This year's Met Gala was held on Monday, and we have to say — the looks we've seen definitely make this year one of our favorites. For the few who are not familiar with the event, the Met Gala — formally called The Costume Institute Gala at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art — is probably the biggest event on the fashion calendar.

Every year, the crème de la crème of the rich and famous show up to present us their interpretation of the annual theme, and this year's theme was "Camp," based on Susan Sontag’s seminal 1964 essay Notes on "Camp." In the essay, Sontag states that "the hallmark of Camp is the spirit of extravagance. Camp is a woman walking around in a dress made of three million feathers." And we have to point out — feathers were a common favorite among the attendees.

Our list, however, will focus on the most glamorous, elegant, and stunning species of celebrity: the celebrity mom. Some of the ladies went a bit more crazy with the theme, while others held back — but at the end of the day, they all looked gorgeous.

Here they are, 25 beautiful looks that celebrity moms served us at this year's Met Gala!

25 Candice Swanepoel

Let's kick the list off with supermodel Candice Swanepoel. The 30-year-old mother of two looked absolutely stunning at this year's Met Gala. According to Daily Mail, the blonde Victoria's Secret Angel wore a sky blue strapless Atelier Prabal Gurung gown featuring taffeta tiered train. As you can tell, the dress was very much sparkling — mainly because of the Swarovski crystals embroidered throughout it. Personally, we think the hair stole the show here, and whoever came up with using strands of her blonde locks like that is an absolute hair genius. We definitely hope she starts a trend, and you bet we'll be spending hours in front of the mirror trying to recreate it!

24 Emily Blunt

Next on our list is 36-year old Hollywood actress Emily Blunt. The star — who has two kids with fellow actor John Krasinski — absolutely stunned us on Monday at the Gala. Elle Magazine writes how the actress was 'solid gold' in this beautiful Michael Kors Collection gown with a gold floral hat by Stephen Jones. We can definitely tell that the star showed up with a look slightly out of her comfort zone, but hey — that goes along with the theme of the night! As usual, her makeup was perfection, and while her look wasn't the craziest we've seen this year, it may have been one of our faves.

23 Celine Dion

Next on our list is everyone's favorite diva from Canada — Celine Dion. The 51-year-old singer showed up on Monday wearing a fringy golden Oscar de la Renta look with an intricate feathery headpiece that, according to National Post, weighed 22 pounds. Celine, who has been performing in Las Vegas for over a decade, was definitely serving us a showgirl-inspired look and we are so here for it. The mother of three definitely still has it, and we absolutely love a diva who doesn't shy away from making a statement!

22 Cardi B

Cardi B, whose daughter didn't even turn one yet, definitely gave us one of the longest gown trains that night. According to Cosmo, the 26-year-old rapper wore a burgundy gown by Thom Browne. But of course, the super long train wasn't enough of a statement on its own, so the gown actually included some feathered shoulders, as well as a bejeweled headpiece that covered all of the star's hair. Naturally, this meant that extra care had to be given to the makeup, and Cardi B definitely didn't disappoint.

21 Jennifer Lopez

We couldn't write this list without everyone's favorite mom from the block — Jennifer Lopez. The 49-year-old actress and singer, who is also on our vampire list for obvious reasons, showed up wearing this beautiful glittering fringe Versace gown, that Daily Mail described as showgirl chic. She paired the gown with an elaborate fringe headdress and very expensive-looking heart necklace. As far as the makeup goes, it was a very classic J.Lo look with a dark smokey eye and natural-tone lips.

20 Katie Holmes

Let's move on to Hollywood actress Katie Holmes who wore, in our opinion, one of the most gorgeous purple gowns of the night. According to Marie Claire, the 40-year-old mother showed up in a stunning custom-made Zac Posen purple mermaid-style gown, one that was made of 300 yards of multi-layered hand-sewn tulle. The statement piece was definitely the palm-leaf inspired collar that was actually made with a 3D printer. Now if that doesn't scream 'camp', we really don't what does!

19 Zoe Saldana

40-year-old actress Zoe Saldana was serving us some retro vibes in this rather disco-inspired look. The Michael Kors gown was rust-colored with embedded glitter beads and it had a big slit up the leg. The matching necktie and purple faux flowers brought the perfect amount of exaggerated glam to the look. But let's be real, the makeup is what caught most of our attention, and while it was absolute glittery perfection — we do feel a bit sorry for the star for having to deal with the trouble of taking it off at the end of the night. Anyone who ever attempted to do a glittery eye-look knows the struggle.

18 Mindy Kaling

One star that definitely surprised us with her look was 39-year-old actress Mindy Kaling. The mother showed up with luscious blonde hair — a look we definitely didn't expect from her. According to Daily Mail, the actress wore a gold shimmering, of the shoulder Moschino gown with some sky-high Casadei pumps and dangly gold earrings. If you ask us, we think the blonde suits the actress, and we hope to see it more often. Mindy once again proves that moms can and do look fabulous!

17 Salma Hayek

Alright, before we comment on her dress, can we just say that actress Salma Hayek seriously must be a vampire — she doesn't seem to age at all. The 52-year-old mom wore a black-and-gold, striped sequin Gucci gown with a very glamorous crown topped bun proving once again that she is a queen we all need to be thankful for. The actress decided to combine the bold dress with even bolder makeup because at the Met Gala you either go big or go home.

