Andrew Glennon is continuing to speak out amid his ongoing domestic violence and custody dispute with Teen Mom star Amber Portwood.
Most recently, the father-of-one turned to social media to criticize both MTV and the show’s advertisers for keeping the show on the air. He argued that, in doing so, the network and businesses are indirectly supporting domestic violence.
“These corporations apparently are in full support of domestic violence in the presence of a minor…” Andrew wrote online, in addition to a list of various companies that advertise during Teen Mom. He continued, “‘Redemption story’ to look forward to: 1) not hitting those who love you 2) not using drugs daily 3) loving and respecting children. 4) Ending all psychological abuse …. hope it plays for camera.”
Andrew’s online rant comes a month after MTV confirmed they will not be firing Amber Portwood after she was arrested for domestic battery against her ex-boyfriend. The network explained they want to give Amber the opportunity to share her side of the story.
But Andrew isn’t the only one who’s been critical of the decision. Fans of the show have pointed out the network’s hypocrisy in not firing Amber, as they previously let go Farrah Abraham after she continued to participate in adult (albeit legal) business ventures.
It was only this past July that Amber was arrested following a fight that turned physical in the home she shared with Andrew and their 1-year old son James. Andrew claims his now-ex both verbally threatened him and physically attacked him. One of the wildest accusations is that Amber came after Andrew with a machete while he was holding their son. Though she is currently out on bail, Amber is currently awaiting trial for her actions.
Amber has remained low-key on social media and hasn’t denied Andrew's claims of physical violence. She has alluded to their tumultuous relationship, however, including to suggest infidelity may have played a part in their break-up. Amber has said she’s looking forward to telling her side of things on the upcoming season of Teen Mom.
James is currently in the full-time care of his father, Andrew, who still lives in the home he used to share with Amber. Amber, on the other hand, is staying with her mother and only has visitation rights to her son. Andrew has already filed a motion to try and move out from Indianna to his hometown of California with the toddler, though Amber has filed an appeal.
