After a nasty months-long custody dispute, Teen Mom stars Amber Portwood and Andrew Glennon have officially reached a custody agreement of their 1-year old son.

Fans of the MTV reality show are aware that Andrew and Amber broke up after she was arrested for domestic assault in July. Her now-ex-boyfriend claims that she physically and verbally assaulted him in front of their young son, James. Andrew has made a variety of shocking allegations, including that Amber tried coming at him with a machete when their son was in his arms. Amber is currently facing domestic violence charges as a result.

Shortly after the dispute, Andrew filed for full custody of little James. He also filed a motion to move with him from Indiana, where the couple were living when their son was born, to Andrew’s home state of California. Amber subsequently filed an objection to stop her ex from moving out-of-state, and the two have now reportedly settled the dispute.

According to The Ashley, the courts did not grant Andrew permission to move to California with James. But this isn’t the final decision. The publication explains that the court has prevented Andrew from moving until an evidentiary hearing takes place. Afterwards, they will once again consider the father’s request.

The Department of Child Services (DCS) also helped the former couple work out a temporary custody agreement. Following the domestic incident, Amber was only permitted to have visitations with her son. But she will not share joint legal custody of James with Andrew, though Andrew will retain primary physical custody of the toddler.

This allows Amber to have a set amount of time with baby James per week. The Ashley explains she’s allowed three non-consecutive days per week. One of these days will be for 10 hours, while the others will be for 3. The parents also divided up the holidays and Amber will be allowed to stay with James for 8 hours during select holidays, which remain unspecified. She will also be allowed to have James overnight once a week, provided she has “exercised regular care responsibilities for the child.”

A no-contact order currently prevents Amber from being around her ex-boyfriend. As such, a third party will have to help transport James to and from his parents. They will also be responsible for doing check-ups on Amber’s parenting.

The parents had until October 16th to mutually decide on who the parenting coordinator would be, though it remains unclear to the public who that is. amber and Andrew will only be allowed to communicate through a parenting app that will restrict them to the topic of their son.

The parents have also agreed that James will not be filmed by MTV. This is unsurprising, given that Andrew has been very vocal against the network recently for deciding to keep Amber on the show despite the criminal charges against her. Amber has also agreed to not post any photos of their son on social media. Fans will have to wait for the next season of Teen Mom to see how these restrictions impact Amber’s storyline.
