Lots of women like to wait to announce their pregnancy — and even then, sometimes they only like to open up about the experience to a small group of friends and family. Since there can be a lot of dangers of losing the baby in the first trimester, many women want to wait at least that long to let everyone know — and if they are worried about implications at the office, it might be even longer. And those women don't have to worry about the entire world watching.

Celebrities are at a huge disadvantage for keeping any kind of secret, especially one that involves a baby bump. Paparazzi are following them everywhere to get a glimpse of what they are buying in store or ordering from Starbucks. If a movie star comes out of a doctor's office with a sonogram picture, the paps might be close enough to zoom in and break some news with one photo. And people are constantly pouring over pictures to figure out if they can detect a baby bump — although many celebrities have had to correct people that it is just a food baby they are seeing. It's almost impossible to keep a pregnancy a secret without locking the doors and avoiding all windows.

Here are 20 celebs who tried to keep their pregnancy under wraps.

20 Kylie Jenner Baggy Clothes Didn't Fool People

When you grow up as one of the most popular reality stars ever, you might have a hard time having every major moment documented in your teen years. And when you get pregnant at 20, you might want to hide it from the world for a while. That was true for Kylie Jenner, who went from a tween on "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" to one of the top Instagram stars ever that translated into a beauty empire. But after the ups and downs of her first ever real relationship with Tyga were constantly fodder for the tabloids, Kylie wanted to be out of the spotlight when she was becoming a mom. But the paparazzi  pictures gave her away.

One of the first pictures came from the Daily Mail, but Kylie claimed they were doctored. The news outlet said they don't alter photos, and it Kylie's wardrobe of oversized T-shirts wasn't fooling anyone after a while.

Pretty soon, Kylie stopped going pretty much any where that the paparazzi could get a shot, and she also posted few photos to her social media. Kylie's pregnancy was the worst kept secret around until she finally announced it officially a few days after the birth of her daughter Stormi in early 2017.

19 Drew Barrymore Was Caught With A Sonogram Pic

For most of the women on this list, we've talked about the paparazzi getting a glimpse of a baby bump, revealing a celebrity's pregnancy for her. But this time, it was something different that revealed the news. Drew Barrymore, the actress who has been in our hearts since she was a tiny child starring in "E.T." had announced her engagement to Will Kopelman, but a photo let out the secret that Drew was also going to have his baby.

In the picture captured of Drew leaving the doctor's office, you can see Drew carrying a bunch of items. But when the paps zoomed in, you saw that one of them was a sonogram image of a tiny baby.

We were all excited to see Drew, who had such a tough childhood of her own, become a mom, but her rep took a while to confirm the news. After all, that was probably a first-trimester image and Drew wasn't ready to announce it to the world. About nine months later, Drew welcomed her first child, a daughter named Olive. The couple welcomed their second daughter Frankie in 2014, although there was no ultrasound image spotted by a photographer that time around.

18 Eva Mendes Tried To Hide Her Bump With A bag

Eva Mendes is a private person. She doesn't talk about what goes on outside of her movies. And her beau Ryan Gosling is just as tight lipped.

But when Eva was spotted outside of an OBGYN office with a huge purse over her mid-section, everyone finally got a little insight — and we all got excited about the beautiful baby that would be born to the gorgeous couple.

We didn't exactly see the baby bump, but that purse told us all that we needed to know. Sometimes, it's not what you can see but what you can't that can reveal a lot, and these paparazzi pictures prove it.

We don't know much about Eva and Ryan's family, but the paparazzi was able to uncover the pregnancy and even confirm the births of the couples two daughters. They welcomed a little princess named Esmeralda in 2014 and their second sweetheart Amada in 2016. We never got a true bump shot, but we had plenty of interesting photos of Eva doing all that she could to cover up her belly. We haven't seen photos of the babies, and that's OK. We can imagine how incredibly gorgeous those little girls are, and we are certain they have their daddy wrapped around their little fingers.

17 Leighton Meester's  Bump Uncovered At Breakfast

When you are dating your costar, it's not always the best idea to talk about. So Leighton Meester and her boyfriend Adam Brody got used to be secretive in their relationship. They were both involved in hugely popular teen shows last decade, Leighton on "Gossip Girl" and Adam on "The O.C.," but they met while filming the dramedy "The Oranges". And they later filmed "Life Partners" together just as they were becoming life partners in real life. They apparently got married in 2014, the same year the movie came out.

