Alicia Silverstone Credits Veganism As An Explanation For Her Son's Good Behaviour

According to celebrity mom Alicia Silverstone, one of the reasons why her son is so well-behaved all the time is because he’s a vegan. At least, that’s what she believes. The Hollywood actress recently credited veganism for her 8-year-old son Bear’s good behavior, both at school and at home. Here’s what she has to say.

According to Us Weekly, Silverstone says that her family’s vegan diet is the reason why they not only have a “harmonious” relationship but also the reason why she doesn’t have any disciplinary problems with her son. Silverstone says that throughout her eight years as a mother, she has never had to raise her voice with her son and she doesn’t plan on doing so either. The actress says that it all boils down to their healthy lifestyle and of course, respect.

She explained, “I can just say ‘no, thank you’ and we respect each other and listen to each other. So much of that is because he’s not … a lot of it is the parenting, but a lot of it is the food. When your kid feels good, they act well.”

Not only has little Bear never had a cheeseburger in his life, but he’s never had a fight with his mom, either. And while Alicia Silverstone does admit that motherhood does take every “morsel of your being,” she says that eating a plant-based diet helped her have more presence to enjoy her son. One of the first things she does when she wakes up every morning is enjoy a fruit smoothie that she helped make with MyKind Organics Turmeric Boost Powder. It not only gives her the energy she needs to start off her day, but also puts her in a pretty good mood as well. She added that it’s one of her favorite smoothies to make and it’s the best way for her to start each and every morning.

Silverstone explained, “Turmeric is so good for inflammation. That’s really the main thing and it’s good for your immune system. We have it with ginger in there. There’s probiotics in our formulation so it makes your body absorb it in the best way and assimilate it in the best way.”

Going back to her son Bear, Silverstone also said that he’s not much of a picky eater. She also revealed that his favorite food is kale and that he pretty much eats it every day. As far as his typical everyday meal, the proud celebrity mother says that Bear often eats bok choy along with cabbage, brown rice and quinoa.
