Mila Kunis was only 14 years old when she snagged the role of Jackie on That ‘70s Show — and we bet the actress never realized just how life-changing that role would be, as it introduced her to her now-husband, Ashton Kutcher. When she and Ashton got married in 2015, Mila was already an established actress on the silver screen. Fans know her from her roles in movies like Black Swan (2010), The Book of Eli (2010), Friends with Benefits (2011), Ted (2012), and Bad Moms (2016).

In recent years, Mila has really reduced the number of movies she’s been making. And it’s likely because she’s taken on a new role: motherhood. After knowing each other for a decade, Mila and Ashton Kutcher became romantically involved in 2012, shortly after his divorce from Demi Moore. The couple moved quickly and welcomed their first child, daughter Wyatt Isabelle, in 2014. Ashton and Mila married in 2015 during a low-key ceremony held in Oak Glen, California. Their second child, son Dimitri Portwood, was born in 2016.

Mila has been super open with fans about how life has changed since welcoming two little ones. But, there’s still a lot fans don’t know about her, especially given how she’s taken a step back from the spotlight in recent years. Keep reading to discover what many probably don't know about Mila Kunis.

20 She And Ashton Considered Separating

Mila and Ashton seemed to still be head-over-heels two kids later, but there may be reason to suggest that not all is well in paradise. Back in 2017, Star magazine came out with a report that the couple was considering separating after they’d been arguing about everything from their work to their children.

“Tensions have been building for a while, and it seems like they’re both miserable,” a source told the publication, adding that the couple was considering taking a break. “And I think the situation could be much worse than anyone knows. There’s so much tension between them that it’s unnerving.” Luckily, things seem much better between the lovebirds nowadays!

19 She Bought Her Wedding Ring On Etsy

Mila and Ashton have spoken out against spoiling their own kids, but who would’ve known they also don’t like to spoil themselves!

While speaking with Conan O’Brien, the actress once revealed that she and her husband got very humble wedding rings when they walked down the aisle. The couple actually found their bands on the online marketplace Etsy. Hers only cost $90, while Ashton’s was $100. And when you have millions of dollars in the bank, that’s a very small price to pay.

Needless to say, it’s no surprise their wedding was also low-key and budget-friendly.

18 She Dropped Out Of College

Mila was only 14 years old when she first snagged a role in That ‘70s Show. But despite getting started in the acting biz at a young age, the celebrity wasn’t sure if the Hollywood lifestyle was for her. For a time, Mila explored her options at college.

According to Buzzfeed, Mila was briefly a student at both UCLA and Loyola Marymount University, both located in Los Angeles. She eventually dropped out to pursue her acting, which seems like it was the right move given where she is nowadays. But fans can only wonder what profession Mila would’ve gone into had she decided not to continue with acting.

17 She Had The Smelliest Pregnancy Craving

Anyone who’s been pregnant knows that the mom-to-be can develop some pretty wild cravings. Peanut butter on cheese, pickles with chocolate -- you name it, some pregnant woman has bound to have eaten it. For Mila, it’s not that her pregnancy cravings were too bizarre. It’s more the icky smell that they left in her kitchen that got fans talking!

“Yes, I mean I’m very stereotypical. I eat sauerkraut all day long,” the mom-of-two once revealed, Huffington Post said. "... [Sauerkraut] smells, and every time we open up the jar, it just reeks in the whole kitchen. It’s not like ice cream where everything smells lovely and floral.”

16 She Comes From A Far-Off Land

Mila might call the States home, but she wasn’t born that way. The actress’ family actually immigrated from the Soviet Union to California when she was 7 years old in 1991.

Back in 2011, the celebrity opened up about her family’s history, saying she was “very lucky” her family found “amazing jobs” upon moving to the U.S. Mila revealed the family arrived with only $250 to their name and that her parents' college degrees weren’t recognized in the U.S.

"That was all we were allowed to take with us,” she explained. “My parents had given up good jobs and degrees, which were not transferable. We arrived in New York on a Wednesday, and by Friday morning, my brother and I were at school in L.A."

15 She Struggled To Learn English

Mila’s first language is that which her family spoke in Ukraine. And despite her ability to deliver lines flawlessly in English on the big screen nowadays, the actress reveals she struggled to learn English after her parents moved to America. She said the struggle was so difficult that she blocked a lot of her childhood out.

