Season 8 of Teen Mom OG aired on October 1, 2018 and many fans of the OG series couldn't wait to dive back into the drama. As fans know, Farrah Abraham was removed from the show as shown in season 7. Rumours speculated for months about who would replace her and everyone was thrown for a loop when MTV announced that Cheyenne Floyd would be taking Abraham’s place on the show. Floyd was known for her appearance in MTV’s Are You The One? and The Challenge. Floyd was a choice from left field, especially considering she was never even a Teen Mom. As if this wasn’t surprising enough to fans, shortly after the announcement of Floyd joining the series, MTV dropped another bombshell that Bristol would also be joining the Teen Mom OG cast, making the series cast with five girls instead of four.

“When asked why she decided to join the MTV series, Bristol shared, 'I've been a huge fan of the show forever and I've watched these girls' stories, and I just feel like, you know, God gave me a platform and I need to use it. And if there's anything I can relate in my life to someone else out there, then that's what I wanna do',” writes EOnline.com.

Below are 20 facts to know about Teen Mom OG’s newest and most surprising cast member, Bristol. From her age, to where she resides and what viewers might see of Bristol on season 8 of Teen Mom OG.

20 She Was 17 When She Had Her First Child

Bristol gave birth to her first child, a boy who she named Tripp, in 2008. She was 17 years old at the time, and engaged to Tripp’s father, Levi Johnston. The engagement was eventually called off but she reunited with Johnston several times before finally calling it quits in 2010. Levi is now married with two daughters from his current marriage. “Johnston married Sunny Oglesby (born 1992) on October 28, 2012.A month prior to the wedding, the couple's first daughter, Breeze Beretta Johnston, was born. Their second daughter, Indy Rae Johnston, was born in January 2015,” states Wikipedia.com.

19 She Now Has Three Kids With Two Different Dads

Bristol now has three children total. She has two daughters, Sailor and Atlee. Sailor is 2 years old and Atlee is 1. Sailor and Atlee are both fathered by Dakota Meyer, who Bristol had an on and off again relationship with over the years. The three kids are totally adorable and appear to get along great.

"She loves her little sister and just wants to help us with everything," wrote Bristol. "She is still a little rough, but it is all out of love!”Meanwhile, "Tripp has always been the best big brother, he has a heart of gold ... He loves our new addition just like I knew he would!" And in the end, Bristol just sounds grateful, despite any ups and downs. "I am so thankful for the babies God chose me to mother," she wrote. "It has been the best title I could've ever been given,” writes Today.com.

18 She is 27 Years Old

Bristol is 27 years old, for now anyway. Her birthday is on October 18th so she will turn 28 very shortly. Bristol joins OG cast members Maci, Catelynn and Amber. Maci is 27, Catelynn is 26 and Amber is 28. Bristol will be one of the oldest members of the Teen Mom franchise cast members. Teen Mom 2 stars Kailyn, Leah and Jenelle are all 26 years old. Chelsea from Teen Mom 2 just celebrated her birthday (with the birth of another daughter) and is now 27. The newest Teen Mom 2 cast member, Briana is only 24 years old.

17 She Was Once Married

Bristol was once married to her daughters' father, Dakota Meyer. Similar to her relationship with Johnston, she and Meyer have notoriously been on and off again. The pair was engaged early in 2015 but then called off the engagement. A few months later, Bristol announced her pregnancy. Sailor was born in December of 2015. In March of 2016, she and Meyer reached a custody agreement for their daughter Sailor, and in May of 2016 the couple was married. They welcomed their second daughter Atlee in May of 2017. All does not end well for Meyer and Bristol though, the pair finalized their divorce on August 1st of this year.

16 And Isn’t Interested In Dating Anytime Soon

On an appearance on Good Morning America mid-September, Bristol stated that she wasn’t interested in dating anytime soon. “"Hell to the naw. No," the 27-year-old said in a clip from the upcoming season that aired during her Good Morning America segment. "My parents have been married [for] 30 years. Like, of course, that would be so incredible to have that. But my thoughts on it have changed so much that it’s like — I don’t think I would ever get remarried. Ever,” shares InTouchWeekly.com.

She backtracked a bit and said she didn’t really know if she would ever get remarried. But her dating life certainly won’t be the focus of her OG segments. Instead, she hopes to show viewers that life doesn’t end after divorce.

15 She Is Not The Only New Teen Mom OG Cast Member Joining This Season

As mentioned earlier, Bristol isn’t the only new OG to join the cast this season. Before it was announced that Bristol was joining the cast, MTV dropped the news that Cheyenne Floyd would be taking Farrah Abraham’s place on the show. As I previously wrote here on BabyGaga.com, TheAshleysRealityRoundup.com reports the following about Farrah’s chosen replacement, Cheyenne Floyd, “MTV has dipped into the cast pools of some of its other hit shows–'Are You The One?' and 'The Challenge'— and have cast Cheyenne Floyd as the fourth girl on ‘Teen Mom OG.’ Cheyenne and ‘Challenge’ star Cory Wharton share one-year-old daughter Ryder.”

