Most people probably have not actually been to a family reunion that included celebrities. Most family reunions probably include a bunch of great people, a handful of oddballs, and a couple dogs and cats. Sound about right?

Well, in addition to a crock pot full of burned baked beans at the food table, a family reunion including a celebrity is a lot like anyone else's. Or at least, that's what we're going to believe. Maybe they hire a caterer for the baked beans, not sure...

Here's the thing, even though celebrities like to be in the spotlight, we don't always know much about their family. Especially not their extended family. For instance, does anyone know the name of Tom Cruise's cousin? Albeit, this is slightly less important information than let's say, when one's water bill is due.

But, for the fun of things, most people probably wouldn't know, right? And they certainly wouldn't assume it was another famous person. (Hint: it totally is) So, let's dive into some entertaining information slightly less important than the water bill due date.

Here's a list of 15 celebrities most people didn't realize are related. Enjoy!

15 Julia Roberts and Emma Roberts

Sometimes it seems like having a famous last name might be a huge plus when you are trying to win the same claim to fame. It's been said that some famous last names even serve as "coattails," per se. But, that's not the case for Emma Roberts. Emma is the gorgeous Julia Roberts' niece.

Eric Roberts is Julia's brother and the father of Emma. According to Dailymail, He and Kelly Cunningham were partners before separating when Emma's was just seven months old. Her mother raised her alone as Eric was often battling his addictions.

Julia Roberts is already a household name and Emma is well on her way. She made her film debut in the movie Blow when she was just nine years old. Like her aunt, she's been on a roll since.

14 Liev Schreiber And Pablo Schreiber

Two very handsome men being related, no! Believe it because it's true. Eonline.com posted that Liev and Pablo Schreiber are actually half brothers. Obviously, by their last name, they have the same father Tell Carroll Schreiber. If you're a huge fan of Orange is the New Black then you know Pablo's character "Pornstache." Though without his mustache, he's absolutely dreamy.

His half brother Liev is an actor, director, screenwriter, and producer. Unlike his younger brother, Liev had a rather unusual upbringing mostly due to the extremely eccentric ways of his mother. Nevertheless, he's become one of the most respected actors in Hollywood. Typically keeping a low profile, we know that he and his longtime partner Naomi Watts split back in 2016, but not before making beautiful babies together.

13 Elle King And Rob Schneider

The former SNL cast member had one request for his daughter and it was that she keep his name. But, she had other plans. Rob Schneider and Elle King are father and daughter. The funny man and model London King had a beautiful daughter Tanner Elle Schneider. They gave her a life of movie set adventures and the real show time experience.

After the couple divorced, Elle moved to Ohio with her mother who ended up marrying Justin Tesa. It was actually Elle's stepfather who nurtured the musician in her. According to ABC News, she claims, "I am only a musician because of him."

But, back to the last name ordeal. Elle King decided to take her mother's last name so that she wouldn't be granted approval simply because of the Schneider name. More than anything, she wanted her talent to speak for itself. And, it most certainly does!

12 Tom Cruise And William Mapother

To start things off on these two men, just look at the chin. Yep, they're related! At least, their chins are. For those of you who don't know, Tom Cruise's name really isn't Cruise. His real name is Thomas Mapother. That sort of explains how these two cousins could go for so long not being identified as relation.

As it turns out, the Lost actor William Mapother is Tom's cousin. Like the McCarthy cousins (coming up), the Mapother cousins also support one another. In fact, William has acted in five films with Tom – Born on the Fourth of July, Magnolia, Mission: Impossible II, Vanilla Sky and Minority Report.

11 Brandy And Snoop Dogg

There's a good chance that you already know singers Brandy and Ray J are brother and sister. If you follow them on social media the you've gotten used to them regularly posting about each other and even sparring online a little bit. They've even walked the red carpet hand-in-hand together on several occasions.

Surprisingly enough, they are also both related to another unforgettable musical artist Snoop Dogg. In fact, the brother-sister duo are very close to their cousin. Brandy and Snoop Dogg have even collaborated as she was featured in one of his music videos. Introducing him as family, Ray J was also a guest on Snoop Dogg's YouTube show.

10 Meryl Streep And Mamie Gummer

Many believe that one of the greatest things we can do as parents, aside from the regular parenting stuff, is simply to pursue something you love. For mother-daughter duo Maryl Streep and Mamie Gummer, this was accomplished.

In the movie Ricki and the Flash, they even have the chance to play on-screen mother-daughter. And, of course, totally nailed it.

Mamie told The Telegraph, “But I’m so grateful that my mum is fulfilled by what she does. I imagine it’s hard for women – and men – who have to give up what they love. I admire my parents enormously. They both do what they love and it makes them happy – and makes for a happy home.”

9 Quincy Jones And Rashida Jones

Quincy Jones is a multi-platinum record-winning producer and he's also the dad of the gorgeous and talented Rashida Jones. Rashida has six siblings, all of which are talented and good-looking. From models to actresses to musicians, the Jones crew is cram-packed full of living legends.

You might be familiar with Rashida from the sitcom Parks and Recreation. She's also landed roles on the big screen and as a cast members of several major network TV shows. Although Quincy Jones was gallivanting around making music much of the time, he managed to stay connected with each of his seven children. It seems that not only do his kiddos share his love for the limelight, but also share a deep connection with him, as well.