"I blocked out second grade completely. I have no recollection of it. I always talk to my mom and my grandma about it,” Mila has said. “It was because I cried every day. I didn't understand the culture. I didn't understand the people. I didn't understand the language. My first sentence of my essay to get into college was like, 'Imagine being blind and deaf at age seven.' And that's kind of what it felt like moving to the States."

14 Her Kids Don’t Get Gifts At Christmas

She and Ashton might be worth an estimated $255 million, but the couple is clearly trying their best not to spoil their kids despite their wealth.

A few years ago, Mila revealed that she and Ashton adopted a ‘no gift’ policy at Christmas to help their kids value memories over material items - the only difficulty was getting the grandparents to follow the rules!

"We've told our parents, 'We're begging you—if you have to give her something, pick one gift. Otherwise, we'd like to take a charitable donation to the children's hospital or a pet [or] whatever you want,'" Mila said to Entertainment Tonight.

13 She Defended Ashton and Demi’s Relationship

It seems like a lifetime ago, but there was once a time when Ashton Kutcher was married to Demi Moore. The media was fascinated with their marriage primarily because Demi was 15 years older than her husband -- and the fact that their divorce seemingly came out of nowhere.

And while many fans assume Mila might feel somewhat threatened by her husband’s famous ex-wife, the actress has actually defended the former couple’s relationship. “Yeah, I married a divorcée,” she said last August, Hollywood Life reports. “They had, like, a normal, real relationship. They had three kids they were raising. It was, like, a normal life,” she added. “Yeah, he was younger, but he loved those kids.”

12 But She Still Gets Worried

There have only been a rare few times Mila has commented on her husband’s first marriage, and each time she’s seemed unbothered by his and Demi’s history. However, while speaking to Howard Stern, Ashton once revealed that his wife does, in fact, get worried about trouble in paradise.

Specifically, the actor said his wife has dreams -- or, should we say nightmares -- about him that are not ideal. Ashton also added that he’s had similar dreams about the situation being reversed, Hollywood Life reports. We bet all of the media speculation about their relationship doesn’t help their insecurities.

11 She’s Only Watched Two Episodes of That ‘70s Show

Considering that it was the show that gave her a break in the acting world (and introduced her to her hubby), fans were surprised when Mila revealed she’s only ever watched one or two episodes of That ‘70s Show.

However, the celebrity has never boasted about having excellent taste in TV. Rather, Mila once described herself as being into “really bad television.” "When my husband is home, I can't watch any of these shows, so when he's not home, it's Botched, which is banned from the house or any bad reality shows," she told News 24. "It's Beverly Hills Housewives (sic), Botched - something that you literally don't think about."

10 She Didn’t Want A Nanny (But Hired One Anyway)

There were various times that Mila and Ashton said they weren’t interested in hiring a nanny for their children. But just last year, Mila ate her own words when she admitted that she finally caved and hired a nanny to give her some help.

“I'm a little bit less stressed over what to anticipate,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “You're still stressed out and there's still the idea of the guilt of leaving your kids, but you know that they'll be OK. Because I've already done it once and the kid doesn't resent me, so I was like, ‘OK, I think I can do this.'"

“I also need to enlist help,” she continued. “Working full-time, my husband has moved his company here, so he works full-time. We needed help.”

9 She Snuck Into Her First Broadway Musical

Nowadays, we bet Mila can get in to see any Broadway musical she wants thanks to her star power. But back when she was a teenager, the celebrity has revealed the only way she could watch a musical was if she snuck inside. And that’s how she ended up seeing Rent!

“My friend and I snuck in 16 or 17 years ago. We just walked in like we belonged. I don’t want to get in trouble, but we totally snuck in,” she told Parade. “The show was sold-out and we were standing in the back. Rent had just come out. It was one of those shows that everybody was talking about and we were saying, ‘Yeah, let’s go see Rent.’”

8 She Didn’t Think Ashton Was The One

Ashton and Mila knew each other for well over a decade before they eventually got romantically involved thanks to their starring roles in That ‘70s Show. Despite the couple seeming like a match made in heaven, the actress has revealed she wasn’t always sure he was the one for her. In fact, their relationship started off as just casual.

