Chrissy Teigen may have first turned our collective heads as a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, but it's her hilarious Instagram posts, and side-splitting Twitter one-liners, that's made her a household name. And, let's not forget to mention, one of the funniest people on the Internet.

Whether she's lovingly mocking her husband - Grammy Award-winning musician John Legend - on Twitter, calling out her equally hilarious mom on Snapchat, or posting adorable pics of daughter Luna on Instagram, the Lip Sync Battle host keeps all of us on our toes, waiting to see what she's going to say next.

But, it's not just her humor that has so many of us fangirling over this gorgeous supermodel. It's her "realness" that we connect to, and her ability to use her star power to talk about formerly taboo subjects like the impossibilities of becoming pregnant, post-baby body imperfections, and even politics. She's spoken candidly about her struggle to get pregnant with daughter Luna, and the baby boy she'll be welcoming later this year. She takes down mom shamers, trolls, and her self-confidence and poise continue to amaze us. Perhaps, most of all, we love watching her as a mother. Her honest and candid posts about pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, and parenthood have us laughing and crying all at once, reminding us that it's okay to struggle, it's okay to cry, it's okay to be tired, it's okay to go out for dinner and leave our babies at home. It's okay to get stretch marks, it's okay to gain weight, it's okay to eat pizza! She posts all of her ups and downs, bumps and milestones on social media for all the world to see - apologetically, with humor and love. She seems like a fantastic wife, a hardcore daughter, and friend, and a totally amazing mama. Here are all the ways we wish the amazing Chrissy Teigen were our own mom:

18 She Calls Out Mom Shamers... Big Time

We can't have an article about Chrissy Teigen without first addressing her famous Twitter sass, which is hilarious if you're not the target of her (usually justifiable) ire. Teigen takes on trolls, critics, and mom-shamers with swift and sarcastic scorn, and we love her for this.

“If you wanna give me unsolicited baby advice on the damn cereal I eat/what I wear you better unlock your profile so I can see your perfection,” she once wrote on Twitter.

I would blow my word count listing all the run-ins she's had with mom-shamers on Twitter and Instagram. She's been criticized for undergoing IVF, for going down a slide with her daughter, and even for going out for dinner with her husband without her infant daughter. The latter incident brought John Legend to her support:

"Funny there's no dad-shaming," he wrote on Twitter on May 10, 2016, according to Cosmopolitan. "When both of us go out to dinner, shame both of us so Chrissy doesn't have to take it all. We'll split it," he said

Now, imagine this woman as your mom, and you've come home from school/soccer practice/dance class/the playground having been teased, tormented, ridiculed or chastised by a teacher, friend or stranger. She would stand up for you like the Mama Bear she is and would teach you how to speak up for yourself, to boot.

17 She Coordinates The Best Photoshoots

While many of us are trying to set up Instagram-worthy photoshoots with our spouses and children in wheat fields or apple orchards, with lens flare and subtly co-ordinated outfits that say: "We're both casual, and effortlessly stylish," Chrissy Teigen is, well, just having fun. Because she’s truly casual and effortlessly stylish.

Take for instance this awesome shot of Teigen, John Legend and their daughter Luna, which was posted on Instagram on Oct. 17, 2017. You don’t even need to be there to know exactly what’s happening. It shows the hilarious family sitting on a gigantic wooden rocking horse, with what appears to be an inflatable skull slide (!) in the background. The caption says: "hay place. a place for hay." It's the kind of photo I'd beg my husband to partake in, and which he'd likely quickly decline.

Teigen's Instagram and Twitter accounts are full of hilarious, adorable and gorgeous (because, well, just look at her) photos of the couple having fun together. And, there’s little doubt that as Luna and her soon-to-be-little brother grow up, they’ll be partaking in lots more family hilarity, which will be captured for posterity on Teigen’s hugely popular Instagram account.

16 She Shows You Your Dad On Sesame Street

This is probably every toddler's dream come true: In August 2017, John Legend had a cameo appearance on Sesame Street. The hope had been that little Luna - then 16 months old - would be able to go to set with him, but the toddler ended up falling sick, and couldn't go.

So, her superstar and uber sweet dad, John Legend, posted a special video on Instagram just for Luna, showing him sitting at a piano and surrounded by the entire cast of Sesame Street - including Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Elmo, and Grover.

Teigen showed the video to Luna and filmed her adorable reaction watching her daddy along with all these beloved characters.

