6-Year Old Donates His Disneyland Trip Money To Hurricane Dorian Victims

Jermaine Bell, a six-year-old, empathetically showed compassion to people affected by Hurricane Dorian by donating the money saved for his Disney trip.

Have we ever come across such a generous gesture from a six-year-old? Probably not! Jermaine Bell is just like any other kid in his neighbourhood- until he decided to put other's needs before his desires, that is. The boy lives in South Carolina and turned seven on the 8th of September. He has been saving money to celebrate his birthday in Disneyland but has now postponed the vacation to help people evacuating Florida due to the Hurricane Dorian disaster.

Jermaine has fed almost 100 evacuees with hot dogs, chips, and water while standing alongside Highway 125 with posters filled with captions offering food to people on their way to safe places.

He said, "The people that are traveling to go to places, I wanted them to have some food to eat, so they can enjoy the ride to the place that they're going to stay at, I wanted to be generous and live to give." WJBF took to Twitter with a picture of the kid holding a poster that read "Dorian Evacuees Free Hot Dogs and Water".

The tweet also said, " 6-year-old Jermaine Bell has been saving his money to get to Disney World, but amid Hurricane Dorian making its way to the United States, he wanted to find a way to help evacuees."

People across the globe are appreciating his efforts, thus it' s no wonder his selfless act went viral when a passerby launched a GoFundMe page, which raised funds to make his dream to Disneyworld real.

Kristin Hutchins Brown, the founder of the fundraising effort, said, "His hope was to help bring peace and kindness to people who had to leave their homes, I believe he has touched even more than that! My heart leaped after finding out more details about this story and really felt called to help this sweet boy's dream come true! Let's help Jermaine get to Disney." The total funds collected have exceeded it's $5,000 goal and received about $12,000 for Bell's trip.

Jermaine is also seen giving moral strength and offering prayers for the well-being of the evacuees as well as safety for their houses that have been forced to leave. His grandmother and father are all so proud of their "6-year-old who has a big heart and big dreams".

If everything goes well, Bell can fulfill his dream to visit "Animal Kingdom and see lots of lions and have a Lion King party." Apart from the fund-raising, the official account of Delta Airlines commented on CNN's tweet asking about the info of the child and their willingness to take him to Disneyworld. Plenty of other Twitter users are trying to make ends meet by advocating about rewarding the kind act bestowed by the child.

With so many blessings and support, we can be assured that he will soon accomplish his dream and be rewarded for having such kind heart and compassion.