While the two hadn't talked about pregnancy, there was no denying it when the paparazzi captured this gorgeous shot of Leighton out to breakfast.

Her bump is right out front, but we just also love the glow that you can see from her makeup-free face. This was around the time when Leighton's "Gossip Girl" costar Blake Lively had her first child, so it was definitely an exciting time. Leighton didn't seem to mind the paparazzi photo, since she was giving them such a sweet grin. She looks so happy, and that baby is definitely loved. Leighton and Adam reportedly had their little girl, Arlo, in August of 2015, and we're sure that Leighton had just as big of a smile on her face that day too.

16 Every Wanted To Know Who Megan Fox's Baby Daddy Was

Red carpet appearances are always exciting, but they don't always break news. But when Megan Fox appeared at CinemaCon to promote the movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 in 2016, people started talking about more than just the movie. Megan, who became known for her incredible body, had a noticeable bump on board.

And since she had filed for divorce from her husband Brian Austin Green, it really blew everyone's minds. There was no doubt that she was pregnant, but instead of talking about the movie, everyone was talking about who could be the baby daddy.

Megan and Brian already had two sons at that point — Noah and Bodhi, who were still toddlers. The paparazzi had spotted Megan with Brian in recent weeks, but people still wondered if he was the dad. There was speculation that it could be her costar Will Arnett or others. Because she didn't come out and announce the news, and instead let the paparazzi do the talking, there was a gossip storm for a bit. But eventually Brian and Megan announced that he was the father and that they had been working on the relationship. The two did reconcile, and they welcomed son Journey, whose name reflected the path of their marriage through that time.

15 Beyonce Wouldn't Admit It Until Her Famous Unveiling

Beyonce and Jay-Z are the biggest power couple around, and they are followed around by paparazzi everywhere. That was especially true after the infamous elevator fight and in the wake of the release of Beyonce's autobiographical "Lemonade" album, which talked about how Jay cheated on her. The paps may have been looking for more drama and tension between the couple, but they ended up actually exposing great news — that Queen Bey would be having another baby. Every appearance for a while seemed to be a time to break the baby news, whether real or imagined, and people would study each shot to try to see a hint of a baby bump.

There was lots of speculation that another baby would be on the way, thanks to photos like this one of Beyonce in a really bulky coat. But the couple weren't talking about it until they wowed the world with a gorgeous photo of Beyonce's baby bump with a green veil, a flower wall and other iconic images.

The pictures — which also added the news that it's twins — very quickly overshadowed any images that the paps had captured. The couple welcomed little Rumi and Sir in the summer of 2017, and they released another gorgeous photo a month later featuring the same flowers and veil with Beyonce holding her bundles of joy.

14 Khloe Kardashian Was Surrounded By Pregnancy

When half of your sisters are expecting a baby — and you're a Kardashian — it's hard to keep your own baby news under wraps. That's especially true when the paparazzi are following you everywhere you go. Khloe Kardashian did her best to conceal her baby bump until she could announce on her own terms, but when you live your life in front of cameras, not even a baggy sweatshirt and a big purse can conceal the big news.

While sister Kim announced on their reality show that she would welcome a new baby via surrogate and her sister Kylie kept her pregnancy a secret until after the birth, Khloe eventually spilled her truth in an Instagram post of her exposed baby bump cradled by beau Tristan Thompson.

She still had a problem with the paps following her, though. It got so bad that she issued a plea asking them to step back. "It’s the only time I feel incredibly exhausted, swollen and nauseous. Screaming rude things and taking my picture when I really feel like crap I can really do without. At least be quiet if you must," Khloe tweeted after an especially bad encounter at the airport before she welcomed baby True.

13 Isla Fisher We're Not Certain The Baby Was Real

There is this beautiful Hollywood actress who is married to one of the biggest funnymen around. It describes a lot of celebrity couples, but this one is one of the few who don't talk about their private life and keep all of us guessing. We're talking about Isla Fisher, the gorgeous redhead who was the breakout star of "Wedding Crashers," and Sacha Baron Cohen, who is more recognizable as his alter egos Ali G or Borat. The notoriously private couple have three kids, although Isla's Wikipedia page only mentions two because the pair is so sparse with sharing the news.

