Celeb mom Jessica Simpson surprised and delighted the world when she took to Instagram on September 18, 2018 to announce she is expecting her third child. The actress, singer and fashion mogul learned she was pregnant with her second bundle of joy, Ace, just seven short months after welcoming her first baby, Maxwell to the world.

Since giving birth to Ace, Simpson has become an inspiration to women everywhere. She has proven that it's possible to be a mom while simultaneously having a successful career. She simply adores her babies, and we can't for her impending arrival to make her debut.

Simpson and her husband Eric Johnson are involved, loving parents and will undoubtedly continue to slay the parenting game when they add a third baby to their brood, just don't expect Jess to sing the baby to sleep in the traditional sense. She recently revealed on Entertainment Tonight that she isn't a fan of weird lullaby lyrics. The blonde bombshell joked, "When the bow breaks, the cradle will fall, and down will come baby, cradle and all? That's scary! You're like, dropping a baby! So, I just say, sing the national anthem."

We've gotta hand it to Jess being unapologetically herself. We can't wait to watch her experience the joy of bringing a new baby to the world for the third time, and can't get enough of this mama-to-be! Read on for 20 facts about newly pregnant Jessica Simpson.

20 She's Having A Girl!

Jess has revealed that her baby-to-be is a little lady. She's already proven she's a pro at parenting daughters by setting a good example for her firstborn. It's important to her that her daughter learns to be confident and comfortable in her own skin.

In October of 2013, the star wrote on a blog post for Parents website, "Raising Maxwell made me realize that I don't want her to see me beat myself up for things like food choices or numbers on scale. I don't want her to learn anything like that from me."

She continued, "Those things don't determine who we are and instead make us feel terrible about ourselves. I want to teach her to value herself, listen to herself and tune out the world.”

19 She Used Pink Balloons To Announce Her Impending Arrival

Simpson became known for her incredible pregnancy announcements after the spooktacular way she let the world know she was going to be a mom the first time around. She famously shared a pic on Twitter of herself dressed up as a mummy with full make-up and hair and captioned the photo, "I'm going to be a mummy!"

This time, she involved her son and daughter in the announcement. She posted a pic on Instagram of her two adorable tots holding large, black and white balloons and captioned the shot, "SURPRISE..." She then posted a second picture that featured the kids gazing up at pink balloons and was captioned, "This baby girl will make us a family of five. We couldn’t be happier to announce this precious blessing of life.”

18 She Does Not Like Flying While Pregnant

Soon after revealing the news that she was expecting, Simpson went on a trip to the Big Apple. On the way home from her glamorous vacay, she posted a pic to Instagram in which her face was wearing a very meh expression. The caption of the photo read simply, "Flights are VERY long pregnant."

Jess may have been uncomfortable way up in the air, but she looked flawless in the shot, rocking stunner shades, a shimmery top and gold hoops. Luckily for the actress, now that she's getting further and further along, she isn't likely to be jet-setting around the globe as much as she usually does until after her bundle of joy arrives.

17 She's Craving Nutella

Jess recently shared a shot on Instagram of herself holding up what appears to be a crepe smothered in Nutella and powdered sugar. The caption of the shot read, "Nutella smile." It's safe to say we can put Nutella down as one of the things she's craving with her third pregnancy.

When Jess was pregnant with Maxwell, she craved a lot of strange things, including buttered pop tarts. Speaking about her "crazy" cravings, she revealed to People in 2011, "I crave cantaloupe like a crazy person. But I put salt all over it, so I don't know if it's that healthy. I crave anything salty and sweet. That mixture is to me is so good I can eat a whole cantaloupe in one morning."

16 She's Still Rocking Heels

Jessica's fashion line isn't for wallflowers. The shoes she sells are definitely in the va-va-voom category, and most of them feature some sort of wedge or incredible heel. Simpson may be expecting, but she isn't letting her baby bump get in the way of her love of fierce fashion.

Since announcing she's got a bun in her oven, the star has been photographed sporting heels while out and about on multiple occasions. The most impressive part? Her strut is steady and sure-footed. While rocking sky-high footwear while pregnant isn't for everyone, and not necessarily recommended by medical professionals, we can't help but applaud Jess's impressive maternity footwear choices.