8 Lily Allen And Alfie Allen

Maybe you're familiar with Theon Greyjoy from the increasingly popular show Game of Thrones. And, it could be that you know the English singer, songwriter, actress, and television presenter Lily Allen. But, aside from a few Game of Throne rumors, did you know that they truly are brother and sister?

Yes, their parents are actor Keith Allen and film producer Alison Owen. Now, back to the devious Game of Throne rumor...

According to Bustle, Alfie forbid his sister Lily from talking about Game of Thrones again. She claimed, "I am not even allowed to mention the letters of what the show starts with. Alfie put me under strict orders." There were rumors that Lily had been offered a rather questionable roll on the show, but neither of them really want to talk about it.

7 Lenny Kravitz and Al Roker

On an episode of TODAY, beloved weatherman Al Roker and American Woman singer Lenny Kravitz discussed the possibility of them being related. As it goes, their grandfathers were cousins. Lenny explained, "We both have Roker. My mother was Roxie Roker, my grandfather, Albert Roker from the Bahamas. Has to be."

Al Roker didn't argue it a bit. In fact, he said, "All I know is I'm going with it. Kids think it's cool." To connect the dots a little bit, Lenny's mom is Roxie Roker who played Hellen Willis on the CBS sitcom The Jeffersons. She was the wife of the first interracial couple ever to be portrayed on prime time TV. You might see now where Lenny gets his fearlessness and tenacity.

6 Melanie Griffith and Dakota Johnson

It's not everyday that you get to go to the Golden Globes to help your mom pick up an award only to find yourself there hoping to pick up your own award years later. It's no surprise that this mother-daughter duo are rumored to have a feisty relationship. After all, they are clearly very close to each other.

Dakota Johnson is the daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith. Obviously, her parents are both famous, but she's gaining her own popularity. For those of you who were on the Fifty Shades of Grey bandwagon (the movie, that is), you know that she is the leading lady Anastasia Steele. The movie might have been a little too much for Melanie to handle, though, as she was openly reluctant to watch it.

5 Melissa McCarthy And Jenny McCarthy

Having a famous cousin can mean one of two things (or possibly both). It could mean that family reunions are super annoying because the entire family seems obsessed with the one famous person eating at Uncle Charlie's table. Or, it could mean that they help you get your foot into the door of Hollywood. Who knows if both scenarios have played out in the McCarthy family or not.

What we do know is that Jenny and Melissa are cousins in real life. And, Jenny did help Melissa land her first guest role on Jenny's sitcom back in the 90s. From there, Melissa's career has only skyrocketed. While her and Jenny might not be BFFs, they support and defend each other 100%.

4 Jason Sudeikis And George Wendt

Do you ever wish that you could go where everybody knows your name? Well, George Wendt did, too. Especially while he played Norm on the Boston-based sitcom Cheers. In fact, that was exactly his career advice for his nephew actor Jason Sudeikis. Wendt told him to land him a role on one of the best sitcoms and then ride it out, which is exactly as we know Wendt - sitting as his character Norm on his trusty barstool.

Jason is also known as a funny man, but has a slightly more versatile career than his uncle. Having two famous people in the family wasn't enough for them as Jason decided to partner up with actress Olivia Wilde. I think you'll agree in the comical nature of that family reunion.

3 Steven Spielberg And Jessica Capshaw

Although Steven Spielberg's face isn't plastered all over the big screen, his work most definitely is. Actually, I'm not sure there are many people who don't know him. His stepdaughter Jessica Capshaw probably isn't as famous, but she's also etched her place in Hollywood as Jamie Stringer on The Practice and Dr. Arizona Robbin on Grey's Anatomy.

Jessica's parents are Robert and Kate Capshaw, but the two separated when Jessica was just three years old. She moved from Missouri to California where little Jessica was well-known for playing on her mom's movie sets when she was very young. That's actually where she met Steven Spielberg - on the set of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom where her mom was playing the lead lady. You can probably figure out the rest of the story.

2 Rip Torn And Sissy Spacek

Since the 1950s, he's been known for many roles on the big screen. One of the most recent and most popular is his character Zed on the Men in Black series. Sissy Spacek broke onto the Hollywood scene as the telekinetic prom queen Carrie, then went on to play Loretta Lynn in the movie Coal Miner's Daughter.

These two celebrities are both from Texas and it just so happens that they're also cousins! Rip Torn actually helped Sissy get her start in acting when he suggested that she enroll in Lee Strasburg’s famed Actor’s Studio. She moved to New York City and you now the rest of the story. The funny thing about them both being from Texas is that there are actually a few small Texas towns that claim them.

1 Zoey Deutch And Lea Thompson

The mother and daughter duo looked almost identical as they graced the red carpet for the 30th anniversary of the Back to the Future trilogy. Lea Thompson played Lorraine, Marty McFly's (Michael J. Fox) mom, both the younger and older version.

The fact that these two are related is often forgotten. But, Zoey Deutch is making splashes of her own. You might know her from playing Rose on Vampire Academy. More recently in 2017, she was featured in Ed Sheeran's music video for his song "Perfect." This year marks the release of the movies Richard Says Goodbye, Set It Up, and The Year of Spectacular Men. All of which she will be a part. Like mother like daughter. It must be in their density...err, destiny (for all you Back to the Future fans).
