Everything about celebrity parenting can be over the top — including the birth plan. Some stars make big plans for home births, while others pay big bucks for luxurious suites in the best hospitals. Of course, sometimes they have a flair for the dramatic, which can mean that they personalize the experience like nobody can imagine.

The list we have compiled illustrates that celeb kids have been born all around the globe, whether their parents live there or not. We've tracked down birthplaces of the rich and famous from Los Angeles to Cleveland to London to Africa, and some other spots as well.

Some gave birth at home, either accidentally or on purpose, and others in a birthing center or hospitals — and some were born at points in between the two. The setting of the birth can contribute to the drama of the delivery, and these celeb parents are some of the biggest drama queens we've ever seen.

Here are 20 celeb kids who were born in the most unusual places.

19 Seth's Son Born In A Lobby

When the baby is coming, sometimes you don't have time to get to the hospital — even if you are a celebrity. Seth Meyers told the story of his wife Alexi, whose labor with their second child came on strong and fast. While they were in the elevator leaving their building, she knew she wouldn't make it, and by the time they were in the lobby, the baby was coming out.

The late-night television host said his neighbors were nice enough to give them some privacy while the paramedics rushed to the scene. “This is how fast it happened. I called 9-1-1 and over the course of a minute conversation — I basically said, ‘We’re about to have a baby, we’re having a baby, we had a baby.’ I went from someone calling about an emergency to just sharing a good news with a stranger," Seth said on his show. Little Axel Strahl joined big brother Ashe.

18 Khloe's Cleveland Hospital

It can be hard enough to give birth in a hospital near your friends and family. But Khloe Kardashian decided to have her first child hundreds of miles away from home so that she could be close to her boyfriend, Cleveland Cavaliers star Tristan Thompson. That meant giving birth in Ohio instead of the luxurious suites available for celebrities in Los Angeles.

Reportedly, Khloe gave birth at Hillcrest Hospital, part of the renowned Cleveland Clinic. According to a report in Her, the labor and delivery unit went through a big renovation a few years ago, along with other parts of the hospital.  The hospital is ranked among the top 100 hospitals in the United States, so she didn't have to sacrifice quality to be with her beau.

17 Beyonce Rented Out An Entire Hospital Floor

For Queen Bey and Jay-Z, security was a big concern when they had their first baby. So they actually rented out the entire floor on their hospital. Lenox Hill Hospital in New York already had an "executive birthing suite" for its high-class patients, but Bey and Jay went even further.

According to the Today show, the suits feature things like plush robes and plasma screens and the ability to get mani-pedis or a massage and a 24-hour deluxe food service. This was a pretty fancy set-up, and we're sure it cost a pretty penny. The couple welcomed daughter Blue Ivy there in 2011, and there were reports that other parents had a hard time getting in and out of the hospital because of the security upgrades.

16 Shiloh Was Born in Namibia

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were known for their international brood even before they got pregnant with their first child. Angelina had adopted children from Cambodia and Ethiopia already, and she was known for supporting charities in many third-world countries. So she decided to give birth to her first baby like many of the women she has helped in her travels. Little Shiloh was born in a hospital in Namibia.

"I went to a hospital in Namibia, where I was having my daughter, and I was in breech. I needed a C-section, and I knew I was in breech because I had had the money to have an ultrasound. But I found even the local hospital with many, many women — and this was a good hospital — did not have an ultrasound machine," Angelina said in an interview later.

"So the number of women that didn’t know they were in breech, the number of babies and complications when they got into labor, [could be solved] with one simple machine. But I know there are many extraordinary people who are working on this and women’s health around the world, and many groups dedicated solely to that, and their work is so needed and these solutions can come."

15 Mariah's Concert Setting

For this section, we're not talking about an unusual place so much — although we are sure that Mariah Carey paid big bucks to have the best hospital room she could for the birth of her twins Moroccan and Monroe. Her husband Nick Cannon said Mariah shut the concert down and she was a total diva, playing a live concert album of hers during the C-section.

"Now my wife wanted to make sure that when the babies came out, that they came out not only to a Mariah Carey song but a live performance from Mariah Carey—her Madison Square performance of 'Fantasy'—so they came out to a round of applause," Nick said.