16 Ciara

Harper's Bazaar wrote that singer Ciara took home the award for biggest and best hair look of the night — and we absolutely couldn't agree more. The 33-year-old mother of two wowed us in a custom Peter Dundas emerald-green gown with such intricate shimmery detailing that it's almost too precious to wear. Ciara, who has never looked better in all these geometric cutouts and slits, definitely had the biggest hair of the evening — we can almost hear Damian say how it's full of secrets.

15 Kylie Jenner

Kylie Jenner, the world's youngest self-made billionaire (according to Forbes), also attended this year's Met Gala, and we have to say, the reality star and makeup mogul looked absolutely amazing. The 21-year-old wore a beautiful lavender feathered Versace dress with a matching long lavender wig. As expected, her makeup was flawless, but we expect nothing less from her at this point. She showed up to the Gala with boyfriend Travis Scott, leaving their one-year-old daughter Stormi home with a babysitter.

14 Gal Gadot

Let's move on to Hollywood actress Gal Gadot, who stunned everyone in a white lace Givenchy Haute Couture mini dress with a — in true Wonder Woman manner — matching white cape. I mean, what else would one wear when they have the Met Gala at 7, but need to save the world at 8... alright, we're stopping with those jokes — promise! To top the look off, the 34-year-old mother wore some black thigh-high boots and a gorgeous silver headband with large pearls and matching dangly earrings. She kept the makeup simple, allowing the dress and headpiece to be the center of attention.

13 Doutzen Kroes

The 34-year-old supermodel Doutzen Kroes was a vision in red, but honestly, if there's anyone we expect to do great at a Met Gala theme — it's supermodels. According to Just Jared, the mother of two wore a bold pink lace and tulle Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown with a long train, which she decided to pair with pulled-back sleek hair and very glam makeup. Doutzen definitely gave us one of the more old-school glamorous looks of the evening — proving once again that the brightest stars of the night were mothers.

12 Gwen Stefani

Speaking of glam moms — how gorgeous did singer Gwen Stefani look? We already mentioned that Celine Dion was giving us Las Vegas showgirl vibes, and so did Gwen. The 49-year-old star wore a stunning bejeweled leotard, custom-made by Moschino's Jeremy Scott — and she paired it with Gwen's signature look: a high ponytail and some vibrant red lipstick. This mom definitely knows how to combine glam with rocker-chic and lots of sparkles — and trust us, not every celeb can pull that off.

11 Julianne Moore

Next on our list is Academy Award winner Julianne Moore. The redhead looked elegant in a metallic, ruffled Valentino gown that perfectly flaunted her gorgeous hair and green eyes. Honestly, we would never be able to tell that this gorgeous lady is 58 years old, she definitely is on our 'suspiciously young-looking celebs who are most likely vampires' list. Seriously, Julianne doesn't look like she's aging at all, and it seems as if motherhood is somehow keeping her young and gorgeous.

10 Serena Williams

We love that Serena Williams decided to pair a fun yellow Atelier Versace gown with a pair of highlighter green Nike x Off-White sneakers — because who says a gown needs to be worn with fancy heels? Besides, when you have the Met Gala at 7 and a tennis match at 8, what else are you going to wear? Jokes aside, we love that the 37-year-old switched things up a bit, and we think she looked fabulous that night!

9 Kerry Washington

The 42-year-old actress Kerry Washington has what seemed like one of the more laid-back looks of the evening, but we still think she definitely fulfilled the theme of the night. Entertainment Tonight writes that the Hollywood star wore a peach Tory Burch gown that had the words "negativity is noise" written all over it. To match it, she had custom rings with the same message and a beautiful black Lorraine Schwartz headband with matching earrings. Kerry can definitely pull off any look and still be gorgeous.

8 Penelope Cruz

Hollywood actress Penelope Cruz definitely had one of the more tame looks of the night, but that doesn't mean it was unremarkable. The 45-year-old mother of two wore a very cool monochrome Chanel gown inspired by Chanel's vintage 1987 Haute Couture collection. If you ask us, the true star of the look are her blunt bangs — we love a celeb who isn't afraid to switch her hair up. The shorter bangs are definitely not a look everyone can pull off, but they make Penelope look as fierce as ever!

7 Gisele Bundchen

Number ten on our list is supermodel Gisele Bundchen who gave us a sleek chic look. The 38-year-old mother of two came with hubby Tom Brady, but we can assure you that all eyes were on her! According to the model's social media post, her Dior gown was not only beautiful but also sustainable — and we love a celeb who also cares about the planet. To match it, Gisele rocked a blush smokey eye, keeping the rest of her look simple, yet pretty.

6 Solange Knowles

While older sister Beyoncé didn't attend this year's gala, Solange Knowles walked the pink carpet and definitely turned heads. According to Harper's Bazaar, the 32-year-old mother of two wore a custom Salvatore Ferragamo python print ensemble designed by creative director Paul Andrew. We think the look is the perfect amount of fierce and fabulous but still comfy and wearable. Wearing a full-on matching look can often go wrong, but Solange has enough experience with red carpets to know how to do it properly.
