In today's society, it's evident any man can father a kid, few are willing to take up the responsibility to become a dad. Children don’t care who you are, what you do or who you know all they need is their daddy. The role of a dad in a child’s life is very important. Dads are disciplinarians, protectors, providers, playmates, friends, and teachers.

A study done by researchers at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore found that “children who have active fathers learn better, have high self-esteem and show fewer signs of depression than children without fathers.” Children with supportive fathers feel more socially accepted than children without fathers

In the early days, parenting was left for the moms, as the dads went on to provide for the family. But, the 21stcentury dads have turned the tables and proven they can provide for the family, as well as play an active role in their children’s lives. These celeb dads have invested in their children not just financially but also emotionally. They are there for their kid’s special days and events. They treat their mothers with respect, care, and love.

These celeb dads take time off their busy schedules to go on vacation with their kids, be goofy, play soccer and be there on their special days like birthdays, soccer games etc. They spend quality time with their kids and isn’t that what matters most to a child?

20 44th President, But #1 Dad: Barack Obama

As the 44thPresident of the United States of America, we could not stop admiring him for the family values he upheld. Former President, Barack Obama is the father of 2 special young ladies, Malia and Sasha. He became a perfect example of a family man, and more so, a dad. His daughters were the center of it all he did and he was there to proudly show it off. As a father, with the busiest schedule on planet earth, he became a perfect example of what fathers should strive to be.

One of my favorite quotes about fatherhood Barack Obama stated was,

“What I’ve realized is that life doesn’t count for much unless you’re willing to do your small part to leave our children — all of our children — a better world. Any fool can have a child. That doesn’t make you a father. It’s the courage to raise a child that makes you a father.”

From the beginning, we saw him out with his daughters, as he engaged in fun activities with them. It was not always fun and games for the girls, but they were also taught to be responsible young women. Sasha and Malia were raised with class and grace.
