Some people are fortunate enough to start their dream jobs at an early age and this is most common in Hollywood where kids get to appear on TV shows and movies at very young ages. Most continue on this path and eventually advance to professional acting.

Actors can venture into either TV, film, or theatre. Reality TV is a genre of programming that focuses on real-life events although most of these shows these days follow a script in order to make them exciting and retain viewership. As we were growing up most of us loved watching TV programs and reality TV shows were part of these. Reality shows started featuring on TV sometime in the late 1990s. Once reality shows became popular, it was only automatic that the stars of the show would develop an audience and a following.

Eventually, as we grew so did out favorite stars. No matter what paths they took in life, a good number of them had the same goals which included meeting the ideal life partner, settling down, and getting children. In this era of social media, it is very easy to keep up with our favorite stars.

Here is a look at a few reality TV stars we grew up watching and how they are coping with parenthood.

20 Kim Kardashian

This reality TV star, business mogul, and model Kim Kardashian first appeared on our screens when the family agreed to air its own reality show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians back in 2007. Before the show, Kim had already gained media attention as a friend and stylist to Paris Hilton.

Sixteen seasons and 232 episodes later, Kim is now a wife to rapper Kanye West and a mother of four. Kim's first two babies, North and Saint, were carried by her but she was diagnosed with placenta accreta with both of them, and could therefore not carry any other pregnancy. Since the couple still wanted more kids, they opted for surrogacy. According to people.com, Kim says motherhood has really taught her how to multitask.

19 Kylie Jenner

Kylie Jenner was only 10 years old when she made an appearance in the reality series Keeping Up With The Kardashians alongside her family. Together with her sister Kendall, the two were able to start and manage their own clothing line by the name Kendall & Kylie. In 2015, Kylie launched her own cosmetic line called Kylie Cosmetics, which has vastly contributed to her being the youngest self-made billionaire.

In 2017, she got her own spin-off reality series Life Of Kylie. Now the makeup mogul is dating rapper Travis Scott and the duo have a daughter, Stormi Webster. Kylie is a cool mom since she always posts pictures of herself traveling the world with baby Stormi.

18 Lauren Conrad

The 2000s truly had some good reality TV shows. Lauren first came to prominence when she appeared on the reality TV series Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. She later moved to Los Angeles and joined cast mates of the hit reality series The Hills.

Five seasons later, The Hills alum left the show to go start her fashion lines LC Lauren Conrad and Paper Crown. She now has a successful job in fashion design and is an author.

Lauren is married to former musician William Tell and the two have a son, Liam James. According to eoline.com, they are also expecting their second child. Lauren says motherhood has been the best and the hardest thing she has experienced.

17 Jill Duggar Dillard

Jill Duggar Dillard first graced TV screens in the show 19 Kids And Counting, a reality TV series that aired for seven years and then later on in the show Counting On. She pretty much had a simple life together with her 18 siblings. They were all homeschooled and not allowed to date unsupervised.

Eventually, Jill got married to Derick Dillard in 2014 and barely a month into their marriage Jill announced that she was pregnant with their first child. According to popculture.com, early this year people criticized the couple for sharing a photo of their 18-month-old son Samuel helping her mom with household chores. A few years ago, fans of the show also criticized her for staying in a Zika-infested area while pregnant. Despite this, Jill seems like a great mom to her kids and probably faces criticism just because she is a public figure.

16 Tamar Braxton

Singer, songwriter and reality star Tamar Braxton is the youngest of her siblings. She began singing when she was just 13 years old. In 2011, Tamar and her sisters starred in their own reality series Braxton Family Values that is still on air to date. She also had her spin-off series Tamar & Vince.

Tamar married her (then) husband, record executive Vincent Herbert in 2008 and in 2013 the duo got their first child, Logan Vincent Herbert. However, according to bckonline.com, their relationship did not last long because they separated and are now co-parenting and trying to raise their son in the most comfortable and loving way.

15 Tia And Tamera Mowry

Identical twins Tia and Tamera Mowry first gained fame as teenagers when they starred in the sitcom Sister, Sister according to starsandcelebs.com. They also ventured into movies together and appeared in Twitches and its sequel, Twitches Too. Eventually, the duo got their own reality series Tia & Tamara, which followed their day-to-day lives and jobs.

