It isn’t uncommon for the regular people of the world to be fascinated and completely caught up in celebrity relationships. It’s more than a little exciting to discover that two stars have fallen for each other. It only makes sense that people feel more than a little crushed when a famous duo consciously uncouples.

When kids are involved, splits go from unfortunate to downright sad. If it’s tough to watch a celeb pairing we love call it quits in the love department, the pill that they and their children won’t be a happy family anymore is an even tougher one to swallow.

Every time a celebrity couple announces they are no longer together, their fans mourn the loss of the relationship right along with them. The breakups of Brad and Angelina, Jen and Ben, Anna and Chris and Christina and Tarek have been some of the most devastating splits to date. However, these ends to celeb relationships we all hoped would last forever may pale in comparison to some of the splits that have taken place this past year. The following 20 moms are newly single this year.

20 Jenna Dewan

This past April, Jenna Dewan and her hubby of 9 years Channing Tatum announced they were going their separate ways. Since the split, the two have been pretty tight-lipped, but Dewan recently opened up about the divorce in an interview with Women's Health.

The actress told the mag, “I feel I’ve been on a wave of growth. It’s always challenging to go through a big change and have the whole world have an opinion about it... It’s okay for a relationship to change into a new form that is actually better for both people involved."

Mom to five-year-old daughter Everly continued, “It’s been a journey, and it’s been a transformation of myself—my needs and wants as a woman. I think everyone wants to hold on to what’s in front of them, but when you open your mind, saying, ‘I want what’s best for myself and my daughter,’ you have to be okay with however that looks.”

19 Holly Madison

Former Girls Next Door star Holly Madison and her baby daddy Pasquale Rotella recently announced they were divorcing after nearly 5 years of marriage. According to People magazine, those close to them weren't surprised to hear the news of their decision to split.

Why did they split? OK Magazine has reported that Stiller "may be funny on-screen, but is hard to deal with behind-the-scenes."

The mag also speculated that Stiller's 2014 health issues could have put a strain on the marriage. An insider close to the couple dished to People magazine, “It gets hard — he has a very busy Hollywood career, and she’s been very focused on being a mom.”
