The announcement was to be made on Instagram, and it was the first thing she checked when she woke up: "I wake up in the morning and it’s my dad. I was like, ‘This is not what I was expecting; this is not very fun.’"
Later on in the day, she called him about an entirely different matter altogether, but he brought it up anyway and here is what she had to say: "Oh, yeah. That. That thing. Uh, okay, cool. You're welcome."
7 He's Proud That His Kids Inherited His Character Traits
The drop-dead gorgeous part is rather obvious; his daughter is absolutely stunning. Perhaps she was not pleased with him when he revealed that he believed that both she and Winston had inherited his introverted, overthinking personality.
“My children are extremely shy, and I’m quite shy, in reality…we just overanalyze everything,” Idris admitted.

Again, the mystery of teenagers continues. Dads get to be both embarrassing and cool at the same time! However, Isan could not help getting impressed when her dad got an opportunity to play a set at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
“It was a cool dad moment. I was looking at the list and saw Virgil Abloh… and right under him I saw Idris Elba. I was in my bed and he was sleeping, so I couldn’t even say congratulations,” Isan said. Then, she hoped that his being there would be the perfect excuse for her to attend the popular festival, as she had never been. She had to cross her fingers, as she was not sure if her dad would let her skip school.

Like any other immensely proud dad, he could not help praising his daughter when she took her place on the stage as the 2019 Golden Globe Ambassador. During this event where the crème of British stars were feted, her role was to hand the awards. Isan was incredibly graceful, confident, and polite in her multi-colored metallic gown.
He joined her on stage and promised to be a ‘cool dad’, but he had to show off his pride in an Instagram video: “The Golden Globes tonight are unbelievably special. I get to watch my daughter on that stage…We’re very proud to see her on the stage. Wow, what an amazing evening.”

Idris stole the show when he took Isan, then fourteen, to the awards as his date. He was presenting the Best Cinematography award, but Isan was the focus of the night when she joined him on the red carpet, looking incredibly chill. Most girls her age would most likely have been screaming their lungs out for Channing Tatum or another star, but she was really cool.
