Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt first became household names thanks to their role in the MTV reality show The Hills, opposite other well-known reality stars like Lauren Conrad and Audrina Patridge. The show documented how the couple’s relationship began causing a rift between Heidi and her friends, which made for boatloads of drama. While the couple originally eloped in Mexico in 2008, they had a televised wedding for The Hills fans the following year in April.

After their exit from The Hills in 2010, Heidi and Spencer continued chasing fame. They made headlines for everything from Heidi’s failed musical path (which the couple is said to have spent millions on) to her numerous enhancements, which she later revealed almost cost her life. In 2010, the couple surprised fans when they revealed Heidi had filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. However, they called off the separation the following year, later admitting it was just a huge publicity stunt.

Eventually, the fame and fortune of Speidi wore off, and the couple spent several years laying low. However, in 2017, they were back in the headlines again when it was revealed Heidi was pregnant with their first child. She soon gave birth to their son, Gunner. Since then, the fame-hungry couple has been trying to get themselves back in the spotlight and have even signed onto The Hills reboot, which will be airing this year. Read on to learn more about this iconic reality TV couple and how they’re raising their adorable little boy.

20 She Hasn't Been Welcomed Into Any ‘Mommy & Me’ Groups

Many new moms find ‘Mommy & Me’ groups are a great way to socialize their babies while meeting fellow mamas. And although it sounds like Heidi wanted to sign herself and baby Gunner up for one, her husband revealed she’s been having some trouble.

"Heidi's like blacklisted from the Mommy and Me cliques, which I keep telling her, 'Who wants to be in a selective Mommy and Me selective mean girl [group]?'" Spencer explained on the couple’s podcast, Too Fab reports.

Heidi added, "I thought, 'Oh maybe I could be a normal person who gets in there' like 'Ugh washed up reality star, do not let her in. It's so weird, every time I keep going up to the Mommy and Me groups they're like 'Group's full.' I'm like, okay, group's full? I've tried joining day one when group was not full!"

19 Their Baby Already Has An iPhone

Fans already know how social media obsessed Spencer and Heidi are. But it was still surprising when the new parents revealed they’d already purchased a cell phone for their baby, despite him being unable to use it. According to Spencer, they did it to keep his selfie game alive and well.

“I got an iPhone just for him, and I’ve already filled it up with videos and pictures,” Spencer said. Heidi added, “I have hundreds, for sure!” Of their first selfie as a family, Spencer revealed, “We did our first selfie with Enya playing ‘Only Time,’ which is one of my favorite songs.”

18 She Had A Makeup Artist In The Delivery Room

Heidi is known to be a bit extra, but she took things to a whole new level when it was revealed she had a makeup artist in the delivery room. We guess she wanted to look good for pictures?

E! News reports that the reality star had asked her close friend who works as a makeup artist to be present. She recalled having concealer applied between contractions. Casual, right? That same makeup artist ended up being named the godmother of baby Gunner, so it sounds like she would’ve been in the delivery room regardless of her makeup skills.

17 She Also Had $27,000 Worth Of Crystals Present

Think having a makeup artist in the delivery room is too much? Well then you’re not prepared for this! In addition to her beauty team, Heidi and her husband also made sure to have $27,000 worth of crystals in the delivery room in order to create a soothing ambiance when their little boy finally arrived into the world, E! News reports.

We guess this shouldn’t be too surprising as Spencer actually owns his own online crystal store called Pratt Daddy Crystals. The website boasts that the crystals are designed and handmade in LA. You can buy individual crystals or crystals incorporated into jewelry.

16 And Little Gunner Has His Own Social Media Pages Already

This family really loves selfies!

Heidi and Spencer admitted to choosing their baby’s names based on what handles were available on social media. “We had to ditch a couple names,” Spencer revealed during a podcast interview, Elite Daily reports. “This kid will have an iPhone at birth. I'm gonna teach this kid how to Snap when they're born, like, 'Put your finger here," he added.

The parents even created social media pages for their tyke before he was born. Nowadays, Spencer and Heidi fill it up with pictures of their beautiful blonde boy. We wonder when they’ll officially let him take the reins!

15 She Refuses To Hire A Nanny

While many celebrities need a bit of extra help to juggle parenthood with their hectic schedules, Heidi has been adamant about not wanting any hired help- at least not yet.

