In her 2018 album Queen, Nicki Minaj gives shout-outs to Desiigner, Fetty Wap, and 50 Cent. The Weeknd might be missing a letter, but the guy knows how to pen a lyric. Rappers might take on statement stage names, but the hip-hop lifestyle is something that they go the whole hog on. Words are their bread and butter, the basis for their art, and something that can make or break their careers. Words are also something that they'll use liberally when it comes to naming their kids.

14 years ago, Gwyneth Paltrow was making headlines for calling her daughter Apple Martin. The "crazy" baby name was only getting started, though. Madonna jumped on the bandwagon with Lourdes Leon. Angelina Jolie gave us Shiloh-Nouvel. When Khloe Kardashian named her baby True, nobody was surprised. We've almost reached the point where we expect a weird (or somewhat wacky) baby name from celebrities– it's worked out just fine for Brooklyn Beckham, Paris Jackson, and Suri Cruise. Sliding over to the rap area of Hollywood though, and we'll see these taken to the extremes. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. From Cardi B, Kanye West, and Tyga to the lesser-known names that Master P and P. Diddy have chosen, we'll be taking a look at the rapper baby names that have definitely given us something to think about. Here are 20 of the weirdest (and best) celeb baby names.

20 Messiah Ya'Majesty

And this is why we write lists about rappers and their baby names. With all the swag in the world, T.I is just the kind of rapper who can pull off naming his kid Messiah Ya'Majesty. Of course, there will be those of us who find it just a tiny bit overdone. Think about it for a minute. Not Messiah or Ya'Majesty. Messiah and Ya'Majesty. This is what the dubbed "King of the South" chose to name his eldest son. When Messiah turned 13, T.I. threw his son a lavish birthday bash complete with an Egyptian pyramid cake. T.I. is also a dad to six other children, including Heiress and Major.

19 North West

Half the excitement of a Kardashian pregnancy is wondering what these mega-famous parents will name their child. In 2013, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West welcomed their first child. No way was this power couple going to settle for an ordinary name. North West is the name that they chose for their baby girl, and this five year-old is already a squad queen. Speaking to The Mirror, Kris Jenner said: "The way Kim explained to me was that north means highest power, and she says that north is their highest point together." North West is definitely unusual, but admit it– the name is super witty.

18 Saint West

Kanye has referred to himself as a "God" and a "genius"– join the dots, here... Filling North West's little ballet shoes? Tough going. The problem with choosing a statement name for your first baby isn't one that you have to deal with– until baby number two comes along. In 2016, KimYe welcomed their second child. Saint West is Kanye West's first and only son, and this baby comes with a name to match. Kanye believes that "people live up to their names." According to Glamour, though, the name was inspired by Kim's gratefulness after a particularly challenging pregnancy. Still, Saint is setting the bar pretty high.

17 Percy, Vercy, Mercy, and Hercy

Call this quadruple-whammy of names inspirational. Call it the exact opposite. Either way, these are the names that Master P chose for four of his nine children. Percy Robert Miller is a rapper with $250 million to his name and one of the largest families in the hip-hop world. We'll assume that his son, Percy, is named as a "Jr" version of the rapper's real name. Mercy, Hercy, and Vercy? Presumably, rhyme was an important factor in the baby naming process for Master P. His other children are named Tytyana, Veno, Inty, Cymphonique, and Itali– yes, with an "i." #LiterallyWow

16 Stormi Webster

Stormi Webster may have the world's most-famous mommy, but this baby finds herself on this list because she fits the criteria– her dad, Travis Scott is one of 2018's biggest rappers. Nobody expected Kylie Jenner's baby announcement, although that suspect absence from social media did have fans guessing. Speaking to Cosmpolitan, Kylie said: "I really don't know how we thought of Storm. I didn't really like Storm– I didn't feel like that was her name. So it became Stormi. And it just stuck." Just recently, Kylie captioned her Instagram post: "A storm came in to save my life." Both Kylie and Scott are proving that they can be hands-on parents.