“When John first posted this video to Instagram, Luna had no idea what Sesame Street was,” Teigen wrote in her post. “She was sick and couldn’t go to set when John was filming so all the characters made this video for her. This is her first time watching it and knowing how freaking epic it is.”

Luna's reaction as she's watching her dad, and this giant group of friendly muppets, is adorable and heart-warming. You can literally see the moment that her new obsession with Sesame Street is born.

15 Then She Throws You A Sesame Street-Themed Party

It was a Pinterest party to end all Pinterest parties. On April 14, 2018, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend threw their little Sesame Street-loving toddler a bright, colorful second birthday party that no one will ever forget.

Chrissy began teasing pics and videos of the decor on Twitter and Instagram earlier in the day. She uploaded a video of a still-under-construction, three-tiered home-made cake, as well as the stunning final product, which features Cookie Monster, Big Bird, and Elmo.  "Happy birthday, loons!!! Mommy and daddy are killing the cake game," was the caption for the final cake shot. (I don't envy whoever had to cut into the soft cakey heads of those beloved Sesame Street characters).

She also posted a video showing incredible life-sized balloon characters outside in the yard, and Luna posing in front of balloons and a giant "2", with the caption: "Thank you @pamperspure for helping celebrate our big girl’s 2nd birthday! Luna’s rocking her llama diaper under this birthday suit! Aaaaaannnnd Pampers made a donation to the Southeast Llama Rescue in honor of this day. Thanks for making her day so special! #llamabutt forever!"

Birthday party success!

14 She'll Give You Autonomy

Chrissy Teigen may have made a career out of her beauty, but this supermodel mama isn't about to rush into getting her little daughter Luna's ears pierced.

In fact, she recently told E! News that she was going to let Luna decide when (if at all) she wants to get her ears pierced, eluding to a possible childhood trauma wherein it sounds like her mom pierced her own ears: “I remember when I was little what I went through. My mom did it for me,” she told E!.

“She doesn’t have her ears pierced, and I’m going to let her decide when she wants to do that,” she was quoted as saying at a launch party for Forevermark Tribute Collection jewelry line, adding:

"I would love to be able to give Luna maybe a customized piece of jewelry. I think there's something really beautiful about her name—the way it's written. I think when John and I were picking a name, we wanted something that sounded beautiful. Of course, John is big on the sound of things."

"I was thinking more about how it was written and it's just so feminine and so beautiful the way you write it, that I love it in like maybe a nameplate necklace or something would be so cute on her."

13 She'll Profess Her Love To You For All The World To Go "Aaawwww"

Chrissy Teigen has been open about the fact that she always wanted to be a mom, and the heartache she experienced suffering from infertility. Luna was conceived via IVF, and any family who's gone through the long, invasive and painful procedures will tell you that children born after infertility feel like living miracles.

If you follow Chrissy on social media, you'll see how much she adores her little girl (and the little boy she's about to welcome next!). One such touching example is when Chrissy commemorated Luna's first birthday - on April 14, 2017, with a beautiful family photo on Instagram, and an even more heartwarming caption:

Happy first birthday Lu!!!! My lovebug. You are all the best parts of the both of us and I cannot believe how much has happened in you first 12 months of life. We love you to the luna and back.”

She also expressed her love for Luna in an interview with ET, according to Glamour.com:

"It's the little smiles that get you. ... There is no feeling like that first little smile, your first Mother's Day, which was so beautiful and sweet to me. The entire day my eyes were on the verge of tears because I was so happy."

12  She'll Rap You A Bedtime Story

Luna's a lot luckier than my kids. I have a tendency to race through bedtime stories without even bothering to stifle my yawns, often skipping pages so that the plot is such nonsense, no one can even follow what's going on. And don’t even get me started on their favorite books, which I’ve been known to hide under beds and inside drawers to avoid having to read them for the 4,572nd time.

Chrissy Teigen, on the other hand, takes bedtime stories to the next level. In July 2017, Teigen posted an adorable Instagram video showing her rapping through the classic Sandra Boynton book, Barnyard Dance. Luna, wearing a onesie that said "Gangsta napper", stood on the couch beside her, bouncing along to the rhythm. And yes, it's utterly adorable. In fact, bedtime at the Teigen-Legend house looks as cozy as could be. Chrissy’s Instagram account is full of lovely, cuddly, snoozy shots of Luna in the arms of her mom or dad, being rocked and hugged, or else blissfully snoozing. We can’t wait until Baby #2 arrives this summer, and for her Instagram feed to be flooded with even more adorable Teigen-Legend baby shots.