"I don't want a nanny," she told Paper magazine, explaining that it would mean less one-on-one time with Gunner. "I'm not ready to share him." The mom-of-one continued, "I've always wanted a family," she said. "I've been with Spencer for 11 years now, so I told him, 'You had me alone for 10 straight years.' We have a great marriage, and it was the perfect time for us to move into this next chapter."

However, Heidi has since gone back on her words and revealed that she does, indeed, have some part-time help.

14 Their Baby Is Going To Be On Reality TV

The Hills fans freaked out when MTV revealed last year that it was bringing back a reboot of the popular reality show. Tons of the original cast members have already signed on, including Heidi and Spencer. And it wasn’t a tough decision for them to have baby Gunner featured on the show, too! Last October, The Daily Mail published photos of the couple and their son filming for the reboot. Considering they’ve spoken about wanting their baby to become a social media influencer, we guess this move isn’t too surprising. We can’t wait to see how adorable Gunner is on TV!

13 She Doesn’t Put Up With Tantrums

Even though Spencer and Heidi seem like an easygoing, fun-loving couple, the two have revealed their plans to be strict parents. Perhaps they don’t want their son repeating their same mistakes in the spotlight…

Speaking to In Touch, Heidi once said that she has no patience for temper tantrums. "We're going to be strict. I will have a zero-tolerance rule: no tantrums, no screaming in restaurants,” she explained. Spencer chimed in, "I'll make rules, but I will also explain them, so my child understands why each one is in place."

It sounds like Gunner must be a very well-behaved child!

12 The Baby Only Listens To Christian Music

In addition to maintaining that they’d be strict parents, Spencer has also said he plans on restricting the music his son listens to. While he and Heidi have no qualms about listening to all music on the radio, he said he’ll make sure his son only listens to Christian music.

"Heidi will be the disciplinarian. She'll only let them listen to Christian music, never my trap music! And she hates swearing, so that won't be allowed,” he explained to In Touch. We wonder how that rule will fly when their little one enters his teenage years!

11 Spencer Refuses To Change Diapers

Heidi isn’t the only drama queen in this relationship!

Back when Heidi was pregnant, a source told Life & Style that Spencer had no intentions of changing his son’s diapers. “Heidi is thrilled about being pregnant, but Spencer is making the experience very difficult for her,” they explained. “He’s made it very clear that he will never, ever change a diaper. He’s been so unsupportive.”

Although Spencer has yet to publicly comment on his baby’s diaper changes, we’re hoping he changed his tune before Heidi went into labor. Or else he probably had one very unhappy (and tired) wife.

10 She Was In Between Homes While Pregnant, Moving From Santa Barbara To L.A.

Many parents-to-be would say it would be their least favorite thing ever to have to move while pregnant. But that’s exactly what Spencer and Heidi had to do when they relocated from Santa Barbara to L.A. in 2017.

“We've been moving so much, and I haven't had the chance to even do the nursery,” a then-6-month-pregnant Heidi told Entertainment Tonight. “I have no idea what I need, and the baby registry and the baby shower... so, I definitely need the next few months to prepare.” She added, “[I learned] that no pink’s allowed in our son’s baby room! That was, like… I love the color pink. So, that kind of threw me off.”

9 She Swears She Never Gets Any Sleep

Heidi has always been busy focusing on her work, but now there’s a new reason she has sleepless nights. The star has mentioned on multiple occasions how she barely sleeps through the night anymore. There’s either too much to do or too much on her mind.

"The most sleep I get is two hours — sometimes three," she told Paper magazine. "I'm usually up every hour with Gunner, it's really intense. Gunner's given me a whole new strength that I didn't know. I feel like I am stronger than I've ever been emotional. At the end of the day, I'm his mom, and that's my main priority."

8 The Umbilical Cord Was An Issue During Delivery

While the couple has made it seem like baby Gunner’s delivery was smooth and simple if the crystals had anything to do with it, they’ve since revealed that it was a bit more complicated than they initially let on.

Speaking to Us Weekly, Heidi explained that the doctor became worried when the umbilical cord became a problem. “If I didn’t push him out exactly when I did, it would have been problematic. It was a blessing how it all worked out," Heidi revealed about the moment.