“I did a movie called Friends with Benefits. He did a movie that was very similar called No Strings Attached. We lived our movies out. We were like, ‘... Let’s have fun. We’re both [unattached]. We both trust each other,” she said last year, Hollywood Life reports.

7 She Supports Breastfeeding In Public

Many moms feel strongly about breastfeeding in public, with some for it and others strongly against it. Mila has made her stance known on the subject - and she’s totally onboard with mothers breastfeeding whenever and wherever they want.

“I support every woman’s choice in what she wants to do and whatever makes them happy, but for me, I did nurse my child and I literally breastfed everywhere,” she once said, Huffington Post reports. “There were many times where I didn’t bring a cover with me, and so I just did it in a restaurant, in the subway, in the park, at airports, and in planes. Why did I do it in public? Because I had to feed my child. She’s hungry. I need to feed her, whether it’s out of a bottle or out of my [self], no matter where I was.”

6 She Never Auditioned For Black Swan

Black Swan was arguably one of Mila’s best acting roles to date, which is what makes it even more surprising to learn that the celebrity never even auditioned for the role. According to Buzzfeed, Mila was referred for the role by Natalie Portman, who later became her co-star. Mila had a Skype call with the producers and got the role on the spot.

Mila had to make a huge physical transformation to get in shape for the part, something which was criticized in the media. Of the lengths she went to, the star has revealed, "I didn't starve myself. I did do it in the healthiest way possible. I don't recommend anybody ever doing it."

5 She Was Once A Bartender

Mila has admitted to having a variety of jobs before earning big in the acting industry, including working part-time at her family’s pharmacy and even bartending. That’s right. Not only does the celebrity have a talent for acting, but she’s also been known to whip up a mean cocktail. We’re sure her husband loves that skill!

“I have always loved brown spirits. They are very smooth and smoky,” she once said to Parade on her love for dark spirits. “There’s something very authentic and almost old-school about [her favorite aged spirit]. There’s a romance behind it that seems lost sometimes with other beverages.”

4 Her Hubby “Cops Out” Of Parenting Duties

Mila has only spoken positively about her husband’s parenting skills to the press. But according to insider sources, Ashton may not be as hands-on as his wife makes him out to be. A source told Star magazine that Mila often gets saddled with the brunt of parenting responsibilities.

“Mila is ... taking care of everything at home while Ashton goes to meetings and hangs out with the guys,” the insider told the magazine, adding that Ashton routinely “cops out” of parenting responsibilities, including changing diapers. Although this isn’t the picture Mila has painted of her husband, we sure hope it isn’t true.

3 She’s A Better Mom When She Works

Although Mila clearly adores her two children, the celebrity admits she didn’t feel quite herself until she got back to work post-pregnancy. She believes she’s actually a better mom to her kids when she’s working (even though it’s tough being away from her little ones).

"It took me a little while to realize that I was a better mom going back to work because when I was with her, I was present 100 percent," Mila said, E! News reports. "If you are with your kid and you are present, and you are there and you're engaged, and you care, then you're a great mom."

2 She’s A Huge Videogame Fan

We bet many fans wouldn’t expect this, but Mila considers herself a gamer girl! The actress has a hidden talent for playing video games and is particularly fond of World of Warcraft.

Back in 2014, the celebrity appeared on an episode of Dan Amrich’s podcast One of Swords to discuss her passion or gaming. Mila revealed she had to change her in-game name, as it was originally ‘Captainpicard’ though ‘captain’ wasn’t allowed in the game, EN Gadget reports.

Mila admitted to being a self-proclaimed nerd and trying to get her friends to get involved. We wonder if this is one of the things she and Ashton bonded over when they first got together!

1 She Doesn’t Want More Kids

Mila and Ashton welcomed their son and daughter practically back-to-back, which made many fans wonder if they were planning on having a large family. However, the actress has since revealed that she’s perfectly happy with two kids- that’s enough for her to handle.

“We’re good on two right now,” she said in 2017, Hollywood Life revealed. “We’re solid. It’s perfect, it’s like, great, you know? I have two really healthy, really wonderful kids. Why test my luck?” She continued, “[With two kids] you’re running defense a little bit, like, one’s got one and the other’s got one and it’s ok. I think it’s when it becomes three is when you’re like, you’re just playing offense. I don’t know what you do at that point.”