11 She'll Put You In Matching Family Onesies

Gah, I've always wanted to do this. The closest I've been able to get is having everyone dress up in plaid shirts and sit in front of the fire pretending to see Santa out the window. This photo is WAY better.

Last New Year, Teigen posted this awesome pic on Instagram showing her, along with her mom, John, and Luna wearing matching red-and-white striped onesies, and standing in front of a truly enormous Christmas tree.

For the record, if you put in me in horizontal-striped onesies - pregnant or otherwise - I'd look more like an Oompa Loompa than anything else, but also, I'm not Chrissy Teigen, so there's that.

Teigen's mom, Vilailuck Teigen - who apparently is even wittier than her daughter - lives with them in their Beverly Hills mansion, according to Bustle.com.

"It's so helpful to have her live with us," Chrissy told Popsugar.com. "She's the most incredible grandma. Luna is so close with her. 'Yāy' means grandmother in Thai, so she goes 'Yāy!' all day long, and it's just fun because my mom is a kid at heart. She just has so much energy, and I just lug myself at this point," Chrissy said.

Chrissy's father Ron (Vialiluck's husband) lives 10 minutes down the road.

"'He comes by every day and they’re married," Chrissy said, of her parents' living arrangements, according to The Daily Mail. "It just works for them. It’s a good family life. We’re all very close, very tight–knit."

10 You'll Travel To The Most Amazing Places

Mini vacays for my family involve a trip to a local attraction within a 45-minute drive from our home, or maybe - if everyone's lucky - somewhere a bit further afield that necessitates an overnight stay at a Super 8 with an indoor pool.

Not so for Chrissy Teigen's lucky little one. Mini vacays for the Teigen-Legend family involve flights across the Pacific, for little getaways to, say, Disney in Hong Kong. Earlier this year, Chrissy posted photos to social media of the family enjoying all that Disney has to offer, and by the looks of it, little Luna was in paradise (I mean, wouldn't we all be?).

There were shots of Luna sitting in John Legend's lap, dressed as Belle from Beauty and the Beast. And others of Luna dressed as Minnie Mouse, ears and all.

They've also taken amazing (judging by the Instagram pics) family vacays to Hawaii, Italy, and Thailand.

Can Chrissy Teigen hurry up and adopt me already? I love my mom, but I'm also really jonesin' for a vacation somewhere warm and tropical.

9 These Are Her Cinnamon Rolls!

So, word on the street is that Chrissy Teigen is a mad (as in "amazing") cook. This could be thanks to her mom, Vilailuck, who loves to cook, and is famous for her home-made Thai food.

In fact, Chrissy has been food blogging for years (at SoDelushious.com). And, in April 2018, she released her own cookbook, Cravings, which features incredible comfort food recipes like chicken pot pie soup, fried chicken wings with honey butter, and macaroni and cheese with garlic breadcrumbs, according to Popsugar.com. She even devoted an entire chapter of her cookbook to Thai recipes that she learned from her mom.

“I spent the past three years trying to prove to people that I love food, I love cooking,” she recently told People magazine. “And that I have a passion for it that’s beyond just wanting to be a model in the food world.”

“It was always important to me that the people that I love and respected knew that I wasn’t trying to step on their toes,” she said. “Because there is nothing that I would hate more than a real, proper chef—who was trained and owns a restaurant and is working their ass off—to ever have any kind of comparison to somebody [like me].”

8 She Loves Hallowe'en

Now, this is something I can get behind: Chrissy Teigen loves dressing up in costume, as made evident during Luna's first Hallowe'en in 2016, when she couldn't decide what she should wear - so she wore EVERYTHING.

There was a hot dog costume (with the caption: “have you ever seen a more ‘why me?’ face 😭"), a peacock (caption: “You can't possibly think I only bought the hot dog banana costume"), Minnie Mouse (“please help I can’t stop,”), a banana, Little Red Riding Hood, Alice in Wonderland, a Pink Lady from Grease, and a hula dancer. And those are just the ones she posted on social media.

It was almost like 2016 was just a practice year, because, for Hallowe'en 2017, the hilarious family paid homage to Copacabana, with Chrissy dressing up as Carmen Miranda, John as Groucho Marx, and Luna as the most adorable pineapple you've ever seen.