14 Sterling's Son Born In A Bathroom

Remember watching Sterling K. Brown help his wife deliver their baby at home on "This Is Us"? That actually happened to him in real lie, when his son Andrew was born. “She comes crawling out of the bathroom after a while and she’s like ‘I think I’m crowning,’" Sterling said on Live with Kelly.

“I’m asleep kinda; I’m like, ‘Sweetheart, you can’t be crowning. It’s your first baby. Just try to relax.’ I’m mansplaining what’s happening to her body.”

While on the phone with the midwife, Sterling caught the baby when he came out, and he was born crying and healthy, right there on the bathroom floor.

13 Maya's Accidental Home Birth

When moms make birth plans, babies laugh. Nothing went according to plan for funny girl Maya Rudolph when she gave birth to her second child. Little Lucille was born in a surprise home birth since there was no time to get to the hospital.

“[A homebirth] was not my plan, but that’s what happened … because the baby came out really fast,” Maya said in an interview afterward. “Luckily, she just kind of glided into her father’s arms,” Maya said that the birth was kind of a blessing in disguise because she doesn't love hospitals, but it still had its challenges.

“You have to put the placenta somewhere and I didn’t know it at the time, but someone put it in my freezer,” she added. ”Then a couple of weeks later I opened the freezer and was like, ‘What is that weird meat?’ Apparently, a lot of cultures eat it. I did not do that, so don’t worry, I’m not a weirdo.”

12 Evangeline's Thunderous Birth Story

Evangeline Lilly spent years portraying a woman struggling to live on an island in the elements on the show "Lost." But when it was time to give birth to her first child, she chose a really similar setting. Her partner is Hawaiian, so Evangeline was on an island when she planned to give birth outdoors — and the baby was born in a thunderstorm.

The experience took 30 hours, including eight hours of pushing, which is something that we wouldn't wish on anybody, no matter where they gave birth. But Evangeline described the experience as "romantic," and she named the baby Kahekili after the Hawaiian word for thunder because of the ordeal.

11 Brangelina's Twins Born In France

When Brad and Angelina's twins were on the way, they still wanted an international setting for the birth. At this point, in addition to their adopted children born in Cambodia, Vietnam, and Ethiopia, their oldest biological child was born in Namibia, so a Hollywood birth seemed out of the question.

The couple had a home in southern France, and that is where they decided to remain for the end of the pregnancy. She ended up being flown to the hospital in a helicopter, where she had twins Vivienne and Knox via C-section. Afterward, Nice Mayor Christian Estrosi proclaimed the twins honorary citizens of the city of their birth. Angelina has a tattoo of the latitude and longitude of the places where her children were born, and the last two are the only ones that are matching.

10 Josie Gave Birth On the Family Farm

The birth of a baby is definitely a personal thing, and actress, model, and cosmetics company owner Josie Maran said she couldn't imagine anything more perfect than having her baby on the family farm. She planned a birth outside for her first child, and she wrote on a blog that she planned the same thing for her second child.

"If you want my advice (!), I’d suggest that you explore all your options and then decide what’ll work best for you (and convince the others involved, if necessary)," she wrote in a blog for People.

The location worked for the birth of both of Josie's little ones Rumi and Indi. "There was nothing but love in the air, and I’m sure that helped Indi make her way into our arms in only four hours," she wrote in a follow up after the birth.

9 Gwyneth's Luxury Suite

Luxury housing in New York City goes for a premium, and so do birthing suites. Gwyneth Paltrow ended up paying a lot for luxury when she had her little boy Moses at Mount Sinai Medical Center, where her multi-room suite had a view of Central Park. The center features hotel-quality rooms, fancy sleeper chairs, and "spa-inspired bathrooms," with expensive tile and mirrors. There are also services including massages and mani-pedis and a special high tea time, which is perfect since Gwyneth's then-husband was British rocker Chris Martin. There was no expense spared for the birth of little Moses, according to reports.

8 Teyana's Bathroom Birth

Talk about coming quickly. Teyana Taylor didn't realize she was in labor until her little girl was crowning, which meant that she had no choice but to give birth to her daughter Junie in the bathroom.

"She came out as a wonderful surprise to everyone!" Teyana wrote of the birth on Instagram. "Not knowing I was in labor until I felt her head...it took two ten count pushes with my fiancé playing Dr and she entered this world into his bare hands!"