However, she added that she didn't know anything was amiss until after she'd given birth (which may have been a blessing in the end). She said, "I found out afterwards, but I saw a look on my doctor’s face that told me something was wrong. It was serious.”

7 They’re Thinking About Moving Somewhere Smaller

Currently, Spencer and Heidi are still based in LA. But they’ve discussed the possibility of moving to a smaller town to give their family a better and quieter life (although something tells us we’ll never stop hearing about Speidi!).

During a Paper magazine interview, Heidi mentioned they were considering Colorado as an option so they could raise their baby with “different values.” She added that, in California, “you’re not as sheltered.” "I just want him to enjoy his life, and not live in his parents' mistakes or shadows,” the reality star added.

6 Spencer Almost Ruined The Labor Over Hummingbirds

Yes, you read that right.

Evidently, Spencer has become a hummingbird enthusiast in recent years. Back in 2017 when his wife went into labor, the reality star is said to have delayed getting her to the hospital in order to tend to his 30 hummingbird feeders.

“There was no way our baby was going to come home to a starving hummingbird sanctuary,” Spencer told Us Weekly about the bizarre story. “I was like, ‘This is an emergency!’” However, as her contractions got worse, Heidi became less patient. She added, “I tried being patient, but it was getting ridiculous. I was like, ‘Honey, we have to go!’”

5 They Consider Themselves Strict Parents

We’ve established that Heidi and Spencer were pretty wild back in the day. So no fans expected the number of rules the parents would have for their first baby. However, they’ve maintained that they’re pretty strict.

“We're gonna be very loving parents,” Heidi told Entertainment Tonight while pregnant. “Very strict, too. I wanna have a lot of boundaries with our kids.”

Spencer added, “She was saying last night at dinner with my parents that our child is not going to be out at a restaurant with an iPad and headphones, and I was like, you're right!” he continued. “They're gonna have virtual reality at that point. So, we're in agreement.”

4 A Former Co-Star Is The Godmother

Nope, it’s definitely not Lauren Conrad!

While Speidi have said they’re not super close with most of their former The Hills co-stars anymore, there is one that holds a special place in their heart- Jen Bunney. The couple actually made her the godmother of their baby boy, announcing it on social media several days after his delivery.

“Cheers! I have one of Gunner’s godmothers here, Jen Bunney,” Heidi wrote online. “We’re celebrating Gunner. He’s the best baby ever. We love him so much.” Jen was also the makeup artist who was present in the delivery room to touch up Heidi’s makeup.

3 She Talks Parenting On Her Podcast

In January 2018, Spencer and Heidi launched the first episode of their very own podcast, aptly titles Make Speidi Famous Again. While they discuss all sorts of topics on the show, the parents have given a large focus on parenting, often sharing their anecdotes and advice for raising a little one.

A press release for the podcast described it as: "Pull back the curtain on their lives, share their adventure into parenthood, invite celebrity friends for conversation, and give their trademark takes on the latest in pop culture and reality television."

Will you be tuning in?

2 The House Always Needs To Be Spotless

With their wild personalities, we’ve never pegged either Heidi or Spencer to be the cleanest celebrities in the world. However, Heidi has revealed that becoming a mom has really brought out her clean side. Nowadays, she can’t stand it if her house is a mess.

During an interview with Paper Magazine, the interviewer mentioned that the celebrity asked the crew to wear disposable shoe covers while inside her house. "It's weird to think I was a person before Gunner," Heidi explained. "It's either covers on or shoes off. I want to keep the floor germ-free for the baby."

We wish we had that much motivation to keep our house tidy!

1 They Bring Him To Hollywood Events Parties

While a Hollywood party or event might not seem like the greatest place for a baby to be, Heidi and Spencer don’t seem to mind. The couple has been spotted taking their tyke to all sorts of events.

Most notably, the pair brought him on the red carpet at the 2018 MTV Music Awards. The little one wore a matching outfit with his look-a-like dad while Heidi shined bright in a silver dress.

That same month, the couple made headlines for taking baby Gunner to a Hollywood pool party. Heidi posted on social media about how tiring it was carrying her then-30-pound baby and all of their pool gear. #MomLife