Us Magazine revealed Isla's third baby bump via a paparazzi picture in October of 2014. The pregnancy was never confirmed by the couple, but it was the reason that Isla was replaced in the sequel to "Now You See Me."

She would be unable to hide the baby bump during the production. We assume that the baby was born, but as we mentioned before, the couple is very private, and they haven't confirmed it. They do have older sisters Olive and Elula listed on their bios, but we don't even know if they had a boy or a girl. The baby bump, though, was undeniable in the paparazzi pictures.

12 Matt Damon Revealed Amal Clooney's Pregnancy

It wasn't the paparazzi that first exposed the pregnancy of Amal Clooney — it was her husband George's good friend Matt Damon, who let the news slip in an interview.

But after the word started to spread, you can bet the paparazzi were following the Most Beautiful Man Alive and his spouse to get pictures of the baby bump. When they got it on film, it was in the most incredible setting around.

Amal was photographed in a grey suit leaving the United Nations after giving testimony on International Woman's Day. The sweet little bump was exciting, but news outlets got some blowback — for good reason. There were way too many headlines talking about Amal "rocking her baby bump," overshadowing the message and the venue. Amal has accomplished a lot, and while we're sure she is proud of her role as a mother, that day was about her career and empowering women beyond motherhood. People on Twitter called out the news orgs for their terrible headlines: "You have to worry about our society when a baby bump is seemingly more remarkable than a speech to the UN on genocide," one Tweet said. Amal continued with her work through her pregnancy, and she is back at it after welcoming twins Alexander and Ella in 2017.

11 People Were Suspicious When Zoe Saldana Turned Down The Ice Bucket Challenge

It's easier to hide a pregnancy if you can stay home, but when you have a movie to promote, you have to be out and about. The red carpets and appearances make it hard to conceal the baby bump, especially when you are notoriously thin as Zoe Saldana.

The media perks up at the slightest bulge, and those pictures are going to be trained on that midsection. That's how Zoe's pregnancy was revealed back in 2014.

Zoe was already a big star, but when she became an Avenger, her star shot up even further. She couldn't pass up all of the publicity for "Guardians of the Galaxy," and while Zoe didn't comment on it, the pictures revealed her situation. The closest Zoe came to commenting was when she declined to do the Ice Bucket Challenge, instead filming while her husband Marco Perego did it. Turns out there were twins on board, and Zoe and Marco welcomed Bowie and Cy later that year. In 2017, Zoe stunned us all because she totally kept her bump out of view before welcoming child No. 3, a boy named. It definitely helped that she didn't have a major blockbuster to promote like she did the first time around.

10 Everyone Thought Kate Winslet Was Having A Fourth, But No

When you don't tell anyone you are pregnant, you might have to do your own stunts. That was true for Kate Winslet, who as pregnant with her third child while filming "Divergent." She didn't tell anyone the news first, and after she did tell, she was still so committed to the role that she kept on doing the stunts. Kate didn't reveal her condition to anyone until after the paparazzi captured a bump shot, and even then she allowed a small confirmation and that was that.

Kate, who has two older children, one with director  Jim Threapleton and one with director Sam Mendes, was really quiet about her major to Ned Rocknroll. They got married in a small ceremony on his uncle Richard Branson's island and very few heard the news. It's no surprise she was mum about their baby, a little boy named Bear. But it's not the only time she has experienced pregnancy rumors.

In 2016, a photo of Kate with Cate Blanchett at the Oscars had people wondering if baby number four was on the way, but that time Kate shut down the rumors in the other direction — her friend was just touching her, not feeling a baby bump.

9 Adele

Paparazzi pics are great at starting rumors, and sometimes that causes notoriously private celebrities to reveal a little of their personal life.

After paparazzi pictures had people wondering if singer Adele was pregnant, she decided to set the record straight and proclaim her good news on her own terms — and send a message that she wanted privacy in the process.

"I'm delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together," Adele wrote on her website (Simon Konecki, her boyfriend was declared the dad-to-be). "I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we're over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx."