Today both twins are happily married, Tia is married to Cory Hardrict, Tamera is married to Adam Housley, and each has two kids. Tia still pursues acting while Tamera is a host in the daytime talk show The Real. The twins also seem to be enjoying the transition from childhood stars to mothers.

14 Angela Simmons

Angela Simmons appeared on the family reality show Run’s House. The show, which debuted in October 2005, followed the day-to-day life of Angela and her family. Thereafter Angela went on to star in another reality series, Growing Up Hip Hop that she helps produce. The reality TV star and her sister are also designers for the shoe brand Pastry.

In September 2016, Angela and her (then) fiancé, Sutton Joseph Tennyson welcomed a baby boy into the world. Unfortunately, two years later, Sutton lost his life in his driveway during a dispute, as stated by hollywoodlife.com. Angela is now doing her best to raise the child alone.

13 Kelly Clarkson

Singer, songwriter, and reality star Kelly Clarkson rose to fame in 2002 after winning that year’s season of Idol. She immediately earned a record label with RCA Records and soon after, she released her first song A Moment Like This, which topped the charts.

Today Clarkson has sold over 25 million albums and 45 million songs worldwide. She is married to talent manager Brandon Blackstock who is also her manager. They have a daughter River Rose and son Remington Alexander. She is also a stepmom to Seth and Savannah, Brandon’s kids from his first marriage. According to HuffPost, Kelly is enjoying being a mom and hopes their kids will one day see them as successful, loving, and respectful parents.

12 Kenya Moore

Television personality, entrepreneur, author, actress, and model, Kenya Moore gained popularity when she won Miss US, which saw her become one of the top six contestants in the same year’s Miss Universe pageant. Thereafter, Moore joined the reality series The Real Housewives Of Atlanta and has been with them from season five through to ten.

In 2015, she also participated in another reality show The Celebrity Apprentice 7. As stated by People, the reality star is married to businessperson and restaurant owner Marc Daly. The two have a daughter called Brooklyn. Moore had always dreamed of starting her own family and after years of waiting, she says motherhood has brought a completely new level of happiness for her.

11 Kandi Burruss

Georgia native, Kandi Burruss rose to fame as a member of the music group Xscape back in 1992. She started her singing and songwriting job during this period, which saw her win a Grammy for writing the hit song No Scrubs by TLC. When Xscape parted ways, Kandi joined the reality series The Real Housewives of Atlanta in the second season.

Kandi still stars on the show to date and her group has also reunited. She has a daughter, Riley Burruss from her ex-boyfriend, Russel Black Spenser. Kandi is currently married to Todd Tucker, a former line producer of the show. She gave birth to the couple’s first child, Ace Wells Tucker in 2016.

Kandi is a great mom but she often struggles with balancing her singing and motherhood. After a difficult pregnancy with Ace, Kandi is now exploring surrogacy.

10 Jack Osbourne

As stated by thewrap.com, England native Jack Osborne and family were one of the first people to open their homes to cameras. They had a reality show by the name The Osbournes. After the show, Jack moved to pursue a job in fitness. He is now a travel reporter presenting in shows like BBC. Jack recently starred in yet another reality series Ozzy & Jack’s World Detour with his father.

Jack and ex-wife Lisa Stelly have three beautiful daughters Pearl, Andy, and Minnie. Although the couple has parted ways, they are very much able to co-parent their daughters. Jack says being a father is great and it is all he can ask for at this stage in his life.

9 Kendra Wilkinson

Television personality, Kendra Wilkinson first graced TV screens when she was 20 years old in the reality series The Girl Next Door. This opened doors for her as she got her own spin-off shows (Kendra and then later on Kendra On Top). Kendra has also participated in Dancing With The Stars.

In 2008, Kendra became engaged to wide receiver Hank Baskett and a year later, the two got married. She gave birth to their first son in 2009 and in May 2014, she had a baby girl. According to dailymail.com. Kendra is no longer married to Hank but the two have shown their determination to be amicable by co-parenting their children.

8 Jessica Simpson

Jessica Simpson is a singer, fashion designer, and actress. She released her first album at the age of 16. Her singing took off following the release of several other albums. In 2002, she got married to singer Nick Lachey and the couple starred in the own reality series Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica.