15 Before Announcing Her Pregnancy, She Revealed She Was Done Having Children

Why were many of Jess’s loyal fans so shocked to learn that she had a baby on board? It may be because, in May of 2017, she shared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she was definitely done having babies.

When Ellen inquired after circulating rumors that Jess and Eric had a third baby on the way, Simpson stated, "We got an IUD, nothing's gonna get in that uterus. I'm not touching that." She continued, "I have two beautiful children, and I'm not having a third. They're too cute... you can't top that." All we can say is, things change.

14 Pregnancy Makes Her Sleepy

It's a well-known fact that pregnancy often wears expecting mothers right out. Add caring for two little ones and running an extremely successful business into the mix, and it's no surprise to learn that Jess is craving some shut-eye lately.

Soon after announcing her pregnancy, Simpson posted a black and white photo of herself snuggled up underneath a plush, white comforter on Instagram. In the pic, her eyes are closed and her face is serene. The caption of the shot read simply, "This momma wants sleeeeeeep." We don't blame her for feeling plum tuckered out, and sincerely hope that she's been able to get the rest she needs.

13 Her Maternity Style Is On Point

Jess doesn't shy away from stylish clothes when she's expecting. In fact, her maternity fashion may be even more stylish than her outfit choices when she doesn't have a bun in her oven. Speaking about her clothing choices, she has admitted, "I love to be comfortable, but I also love to play up the glamour."

How does Simpson find her amazing outfits? It takes time and attention. The star has shared, "I am not a person who tries on in stores. It drives me crazy. So I buy and take back if I don't like something. I really don't enjoy being in the dressing room. [I'd] rather just try it on in my house."

12 She And Her Bump Recently Visited New York

As previously mentioned, soon after announcing the wonderful news that she had a baby on the way, Jess took a trip to New York City. She shared various shots of herself enjoying the city on Instagram, and looked flawless in each and every one.

The hilarious mama once joked, "People always say that pregnant women have a glow. I say it's because you're sweating!"

We are sure a lot of thought went into her trip attire, especially the outfits she chose to share on social media. The designer has admitted, "I always wonder if what I'm wearing will be something that people would compliment, or want to wear. I don't ever just get ready just for myself, ever."

11 She's 38 Years Old

Simpson turned 38 this past July, and it seems with age she's come to many healthy realizations. Among them is one that many women should take to heart. She recently admitted, "It's been hard, but I've finally come to the realization that it's okay to not be perfect."

Simpson has also admitted to constantly striving to improve herself. According to the star, "I am the first person to go to Barnes & Noble and buy the new self-help book. I like to fill out the surveys, then I get my friends' opinions on how I answered to see if I was being honest with myself or not."

10 Practice Makes Perfect

In April of 2018, when asked if she would ever have another baby, Simpson confessed to Entertainment Tonight that she and her man had been dealing with a bit of "baby fever." She continued, "We always practice. But it would definitely have to be a miracle.”

The star also revealed that she was "very attracted" to her hubby and went on to dish about some recent rare alone time the pair had shared. She explained, "Today, we got to go on this trip without the kids, [and usually] we don't go places without the kids." It isn't difficult to determine that all of the couple's "practice" paid off and resulted in an unexpected baby-to-be.

9 She's Been With Her Baby Daddy Since 2010

Simpson has gone through her share of heartbreak. After her very public divorce from her first husband Nick Lachey and heartbreaking splits from boyfriends John Mayer and Tony Romo, she met her prince charming Johnson through mutual friends. The two have been virtually inseparable ever since.

Simpson adored him from the beginning despite his past as an NFL tight end. She has admitted, "I think it's ironic that I fell in love with a man I thought I would never be interested in because he's an athlete. I was always, 'An athlete? Heck no.'"

Obviously paying homage to her awesome baby daddy, the actress has also dished, "As a woman who has some sort of power, you have to have a man that can take that. It's hard to find those men...I don't even have a physical type. I have an emotional type!"

8 When It Comes To Stocking Up On Baby Products, She's Got Connections

It’s a little-known and totally fascinating fact that Eric and Jess are good friends with actress and Honest Company founder Jessica Alba and her hubby Cash Warren. What does this mean? When Simpson give birth, she'll most likely have access to all the Honest Company products her heart desires.