They even hosted an epic Halloween party, turning their stunning L.A. backyard into a cemetery, according to Popsugar.com.

Honestly, we can't wait to see what the next few Hallowe'ens bring us from the Teigen-Legend household and to find out what amazing costumes little Luna will be wearing this year.

7 She Unabashedly Loves Toys

I remember getting my toddler a mini piano for her birthday, and quietly playing with it every night for a week before I gave it to her, dreaming of what else I could buy her in the years to come so that I could re-live my own toy-filled childhood.

I will budge in line when it's slip-n-slide time in our backyard and have been known to elbow my kids out of the way while coloring with them in their Paw Patrol books. And, on Christmas morning, I'm as giddy as they are to see what LOL Doll is inside that little plastic ball.

I get the sense that Chrissy Teigen is a bit of a kindred spirit in this sense. At Christmas, 2016, Chrissy posted a photo of her holding a giant Hatchimals egg with the caption: "We are all pretending this is for Luna."

For anyone who doesn't know what these crazy egg toys are, they are little critters that hatch out of an egg, and then evolve as they are played with. They were the gift of the year that Christmas and most retailers had sold out of them by Black Friday, according to Romper.com.

Lucky Luna!

6 The Book "The Giving Tree" Makes Her Cry

There's much more to Chrissy Teigen than sarcasm, Twitter wars and Instagram pics of food (although we love her for all of those things). Chrissy Teigen is also super sentimental. I mean - why wouldn't she be? She's just like the rest of us!

Chrissy took to Twitter, in 2016, to share her thoughts on the classic tear-jerker The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein (about a little boy who spends his life taking from an endlessly giving apple tree, until the tree is merely a stump and the little boy has grown to be an old man. And it ends "And the tree was happy"). Its meaning is different for everyone, but many see it as an analogy of the relationship between a parent and their child. I'm choking up just writing this.

"Can't read the giving tree without crying, despite having read it 100 times," Teigen wrote on Twitter.

Then: “I get it. I am the tree. Luna is the old man."

And, with humor never far behind: "But what if she doesn't get that and thinks all her friends are trees?”

Yep, she's right. How do we find a balance between giving as much of ourselves as possible to our children, without them taking more than they should of us, or anyone/anything in their lives?

Gah, raising kids is hard.

5 She Wants ALL The Puppies

It's almost a childhood cliche: Kid beg parents for a puppy, parents don't want to deal with the added responsibility. Kid promises to walk, feed, pick up after the dog, parents know better and put their feet down.

Well, Chrissy Teigen's kids will likely never know this struggle. The supermodel is straight up dog-obsessed. In fact, both she and husband John Legend are crazy about their beloved four-legged friends, according to Barkpost.com. Before they welcomed daughter Luna into the world, they were already proud puppy parents to Puddy the Bulldog, Pippa the Frenchie, and Penny the three-legged Frenchie. All three pups have been frequent subjects of Instagram posts.

Sadly, in March 2017, the couple said goodbye to their bulldog Puddy.

“Today our baby, Puddy, has gone on to the pup heavens," Chrissy posted on Instagram. "John and I got Puddy in our first year of dating, when I convinced him half-birthday presents were a real thing.”

"Ten years ago, on May 30th, I found the dog that would be there for us through every up, down, new house, new city, new tour, new travel... He was there for everything. Every time I needed a taste tester, someone to kiss or needed to sob into his stinky rolls, he was there. It's true what they say. We are their entire lives and it is the greatest shame that they can only bless us with a short spark of time in ours."

I'm not crying, you're crying.

4 She'll Indulge You In Junk Food... 'Cuz She Loves It Too

Chrissy Teigen has made no secret of her love for food. If you follow her on Instagram, you'll be regularly treated to mouth-watering snaps of incredible restaurant meals or home-cooked creations that'll make you jealous of her metabolism. She's even just released her very own cookbook, and often lauds her mother (whom she's photographed hanging home-made sausages from light fixtures!) as being a huge source of inspiration in her foodie life.

But it's not just the gourmet meals that make Chrissy Teigen's mouth water.

“I just learned the hard way that McDonald’s doesn’t serve fries before 10:30? Looks like we have another battle to fight, team," she once posted on Twitter. As well as this short, to-the-point lament: “I need Taco Bell.”

