Following the news of Teen Mom star Amber Portwood’s arrest for domestic battery, her baby daddy has reportedly filed for full custody of their 1-year old son.

According to The Ashley, on the morning following the Fourth of July, authorities were called to the Indiana home Amber shares with her boyfriend, Andrew Glennon, and their toddler, James. Andrew had reportedly called 911 after the reality star came at him with a machete while he was holding their son. Amber allegedly admitted to authorities she’d assaulted Andrew, leading to her arrest.

“She keeps a machete with a sheath on it,” a leaked police affidavit stated about the incident. “Amber picked up the machete, took the sheath off and looked at Andrew with a look so as she was moving around the bed, he took [the baby] into the office and closed the door and put his foot on it to hold it closed."

Only days after the incident took place, Andrew filed for an emergency hearing over custody of their child as well as a motion to establish paternity. Amber has since been ordered to stay away from Andrew as well as their son. The Department of Child Services has also launched its own investigation.

While speaking to CPS, Andrew reportedly said, “[Amber is] currently unable to provide a safe, stable, and secure environment for James on an ongoing basis due to her frequent refusal and/or failure to take medicines prescribed to treat her mental health conditions, among other concerns.”

On July 10th, Amber had her first court appearance in which she was charged with three felonies. She was accompanied by her mother, her first baby daddy, Gary Shirley, and his wife Kristina, and also her MTV producer, David Birch. Although Amber and her group denied speaking to reporters, TMZ did catch one line from Andrew. When asked how he was doing, he quietly muttered, “I’ve seen better days.”

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Amber has gotten into a domestic dispute with one of the fathers of her children. Almost a decade ago, the reality star assaulted her then-boyfriend Gary in front of their toddler daughter, Leah. The incident was caught on camera, resulting in Amber spending almost two years behind bars (and losing custody of her eldest).

Gary, who has full custody of Leah, has already spoken out about his ex’s most recent arrest. "My prayers are with @AmberLPortwood , Andrew, & most importantly baby James, idk any of the particulars, however I'm thinking of them,” he wrote via social media. He added, "And for all the questions and concerns Leah was/is currently camping with her best friend."