Cash and Eric have a lot in common. They both graduated from Yale in 2001, and both married beautiful stars-turned-businesswomen named Jessica. The eerily similar couples hung together at the Yale 10-year class reunion in 2011, and images of the event published in People made it look like they had a great time together. Yep, Simpson is definitely getting free diapers!

7 She's A Successful Fashion Mogul

Not only is Jess an accomplished actress, singer and mother-of-two, she's also built an extremely successful fashion empire. Speaking about why she feels she's been successful, the star has mused, "Well, I think any designer [should] understand what people need to be wearing right now. [It] is the biggest and best step that you can take. Instead of putting your ego first, you put the buyer first. And I think that that's a really important thing to just know what the consumer is wanting to wear."

Jess has also admitted, "I never thought I'd be some fashion mogul!" She loves her job, and has also shared, "I love that I can dream about paisley, and then two months later, someone's wearing it. I'm basically styling America."

6 She Speaks Out About How Tabloids Criticize Pregnant Women's Figures

When Simpson was pregnant with Maxwell, tabloids were constantly commenting on and criticizing the Dukes of Hazzard actress' changing figure. Since, she has spoken out how damaging negative comments can be.

She has stated, "It's not fair that women look in the mirror and feel disgust because of what society has made them believe."

The star has learned to embrace her curves, and has also shared, "At school my [girls] were bigger than all my friends' and I was afraid to show them. Now, I feel they make my outfits look better. They're like an accessory!" She has also stated, "It really is about the heart of a woman that makes her beautiful."

5 She's Staying Active

Jessica recently took to Instagram to chronicle her fit pregnancy. She posted a cute selfie in which she wore stylish sunglasses, an adorable head scarf and a cozy wrap. The shot was captioned, "Bundled up getting my steps in #10000."

After gaining some pounds during her first two consecutive pregnancies, Simpson famously slimmed down using WW. She has since confessed, "I don't want to look like Daisy Duke every day. I don't want to wear a bathing suit every day."

What motivates her more than anything else to stay active? Her kids. She has shared, "I want to be as healthy as I can because I'm a mom now."

4 She's And Eric Johnson Have Been Married For Four Years

Jess and Eric made things official on July 5, 2017 at a picturesque ranch in Montecito, California. At the time of their nuptials, Maxwell was 2 and Ace was just 1. Simpson later revealed that her babies stole the show. Speaking about the big day, she told People, "Before I walked out, I kept hearing all the applause, so my kids got a standing ovation!"

Revealing some of his memories of the big day, Johnson told the mag, "I saw my gorgeous wife coming towards me and she was crying. I think my heart was exploding a little bit." On marriage, Simpson has wisely stated, "Marriage doesn't have to be perfect, but you can be perfect for each other."

3 She Loves Spending Lots Of Quality Time With Her Kids

Jessica is constantly posting adorable pictures to social media of herself and her kids spending quality time together. She has joked, "I never knew how protective I was until I had my own child. I'm already thinking about intruders coming into the house and what our escape route would be."

Speaking about how she and her man parent very differently, and how she sometimes feels like one is the good cop and one is the bad cop, Jess revealed to Us Weekly in May of 2018, “Eric is more the disciplinarian. If my daughter asks for a dog, she gets one, and then Eric finds a way to make the dog not end up in the house.”

2 She's Most Likely Due In March Or April

Jessica has yet to reveal her due date. However, due to the fact that most choose to wait to announce their pregnancies until after they are safely out of the first trimester, and Jess announced her pregnancy in September, she's most likely due sometime in March or April.

Whenever she welcomes her baby girl to the world, she's going to rock her new role as a mother of three. The inspiring star has wisely stated, "I'm interested in learning more about myself and what I value in myself and letting that be the beautiful part of me, rather than putting on the makeup or wearing the right designer."

1 She Can't Wait To Be A Mom Again

Simpson has revealed on multiple occasions just how much she adores being a mom. Soon after giving birth to Maxwell in May of 2012, Simpson tweeted, “I am so in love with baby Maxwell. I want to cry every time I look at her. Motherhood is by far the best thing I’ve ever experienced.”

Speaking about how much she loves motherhood, the star told Us Weekly in May of 2018, “Being a mother is the best opportunity and challenge I’ve ever been blessed with in life.”

The star has also stated, "Life is definitely always about expanding. That's how we grow." We wish Jess and her family the best as they prepare to expand their beautiful brood!
