Jett had a very special first birthday party because he was Aladdin of Agrabah for his special day. Lynn Puzzo, a self-proclaimed Disney-lover herself, laboured over the set for Jett’s photoshoot—complete with costumes and a magic carpet. Along with the filming of a cake smash, the shoot was a smashing success.

Disney-themed birthday parties are all the rage now, especially with the recent release of remakes of classic Disney favourites; the most recent being Aladdin. Complete with songs from the original movie, parents and kids alike are enchanted by Disney’s magic once again. With the upcoming premiere of Lion King’s remake, birthday parties might move from Agrabah to Pride Rock.

Jett’s parents requested Puzzo to have an Aladdin-themed cake smash for his birthday coming up on August 5th. Even though she’s a Disney fanatic herself, Puzzo made sure to watch the new movie to refresh her memory of the animated film’s details. The result was a background set complete with a plushie Abu, a magic lamp, a magic carpet, and all the little details of the market in Agrabah as Aladdin sings “One Jump Ahead.” Jett was dressed in Aladdin’s signature purple vest, and he posed with the stolen apple from the market. The cake was decorated with the gems from the cave where the lamp was stored and a tiny genie ready to grant a wish.

Puzzo’s work went viral last month when she created a Starbucks-themed photo shoot featuring cute babies who smashed a frappuccino cake. The photos feature a very happy child who destroyed the cake in order to take some satisfying bites out of it. While she is a bigger fan of Disney, Puzzo is also quite enthusiastic about her Starbucks drinks, so both sets were a labour of love for her to create.

It goes to show that your creativity flows when you’re doing something you’re inspired to do. In Puzzo’s case, she was able to create beautiful sets and take amazing photos due to her excitement of the themes presented. Whether it’s coffee or an animated film, you should let your creativity flow to pay homage to your favourite things!