15 Blue Ivy

Make what you will of the name Blue Ivy, but facts are facts. This celeb 6 year-old has parents worth a joint $1.16 billion, not to mention the world's biggest fan base. Beyonce and Jay-Z rule hip-hop, R&B, and half of pop. These two having a baby and not picking a statement name would almost have been a disappointment. Blue Ivy feels fancy, but fans have speculated that the meaning of the name is more deep-rooted. When Beyonce posted a passage of the book, A Field Guide to Getting Lost, fans wondered if this was a clue to the name. Then again, their next choice was anything but vague...

14 Sir and Rumi

Just to get things into perspective– there are 993,932 results for #QueenBey on Instagram. When your parents are music royalty, it's expected that you will have a name fit for a king. In June 2017, Beyonce and Jay Z welcomed twins. They named them Sir and Rumi. In a W Magazine interview, Jay Z revealed the meanings behind the names. Rumi is named after the couple's "favorite poet"– a 13th-century Persian lyricist. Sir? That one is a little more out there. "Sir was like, man, come out the gate," Jay Z told Rap Radar. "He just carries himself like that. He just came out, like Sir."

13 Lion

Are you ready for something beautiful? The story behind DJ Khaled's baby name choice is one of the most powerful things we've ever heard. This rapper and DJ welcomed his baby boy, Asahd in 2016. While the birth was live-streamed on Snapchat, it's Khaled's more-recent message that just makes you melt. "Every morning I tell Asahd: I love you. I got you. But the truth is, he got me. He's what gives me hope and purpose. He's my inspiration and my motivation." He added, "He is my legacy, my love, my lion.  That's what Asahd means. Love did that." Asahd means "lion" in Arabic.

12 Cali Dream

Hey, the California Dream is a big deal. For The Game, it's such a big deal, it's worth naming your child after. Jayceon Terrell Taylor, a.k.a. The Game first became a dad in 2003. Harlem Caron was joined by King Justice in 2007. It was in 2010 that the amperage got cranked up 100%, though. California "Cali" Dream has never had her name explained by her father, but does he really need to do any explaining? The Game was raised in low-income housing in the notorious Compton, California. Gritty downtown LA was no "California Dream" before this rapper made it. Now he has a daughter to celebrate it.

11 Dazyna

"If you grew up with holes in your zapatos, you'd celebrate the minute you was having dough." Jay-Z didn't mince his words when he was rapping about appreciating the contrast between wealth and poverty. Alongside rappers like 50 Cent and Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z grew up with the hardships of poverty. So did Flavor Flav (real name, William Jonathan Drayton Jr.) Head-to-toe Versace and Louis Vuitton are how your average rapper rolls, although not all rappers go as far as naming their kids after designer goods. Flavor Flav has six kids. Dazyna hasn't had an official explanation– the message probably being: "figure it out for yourself."

10 Kulture

On anyone else? Fans would be sending out catty comments. 100% pulling off the choice of "Kulture", is the fastest-rising rap star of 2018. Cardi B needs to introduction. This hard-hitting loudmouth tells it like it is, and she knows how to make a word work. Six months after Cardi's 2017 engagement to Offset's Migos, Cardi B announced her pregnancy. Her baby arrived in 2018, and Cardi named her daughter Kulture. The only explanation Cardi has given is to SNL. We think she summed it up pretty well: "Anything else would have been basic," Cardi said about her baby's unique name.

9 Adonis

Everyone has the right to their privacy. When you're an international celebrity, that can get tricky. In 2018, Drake finally acknowledged his son, Adonis. This came after a stir of rumors from the rapper, Pusha T, who didn't exactly take the friendly route when it came to "outing" Drake's son. Drake is an artist who can speak for himself, though. "I wasn't hiding my kid from the world," Drake raps on his Scorpion album, "I was hiding the world from my kid." Drake's baby momma likely picked the Adonis name. Adonis was the Greek mythology lover of Aphrodite, but the name equally means "God's blessing" in the Bible.

8 Exodus

This one comes with a touch of embarrassment. The rapper best-known as DMX might have sold millions of records, but when it comes to keeping track of his own kids, DMX has a harder time. In 2016, DMX welcomed his 15th child– a girl named Exodus. While he told TMZ that the newest arrival was a "blessing," DMX had a harder time on The Ricky Smiley Morning Show. The hosts congratulated the rapper on his newest baby, but when DMX was prompted to name the other 14, he struggled. According to Digital Music News (and the footage that we listened to), DMX manages around nine or ten.