The singer is very private — she married Simon, but we only ever knew that because she referred to him as her husband during a Grammy acceptance speech. But we have had a chance to see a few photos of her little boy, a cutie named Angelo that we have seen Adele push around in a stroller a few times, although Adele sued and won to get the photos destroyed. We have heard rumors that she was pregnant with another child, but we haven't seen any evidence of it yet. If Adele has her way, we may never know.

8 Mila Kunis Are Private But Followed Everywhere

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis were adorable as a television couple on "That 70s Show." And we were just elated years later when it turned out that they were dating in real life. Ashton, especially, was so well-loved as an actor, and Mila's star was rising fast. It's not surprising that once people learned that the A-list couple were serious about each other that they would be on the look out for a baby bump.

The paparazzi followed them constantly in hopes of being the first to break the baby news.

And after the birth of their daughter Wyatt brought out all kinds of excitement among the public, it was only a matter of time before the paparazzi pics would show the beginnings of a bump for baby number two. Both times, Ashton and Mila have eventually confirmed the news, and Mila has shown off her baby bump with pride once the news was out, but they couldn't stop the rumors to be the first to tell the news. They officially became a family of four in the fall of 2016 when they had little Dimitri. And we're sure that the paparazzi will be out in force soon trying to catch a glimpse of a baby bump in hopes that baby number three is on the way soon.

7 Kerry Washington Hid Behind Anything "Scandal" Could Think Of

Even though she wasn't the first to announce it publicly, there was no hiding the fact that Kerry Washington was going to have a baby.

It was impossible to hide while she filmed her hit show "Scandal" — although they tried to hide the bump with purses, coats, coaches and big glasses of wine — and it was definitely impossible to hide in real life on the red carpet and at other events promoting her amazingly popular show.

Kerry feigned a shocked face when Jimmy Kimmel congratulated her on the pregnancy in 2016, when Kerry was pregnant with baby number two. Kerry has had this way of being private while also allowing us to celebrate with her, and that was true when she married her husband Nnamdi Asomugha and when she let the baby bump speak for itself when she was pregnant with her first child as well. Kerry embraced her bump and her bump fashion, but she still remained a very private person. We know that her children are named Isabelle and Caleb, but even the paps missed the babies' births, finally catching on about two weeks afterward. Now that "Scandal" has ended, we wonder if Kerry decides to have another baby if we'll even notice without all the beautiful dresses that show off her belly.

6 Anna Paquin's Costar Let It Slip

While Sookie and Bill fell in love on True Bloods, Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, the actors who portray the couple, were also falling in love in real life. The two stayed under the radar for the most part, but they got married in a low-profile ceremony in 2010, and after that, everyone was on baby bump watch. Finally, someone saw a little pudge on Anna's abs during a lunch date, and the couple confirmed that their first child was on the way (Stephen has two from a previous marriage).

The truth, though, was evident as we watched Anna's bump grow a lot quicker than anticipated. She rocked her baby belly at the premiere of "True Blood's" new season. It wasn't just one baby but two.

Anna and Stephen didn't confirm the news, but their costar Sam Trammell, also a father to twins, let the news slip.

We didn't hear much about the babies for a while, and that is because there were complications and the kids were actually born early and had to remain in the hospital for a while. We eventually learned that little Poppy and Charlie were doing well, but Anna and Stephen have remained private about the family, and we only know what the paparazzi has uncovered or the few little tidbits that the stars have revealed on their own terms.

5 Uma Thurman Bump Was Spotted At Fashion Week

We've talked about a lot of stars who paparazzi had in their sights, hoping that they would have a baby after entering into a high-profile relationship. But there are some pictures that came as a surprise. No one thought Uma Thurman would get pregnant a couple of years after ending a high-profile engagement, and with a couple of older children already.

But one New York Fashion Week appearance had people guessing and pretty soon Uma's rep confirmed that indeed that was a baby bump that they spotted.

The "Kill Bill" actress was indeed with child, a baby that she shared with her former fiance Arpad Busson."Yes, Uma is pregnant!" a friend was quoted in She Knows. "She hasn't announced it yet, but a lot of her friends were asking her because they could tell the difference when they saw her at New York Fashion Week. She's usually so skinny, but now she has the cutest little bump and a glow about her." The baby was born later that year and given a huge name Rosalind Arusha Arkadina Altalune Florence, although she goes by the shortened Luna. Unfortunately, paparazzi later had to cover a big custody battle between Uma and Arpad, but the actress remains a great mom to all three of her kids.

