This holiday season brings double reasons to celebrate for Supergirl star Andrea Brooks, who just became a first-time mother!
As an announcement post, the new mom shared a black-and-white photo on Instagram of herself cradling her newborn daughter. She captioned it with, “..and then there was you.” She adorned it with a bright red heart.
Congratulatory comments flew in from fans, family, and friends alike. This included her costar Pascale Hutton, who left a red heart. Riverdale star Vanessa Morgan commented, “Crying. Can’t stop crying.”
30-year-old Brook first shared the news of her pregnancy with Entertainment Tonight back in July. She was in her fifth month at that time. While sharing her preparation plans for welcoming the baby, she said that she'd been avoiding Google because it frets her!
She explained, “It’s sneaking up. I’ve been attending my pregnancy classes and trying to avoid spending too much time on Google. I’m already a worry-wart, and sometimes the internet keeps me up worrying about some pretty strange things.”
Earlier this month, the When Calls the Heart star gave us a peek inside her nursery through two different Instagram posts. From there, we could see that instead of choosing a customary pink color for girls, she had painted the room blue.
She explained to ET that the "west coast whimsical" room was planned and adorned by close friend Marnie Olson. These two are childhood buddies, which made it easier for the designer to think of themes and ideas in sync with Brook’s childhood. The actor has been brought up in Vancouver, British Columbia Canada, which has instilled a fascination for nature - the forests, mountains, and the ocean.
"We wanted to turn the space into a calming oasis in the middle of the city," she added. "We tried to incorporate lots of wood and forest elements as represented through the pinecones, wooden furniture, family photos, air-purifying plants, and birds."
She wants her daughter to grow up appreciating the great outdoors and know her roots from early childhood. It has a lot of forest elements like pinecones, wooden furniture, family photos, air-purifying plants, and birds. The baby girl’s nursery has Brook’s childhood sheep named Baa-Baa. There are vintage family books from her grandmother, and a beautiful baby blanket knitted by her mother.
To maintain the balance, they have a gorgeous crib called Darlington by Million Dollar Baby Classic paired with the West Coast Kids exclusive Penny Glider in linen. She hopes that the nursery turns out to be a place where friends and family alike can spend quality time with the little one.
Brooks has been documenting her pregnancy on Instagram but has revealed nothing about the father of her baby. Still, congratulations are in order for the new mom! We hope her little munchkin grows up to appreciate the efforts she has been taking for her!