The little girl was wrapped up in a bath towel, and the parents tied off her umbilical cord with a red headphone cord while they waited for paramedics to arrive. What a memorable, crazy experience for the singer and actress.

7 Jessa's Home-Birth-Turned Hospital Stay

For some moms, there ends up being a couple of locations for labor and delivery, especially if something goes wrong. That is what happened to Jessa Duggar Seewald. She gave birth to her first child Spurgeon at home, but not long afterward, her mom called 911 because Jessa was bleeding excessively.

She ended up going to the hospital, where the doctors and nurses were able to get the situation under control, and Jessa reportedly got a blood transfusion. Postpartum hemorrhage is a fairly common complication from childbirth, and Jessa is lucky that she was close enough to get to the hospital in time for that to be taken care of. Her birth locations prove that moms who plan on home births should have a plan B just in case a medical emergency arises.

6 Eva Gave Birth In Bed

Some women are more comfortable giving birth at home, where they think that they can feel more relaxed and be surrounded by loved ones. Eva Amurri Martino, the model, actress, and daughter of Susan Sarandon thought she would prefer to be at her house during her birth, and her husband filled a birthing pool to get ready for a water birth. But Eva ended up most comfortable in her own bed, and that is where she gave birth to her second child, son Major. And the best part is that as soon as she cleaned up, she could take a nap.

5 Gwyneth's Birthing Pool

This section is about a girl having a right to change her mind. We've already told you that Gwyneth Paltrow gave birth in a swanky Upper East Side birthing center, but before that, she actually planned to have a home birth.

People were spotted bringing birthing pools into her home outside London, and she also had a pool stationed at her mother Blythe Danner's house in Los Angeles. Gwyneth ended up giving birth in New York, so you could say that she had lots of options, and she changed her mind a lot. Celebrities may have more choices available to them, but this just goes to show that it is all right to change your mind.

4 The Spice Girl Suite

Did you know there is a labor and delivery room in Los Angeles known as the Spice Girls suite? It might no longer have the moniker, but it was dubbed that in 2011 when Mel B — Scary Spice — told people that she was booked to give birth in the same hospital suite as her bandmate Victoria Beckham, — Posh Spice — who had given birth to her daughter Harper just a few months before.

The spot at Cedars Sinai Medical Center is probably pretty posh and opulent itself, with special services and lots of security for celeb moms. It's apparently the place to give birth if you are a pop star.

3 Katherine's South Korean Adoption

Celebrities have adopted babies from all over the world. We think it's amazing the way these families are coming together, so we thought we would highlight on here. Katherine Heigl first became a mom when she adopted her daughter Naleigh from South Korea, and she was open about how tough the process was. Naleigh was 10 months old at the time of the adoption, and she had a hard time bonding with the girl.

“I fought very hard to be accepted as a mom by my daughter. Her rejection almost broke my heart," Katherine said in an interview, adding that the girl bonded with her husband Josh Kelley more quickly. “It takes time for a child to trust this new situation and to trust you. My advice is don’t be discouraged. The reward [of adopting] is so great.

2 British Actress Gives Birth On the Street

For one British actress, the hospital was just a few dozen steps too far away. Vivian Gray ended up giving birth on the street in London just a short distance from the hospital. According to the Daily Mail, she thought that she had plenty of time to walk to the hospital, but things got too intense and she didn't make it.

Vivian's mom put her Burberry coat down for Vivian to sit on and she ran to the hospital to get help. The nurses came quickly, but the baby was born right there on the expensive coat. "It was as if my body was doing all the work and I had no power over this pushing sensation," Vivian said in an interview. Little baby Sky was born healthy, and after a few hours being checked out at the hospital, the family headed home again.

1 Clooney Twins' International Arrival

When your parents are international celebrities, there is no telling where you will be born. George Clooney and his wife Amal had a lot of choices for the arrival of their twins — they could have been born in Hollywood or near George's house on Lake Como. But instead, their arrival happened near Amal's home base.

The babies were born in London at St. Mary's Hospital, according to Travel and Leisure. Does the name of that hospital sound familiar? Yes, we are talking about the same hospital where Kate and William have welcomed their royal kids. About a month after the birth, the babies traveled to Italy to George's Lake Como home, and they have been international travelers ever since.