And she once told the Daily Beast: “I have never been ashamed to say that I love really dirty food that maybe has high-fructose corn syrup, maybe the ingredients have stuff from old yoga mat parts or whatever.”

I guarantee that if Chrissy Teigen were your mother, you'd get epic greasy pizza dinners, spontaneous trips to 7-Eleven for Slurpees and nachos, and movie nights with all the best candy. With zero shame, too!

3 She's Straight Up Hilarious

If a sense of humor is genetic, then Luna and Baby #2 are going to be stand-up comics. Instead of listing all the ways that Chrissy Teigen cracks us all up, I'm going to share some of her most on-point and hilarious Twitter one-liners. Enjoy!

"I woke up and thought John went the gym but nope. china."

"I always have a note in my pocket that says "john did it" just in case I'm murdered because I don't want him to remarry "

"making mom talk like a baby in the background of my room service call because it's illegal for adults to order off the kids menu"

"Remember that one time I went into a store because I liked a dress on the mannequin but it turned out to be a mannequin store"

"I'm at the age where I want to eat beef stew but then still go "be around cool people" after"

"honestly upset i have not been invited to the westminster dog show especially with the amount of people who call me a dog daily on twitter"

"4:30am, eating a sausage mcmuffin and looking up the gestation period of animals"

"I could go like...4 hours before I would excitedly tell someone I was a spy"

Seriously, I could go on forever but that's enough for now, dear readers.

2 She's Honest About How Her Body Has Changed From Babies

Ya, she's a swimsuit model. Ya, she's absolutely stunning. But she's also got "flaws" like the rest of us, and she's not ashamed to say so. And bless her for this.

First of all, let me address the fact that "flaws" is in quotes. That's because beauty is subjective, and "imperfections" like stretch marks, cellulite, post-baby chub (or even chub regardless of a baby) shouldn't be classified as flaws. That's because they happen to all of us. But, because society demands that we women strive for perfection, things like stretch marks and scars will continue to be classified as "flaws".

It's totally unfair, which is why we love Chrissy Teigen for holding a magnifying glass to her own seemingly perfect body and shouting: "Look!"

In April 2015, Chrissy Teigen took to Instagram to share with the world her stretch marks, and fans loved her for it.

"I have those apps, the Facetune and Photoshopping ones, and I just didn't feel like doing it anymore - and I’m never doing it again, because I think we forget what normal people look like now," she said in an interview on The Meredith Vieira Show, according to The Daily Mail.

"The standard is so ridiculous. I mean, people are nip-tucking [their pictures]. "It’s gotten to a point where they’re not smoothing their skin anymore. They are actually changing the shape of their body and everybody else - nobody can compare to that when you’re fixing yourself so much. It's so unfair."

"It started with Botox and everything, of course, but now it’s just grown into this Photoshop phenomenon and I've seen these women in person, they are not like that. Please know that. I've shot in barely anything with them and it’s just amazing what people do to tweak themselves."

Right on!

1 She Gets Real About Her Struggles Getting Pregnant

It's Infertility Awareness Week, so what better place to end our list of all the ways we wish Chrissy Teigen were our mom, than with a post about her open struggles with infertility, and how she fights back against trolls and critics who question how she conceived her two babies.

Chrissy and John Legend struggled with infertility for several years, and Luna - as well as her soon-to-be little brother, were both conceived through in-vitro fertilization.

“I will say, honestly, John and I are having trouble,” Teigen said in a 2015 on the talk show, FABLife, according to Glamour.com. “We would have kids five, six years ago if it’d happened. But my gosh, it’s been a process.”

She went on: "Anytime somebody asks me if I’m going to have kids, I’m like, 'One day, you’re going to ask that to the wrong girl who’s really struggling, and it’s going to be really hurtful to them. And I hate that.' "

Before becoming pregnant with Baby #2 in 2017, she announced on Twitter that her next child was going to be a boy.

"No, I am not pregnant," she wrote on Twitter. "I said our next baby would be a boy because that is the embryo we have left." Then the trolling began.

One Twitter user asked Chrissy why she didn't "give it a minute to try naturally." And Chrissy replied in the most epic way possible:

"Hi Linda, thanks for asking, you complete witch. I tried for about 9 years. Anything else, let me know!"

Schooled.

A woman who can stand up for herself - and all women - deserve a huge round of applaud. So keep it up, Chrissy Teigen. Your humor, love, strength, sass, and confidence are an inspiration!