And additionally, “As The Ashley previously reported, MTV was seriously considering either Mackenzie McKee or Ryan Edwards‘ wife Mackenzie to take the fourth spot, but both options “fizzled out,” according to one of The Ashley’s sources.“[The network] realized that the fans weren’t going to be excited about either option,” the source said. “So they continued to look.”

14 The Actual OG’s Have Had Little To Say On The New Additions

When news broke of both Cheyenne and Bristol joining the cast, the actual OG’s stayed pretty quiet. Farrah had a lot to say about Bristol joining the cast, and you can google that tea if it interests you. However, Catelynn, Amber and Maci have stayed relatively quiet.

Catelyn and her husband Tyler spoke out on Kail Lowry’s podcast Coffee Convos, and simply stated they were blindsided by the addition of Bristol and wished that they had at least been told of the addition. In a recent trip to New York, Catelynn and Amber went live on Instagram and when a fan asked how they felt about the new additions Amber stated that they would be nice to the new additions but that they know who the real OG’s are. Later that weekend every single one of the new OG girls; Maci, Catelynn, Amber, Cheyenne and Bristol, all posted a photo of the five of them together on their individual Instagram accounts, so it looks like everyone is playing nice, for now anyway.

13 Fans Can Expect To See A Lot Of Drama Unfold In Her Segments

Given Bristol’s background and her multiple tumultuous relationships with her two baby daddy’s, viewers can expect to see a lot of drama unfold from Bristol’s segments. When Bristol confirmed the news of her addition to the show on Instagram she stated, “I am excited to join MTV’s ‘Teen Mom OG.’ I look forward to sharing my experiences and hope that I can help others on their journey.” Viewers will have to tune into the upcoming season eight of Teen Mom OG to see just exactly what kind of drama that journey will entail. Tune in on October 1st to get the first glimpse of what Teen Mom OG is like with Bristol as an addition to the cast.

12 She’s A Libra

Bristol’s sign is libra. “People born under the sign of Libra are peaceful, fair, and they hate being alone. Partnership is very important for them, as their mirror and someone giving them the ability to be the mirror themselves. These individuals are fascinated by balance and symmetry, they are in a constant chase for justice and equality, realizing through life that the only thing that should be truly important to themselves in their own inner core of personality. This is someone ready to do nearly anything to avoid conflict, keeping the peace whenever possible,” writes one website. If her sign holds true to Bristol’s personality type, it should be interesting to see these characteristics play out on screen.

11 She's From Alaska

She was born in Wasilla, Alaska. The town has a population of 9.748, according to Wikipedia.com. “Wasilla is a city in Matanuska-Susitna Borough, United States and the sixth-largest city in Alaska. It is located on the northern point of Cook Inlet in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley of the southcentral part of the state,” states Wikipedia.com. Her hometown is where she met her first boyfriend and first baby daddy, Levi Johnston, but we will learn more about him below. Bristol is the only Teen Mom cast member ever to be from Alaska. Though she no longer lives there, she still makes frequent trips as spotted on her Instagram @bsmp2.

10 She Now Lives In Texas

Bristol is no longer residing in her home state of Alaska. Instead, she now lives in Texas. After Bristol married her now ex-husband Dakota Meyer, the couple moved to Austin, Texas together. It’s unclear if Bristol is still living in Austin after the divorce, but it’s safe to say she is still in Texas. She is the only Teen Mom franchise cast member to reside in Texas. If you’re curious about Bristol’s day to day life and can’t wait for the show to air, hop over to her Instagram account @bsmp2 where she shares tidbits of her daily life.

Bristol is no stranger to public attention and being in the spotlight. She appeared in one episode of ‘The Secret Life Of The American Teenager’ in 2010. She also had her own docu-series for a very short stint. “...docu-series Life's A Tripp, produced by Associated Television International, premiered on June 19, 2012, in the United States, on Lifetime TV. Lifetime ordered 14 episodes for original broadcast. The series followed [Bristol] as she moved to Los Angeles, then back to Alaska, with two episodes set in Arizona (where her sister Willow was attending beauty school) and one episode in Washington, D.C,” shares Wikipedia.com. But that’s not all...

8 Including Dancing With The Stars

She also appeared on two seasons of the tv show, ‘Dancing With The Stars.’ She first appeared on season eleven in 2010. “She was partnered with professional Mark Ballas, a two-time champion on the show who won with Olympic figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi in season 6, and with Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson in season 8.The show was televised from September through November 2010,” writes Wikipedia.com. She and Ballas wound up taking third place on the show. She and Ballas were again partnered up for an all-star season in 2012. The duo was eliminated in week four of the season.