7 Rocket

With his crisp voice and cheeky charm, you could say that Pharrell Williams was born to entertain. The Despicable Me 2 singer also happens to put his money where his mouth is– on an appearance with Oprah, Pharrell confirmed that the music industry influenced his choice of baby names. Rocket was named after an Elton John track. Rocket is definitely a statement name, but you've only got to look at Rocket's dad to see that sleek swag runs in the family. Pharrell even wrote Despicable Me 2's "Rocket Theme" in honor of his son. Pharrell has since become a dad to triplets.

6 King Cairo

Tyga has been making headlines of late– "Kylie Jenner's Ex, Tyga Takes Credit For Her Success" was InStyle's story in September 2018. Tyga has a lot going for him, though. Tyga's pride and joy might appear to be his music, but this rapper loves something much closer to home. At the age of 22, Tyga became a dad. He chose King Cairo Stevenson for his son's name– this kid has been getting the royal treatment, big time. Mini cars including a gray Range Rover and a black matte Lamborghini were part of King Cairo's first birthday gifts.

5 Future

When you don't know where to turn for inspiration in rap, turn to yourself, right? Future is a rapper who has had every one of his albums from 2015 onwards debut at #1. If that doesn't earn a well-merited ego, we don't know what does. Future is a father of four. His most famous baby momma is Ciara, to whom Future was engaged in 2013. Together, they had a son, Future Zahir Wilburn. Future's three other kids are named Jessica, Brittni, and India. Future's 2017 album is also called Future. To be fair, Future is an easier name to pull off that Future's other 2017 album, Hndrxx.

4 Royalty

It's been a long road for Chris Brown. The rapper's inexcusable behavior to Rihanna back in 2009 hasn't been forgotten, but Chris has worked hard to rebuild the trust and faith of his fans. With over 40 million Instagram followers, Chris is one of 2018's biggest faces. Following the rap world's love of names that "say it big," Chris named his daughter Royalty. In 2018, TMZ reported that Chris Brown and "baby momma" Nia Guzman had "called a truce" in their custody war. Together, they threw a $30,000 birthday party for Royalty. This cutie is now aged four. She is all over Chris' Instagram.

3 Moroccan and Monroe

And they probably own their own islands. Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon were once a couple. While Nick Cannon has carved himself out a decent career, it's nothing compared to the legacy that Mariah has become. With a staggering $535 million to her name, Mariah Carey is one of the richest musicians of all time. In typical Mariah style, this couple's twins are named Moroccan and Monroe. Monroe is named after the pin-up icon, Marilyn Monroe. Moroccan's name origin is a little more specific– he was named after the third tier of Mariah's NYC apartment (which apparently has a "Moroccan room").

2 Cordell

It takes a certain swag to pull off a name like Cordell. Then again, this Cordell is no ordinary child. Snoop Dogg remains one of the biggest hip-hop icons of all time. We might have a ton of autotuned rappers topping charts in 2018, but let's not forget that Snoop stood out– single-handedly trying to end the East Coast vs. West Coast rap feud is no easy feat. Snoop is a father of four. Corde, Cori, Julian, and Cordell. In 2018, Cordell landed his first modeling campaign. Who is Cordell modeling for? Dolce & Gabbana. If that isn't success, we don't know what is.

1 Hailie

Eminem has sold over 47.4 million albums. That number more than doubles for his singles. The money? Eminem never really cared. Easily the wittiest and sharpest rapper of all time, Eminem grew up in the dire poverty of Detroit's trailer parks. With a rocky relationship and baby Hailie born when Em was still very young, this rapper put his wishes into his words. Wanting his daughter, Hailie to "have the life he never had" is the one dream that Eminem wanted to come true. It did. Hailie has a lovely name, but it's how well she is doing that makes Em so proud. Hailie has now graduated from Michigan State University.

You have to make this go viral. Percy, Mercy, Hercy, and Vercy? Messiah Ya'Majesty? Cardi B's Kulture? Hit share on Facebook and get this out.