4 Natalie Portman's Movie Was So Good She Couldn't Hide Her Bump

Ever since Natalie Portman's character gave birth in a Walmart in "Where the Heart Is," we couldn't wait until the sweet actress had a baby of her own. But Natalie is a notoriously private person, and she was even more so when she fell in love with Benjamin Millipied on the set of "Black Swan."

The two got engaged and were expecting their first child, but there was no way that Natalie could hide it because Black Swan was so amazing that she was the talk of the town and celebrated with lots of awards. The paparazzi were all over it.

“I have always kept my private life private, but I will say that I am indescribably happy and feel very grateful to have this experience,” Natalie said when the news broke. It would have been impossible to deny it when Natalie won an Oscar in a gorgeous dress with a big baby bump. A couple of years later, Natalie let the bump do the talking when she arrived at a movie premiere with an unmistakable belly — that year she had to miss the Oscars, though, because she gave birth to baby number two just days before the ceremony.

3 Brangelina's Bump Was Noticed In Haiti

The baby bump told the tale — and finally, on an international trip, a question from an ambassador revealed the biggest news of celebritidom in the early 21st century. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were going to have a baby.

The tale was told on People, when an official from a non-governmental agency noticed the actress looked rounder on her trip to Haiti.

Brad and Angelina were toting her adopted children Maddox and Zahara, and Angelina confirmed her baby news. The low-key announcement came after the couple fell in love on the set of "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," taking the it couple status from Brad and his first wife Jennifer Anniston, and not long after Brad filed to adopt Maddox and Zahara.

“They’re in love and want to create a life together,” a friend said in the People article. “It’s all the things you dream about, [and] they share the same dreams."

Something similar happened a few years later, when Angelina tried to keep secret her baby bump only to have the paparazzi catch a glimpse. That time it turned out to be twins Knox and Vivienne, who joined Maddox, Zahara, another adopted brother Pax and the child from the first pregnancy, Shiloh.

2 Jennifer Lopez Couldn't Hide It From Fashion Week

When you are rocking a baby bump at New York Fashion Week, you don't really have to announce you are pregnant. Jennifer Lopez's baby news was confirmed by one picture in 2008, said Just Jared, showing a distinctive bulge in the mint green dress Jennifer wore to her own line's show.

The bump confirmed the rumors that were going around that Jennifer and her on-again, off-again beau Marc Anthony were going through IVF to try to have a baby. With that, the rumor site confirmed that it was twins. That wasn't widely known and confirmed, though, for quite a while.

Eventually, Jennifer finally announced that she was "expecting a baby" on stage with Marc at a concert in Miami. Just a month before the birth, her father let slip that it was actually two little ones. In February of 2008, little Max and Emme arrived, and they were so very adorable. This time, Jennifer didn't want to worry about the paparazzi, so she posed for the first photos to appear in People. A couple of years ago, rumors mounted that Jennifer was pregnant with twins again, this time with her new boyfriend Alex Rodriguez. But the superstar was quick to shut them down that time.

1 Kristen Bell

These days, Kristen Bell is one of the most real celebs when it comes to talking about how hard parenting is, but the funny girl is all about sharing what she wants to on her own terms. She does not enjoy the paparazzi game of following celebrities around looking for pictures of celeb baby bumps or — even worse — their kids.

Kristen couldn't avoid bump watch, and so in 2012, she and her husband Dax Shepherd ended up announcing their pregnancy in 2012 to try to avoid the mad rush. But she couldn't stop the paps from pursuing their bump shots both then and when she was pregnant with baby number two a few years later.

Kristen and Dax, however, were successful in getting the paparazzi to stop pursuing her kids, for the most part. She called on readers to boycott magazines that ran paparazzi photos of celeb kids (although they could still run sanctioned photos), and People and other outlets changed their policies.

Unfortunately, earlier this year, there was a photographer stationed outside of her kids' school — and she confronted him and asked him to delete the images, and he actually did it. Kristen and Dax have done an amazing job keeping their little girls Lincoln and Delta out of the spotlight as much as possible, even though she couldn't stop the bump photos.