7 She Has Become A Teen Mom Role Model

No stranger to teenage pregnancy, she’s been a big role model in the teen pregnancy prevention movement. “At age 18 in May 2009, ... appeared on the Today show and Good Morning America in recognition of the National Day to Prevent Teen Pregnancy. She called for all teens to abstain from sex. Such observance was started by The National Campaign To Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy…(Bristol)... was not employed by the Campaign, nor was she a spokesperson for the organization…(She) said that her abstinence quote of February had been 'taken out of context'.

Also, in May 2009, (She) was named a Teen Pregnancy Prevention Ambassador for the Candie's Foundation,a teen pregnancy prevention organization that is a division of the Candie's clothing brand. Her duties as a paid spokeswoman involved attending town hall meetings, talking about abstinence, public service announcements, and giving interviews on morning talk shows,” shares Wikipedia.com.

6 She Has Published A Memoir

Bristol’s memoir, “Not Afraid Of Life, My Journey So Far’ came out in June of 2011. The book was co-authored by Nancy French. Many critics say the memoir is more of a rant than anything but if you’re curious, you can still snag the book on Amazon for ten bucks. Following is an excerpt from her book, as shared by TheDailyBeast.com.

In seventh grade, Bristol’s locker is conveniently right next to Levi Johnston’s, and she soon succumbed to his good looks and cockiness. When her English teacher assigned her a letter to be inserted into a time capsule, Bristol wrote about her desire to own 50 pairs of jeans, to have her own pig, to go to a Lakers game, meeting President Bush, and, last but not least, wrote, “I have a crush on Levi Johnston.” (Pg. 30)

5 And Has Even Appeared In A Music Video

Yes, you read that right. Bristol has made an appearance in a music video. “In October 2010, while competing on Dancing With the Stars season 11, [Bristol] appeared in a music video for an Alaskan symphony rock band, Static Cycle. The video was shot at the Ice Museum in Chena Hot Springs, Alaska, states Wikipedia.com. The song is called ‘Inside This World Of Mine’ by Static Cycle, and yes, of course you can find it on YouTube.com. The video is pretty odd, but definitely worth checking out just to say that you have seen Bristol in a music video. Let’s hope her OG segments are not as strange.

4 She Has Tried Her Hand At Blogging

Blogging? Yep, Bristol has done that too. She started the Patheos blog in 2012 and has kept up with it up until as recent as June of this year. Wondering what a Patheos blog is? So was I! “Patheos.com is the premier online destination to engage in the global dialogue about religion and spirituality, and to explore and experience the world's beliefs. Patheos is the website of choice for the millions of people looking for credible and balanced information about religion. Patheos brings together faith communities, academics, and the broader public into a single environment, and is the place where many people turn on a regular basis for insight, inspiration, and stimulating discussion,” states Patheos.com. Turn towards Google to look up Bristol’s page if you would like to see it for yourself.

3 She Takes Her Religion Very Seriously

As we see above, Bristol is a pretty religious person. The aforementioned blog is heavy with Christian values and beliefs. Bristol took to her Instagram story to let fans ask her questions and many asked about her divorce from Myer. “When asked if she ever saw herself getting married again in the future, she wrote back, "Honestly (right this second) no… my focus is on God and my kids. A relationship/guy isn't even close on my radar,” shares FoxNews.com. “"Thank you, I try to be a decent person. I'm a work in progress," she explained. "Nothing to be sorry about a divorce – it's life! God cleans our slates, forgives our sins and covers us with His grace! Life is good! My kids are happy and healthy and that's all I can ask for!” she added.

2 She’s An Animal Person

Bristol has always been an advocate for ethical and moral sportsmanship of hunting, fishing and the like. But her love of animals really shines through her love for her dog, Lucy, who makes many appearances on her Instagram account. She made a heartwarming post last year on the dog’s fifth birthday. “The 26-year-old mother-of-three is known for honoring her loved ones on Instagram, and her dog Lucy is no exception. Bristol proudly shared images of the pup with her eldest daughter, Sailor Grace, and her son, Tripp, as well as a snapshot of Lucy with her nine-year-old brother, Trig. 'My Luce girl's 5th birthday! only dog I'll ever love [heart emoji] best ever,' she captioned the three images,” states DailyMail.Co.Uk.

1 She Loves Spending Time Outdoors

One glance at Bristol’s Instagram and you can see she loves to spend time outdoors. From hunting and fishing excursions to hiking adventures, there’s no shortage of outdoor eye candy available on her gram. Luckily for OG fans, this means we will likely get to see Bristol out and about on said excursions, which will be a welcomed break from most of the other girls who pretty much hang close to home for the most part. When the rest of the cast does vacation, they tend to do so together. In season six we watched Catelynn, Amber and Maci travel to Puerto Rico together and in the most recent season of Teen Mom 2, Kail and Leah traveled to Hawaii together.
