaret Atwood. On October 15th, Strahovski and her photographer husband welcomed their first child: a baby boy.
Strahovski released a photo announcing the birth with a caption that read: "My heart has melted into a billion pieces a thousand times already." They did not release a name, instead referring to him as their little peanut.
7 Owen Wilson
Owen Wilson is another A-list actor on our list who is no stranger to fatherhood. This funny man welcomed his third child to the world recently. It was announced in October that he and his partner Varunie Vongsvirates welcomed a baby girl. Wilson is loved worldwide, but this baby story has a bit of news around it.
In June, Vongsvirates made some pretty big claims. She stated that she had her doubts that Wilson was the father of this child. He volunteered to complete a paternity test which proved that the baby she was carrying was his. We don’t usually see this kind of drama from the Weddings Crashers actor.
6 Christmas Abbot
There are a lot of people out there who live for reality TV, so many may recognize this celebrity. Christmas Abbot was a contestant on season 19 of Big Brother. She did pretty well too, considering she broke her foot early on in the season. Abbot is also a fitness star, just like her boyfriend Benjamin Bunn.
The pair welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on October 8th. They named him Loyal Atticus. When asked by Entertainment Tonight about her child’s unique name she said, "My family has a history of strong and unique names, so I wanted to follow suit.”
5 Kate Hudson
Practically everyone saw the super-sweet gender reveal from actress Kate Hudson. We all remember watching the moment she popped the balloon to reveal she was having a baby girl. It must have been refreshing, since she is already a mom to two boys. She and boyfriend Danny Fujikawa welcomed their daughter on October 2nd. The baby girl is named Rani. It's pronounced like "Ronnie", after a grandfather named Ron. She stated, “Ron was the most special man who we all miss dearly. To name her after him is an honor. Everyone is doing well and happy as can be.” The family are all doing well, and are all beautiful.
4 Carrie Underwood In 2019
We are now onto the celebrities who are expecting a bundle of joy in 2019, which is something for us all to get excited about. Carrie Underwood is one busy lady. She is married to super cute hockey player, Mike Fisher. The pair have one son, and they are now expecting their second child.
The pregnancy was announced at the same time Underwood revealed she was going on tour for her new album, Cry Pretty. This news also comes at the end of what was a rough time for Underwood. She had recently recovered from a pretty serious fall that left her with a broken wrist and needing surgery on her face. She also stated that she had gone through three lost pregnancies in the last two years.
3 Conor McGregor In 2019
He may not be everyone’s favourite person, but people really love to hate him. Conor McGregor is an MMA fighter who is known for his outrageous antics and colourful personality. That is the nicest way I could think to describe him.
In May of 2017, McGregor welcomed a son named Conor Jack. He has since announced that he is expecting his second child but no information has been released on the gender. Fans were the first ones to spot this upcoming pregnancy as they had noticed a baby bump on McGregor's partner Dee Devlin in a social media picture. There were hundreds of comments speculating on whether or not there was a baby on the way, and they were right. You can’t hide anything from your fans these days.
2 Jessica Simpson In 2019
Jessica Simpson was all the rage in the '90s and is proving that she is still interesting and relevant. She is another one who is welcoming a baby in the new year: her third child. A wonderful thing about Jessica Simpson is that she has never been afraid to flaunt her baby bump with style.
Fans were already speculating that Simpson was pregnant before she officially announced it by posting a picture to social media of her other children holding a pink balloon. She stated, "this little baby girl will make us a family of five. We couldn’t be happier to announce this precious blessing of life."
1 Miranda Sings in 2019
YouTube is taking the world by storm, and everyone has their favorite channels to watch. Miranda Sings is one of the most popular characters on YouTube, but that is what she is: a character. Colleen Ballinger is the woman behind the lipstick and she is expecting a baby in January. She met her fiancé on her Netflix show, Haters Back Off, and the pair fell in love.
Ballinger recently tweeted out, "I just want to eat French fries for a meal and not be judged, is that so much to ask?" Ballinger has had a rough pregnancy and has been confined to her bed for a lot of it. She is due on New Year’s Day, but she is hoping that this baby makes an earlier appearance.