In 2005, the two decided to go their separate ways and so did their show. Jessica ventured on to another reality show, Fashion Star alongside Nicole Richie. She found love again and is now married to Eric Johnson and the couple has three kids: Maxwell, Ace, and Birdie. Jessica loves motherhood but she revealed to mother.ly.com that it is sometimes difficult because all three kids need equal attention.

7 Rob Kardashian

Rob Kardashian is the only man in the Kardashian-Jenner clan. He stepped into the limelight when he appeared in the family’s reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Alongside this show, he also appeared in Dancing With The Stars where he came in second.

Thereafter, Rob took a more laid-back role in the family show. He surprised fans in 2016 when he announced that he was engaged to model Blac Chyna. Months later, Chyna became pregnant and the two got their own reality show Rob & Chyna that lasted throughout their one-year relationship.

Rob is taking fatherhood quite well; he is ready to incorporate his family's roots in his daughter as he brings her up.

6 Nicole Polizzi LaValle 

Nicole Polizzi LaValle, who most people know by her nickname Snooki is famous for being a cast member in the reality show Jersey Shore. According to thetalko.com, the show followed her life together with other castmates, who all spent their summers together in one vacation house.

In 2012, the reality star announced her engagement to Jionni LaValle. She gave birth to their first child Lorenzo that same year and then to her second child Giovanna two years later. The couple is currently expecting their third baby. Snooki who was a wild party girl left her old life behind when she became a mom. Her focus these days are family, business and fitness.

5 Jenni Farley

Another reality star is Jenner Farley popularly known as JWoww. Jenner also starred in Jersey Show as a very good and close friend to Snooki. Their friendship was very interesting to watch such that they were even given their own spin-off series Snooki & JWoww that aired for four seasons.

Jenner got married to Roger Matthews in 2015 and the duo has two children Meilani and Greyson. However, in 2018, she filed for divorce and the two have since then separated. The ex-couple are still working on being better parents but no matter what, their kids come first especially since their son is autistic, as revealed by People.

4 Kristin Cavallari

Television personality, fashion designer and actress Kristin Cavallari first came to prominence as a cast in the reality series Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. The show revolved around the lives of Kristin and her other castmates while in high school. In 2018, reality TV star got her own reality show, Very Cavallari.

In 2010, Kristin got engaged to athlete Jay Culter, however, they called off their engagement but later reconciled and got married. They now have three adorable children, Camden, Jaxon, and Saylor. While in an interview with lifeandstyle.com, Kristin admitted that motherhood has changed her she has become patient, selfless ,and has experienced unconditional love.

3 Heidi Montag

Colorado-born singer, fashion designer, and author Heidi Montag first graced our screens when she made her appearance in the reality television series The Hills, which focused on her life as a fashion designer. When Heidi who was good friends with co-star Lauren Conrad started dating Spenser Pratt, the relationship brought a lot of feud between the two girls.

Heidi and Spenser eventually got married in 2009. Afterward, the two appeared on the reality show I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here and in 2011, Heidi appeared in another reality series Famous Food. The duo has a son together, Gunner Stone. According to moms, Heidi is enjoying motherhood and prefers raising her son without a nanny.

2 Bethenny Frankel

Bethenny Frankel received wide recognition when she appeared on the reality series, The Real Housewives of New York City. She appeared in eight of its eleven seasons. Frankel was also a contestant in the reality show The Apprentice: Martha Stewart. She has starred in her own series Bethenny Ever After and Bethenny & Fredrik and has had her own talk show Bethenny. Other than TV, Frankel has a lifestyle brand known as Skinnygirl.

Frankel married Jason Hoppy, a pharmaceutical executive in 2010, and the two have a daughter named Bryn, according to people. Even though Frankel and Hoppy broke things off, they still manage to co-parent their little girl. Frankel says she happily parents without a nanny and has managed to keep her daughter away from her spotlight.

1 Yaya DaCosta

Actress and model Camara DaCosta Johnson, best known as Yaya DaCosta first appeared on TV screens in 2004 in the third cycle of the reality show America's Next Top Model where she managed to be a runner up. Thereafter, Yaya ventured into acting and has appeared in television shows like Ugly Betty, All My Children, and Chicago Med as revealed on newyorkfamily.com

In 2012, Yaya got married to producer and director Joshua Bee Alafia and the following year she gave birth to their son, Sankara. Like all parents, Yaya is also struggling to find a balance between work and motherhood. When she goes home to her son, she tries her best to leave her work at work
