Television host and producer Andy Cohen, 51, is easily becoming one of the most adorable fathers ever. He is taking the parenting world by storm with sweet updates about his 10-month old son Benjamin Allen. Most recently, Cohen told Seth Myers on Late Night that Benjamin said his first word, but Cohen was outside of the room!

Cohen talked about the moment with Myers and said, “I closed the door to leave and he goes, ‘Dada.’ So I didn’t hear it!” Myers was sympathetic with Cohen when he explained that his 20-month old son, Axel, did the same thing when saying goodbye to his grandparents. The two hosts then played a game of “never have I ever” and found out they have a lot in common when it comes to parenting (and some hilarious differences). Cohen revealed that he has eaten Benjamin’s baby food, talked excessively about baby clothes, and wished that he could be swaddled and rocked to sleep like Benjamin.

Cohen, who seems to still be single, welcomed Benjamin via surrogacy in February. Since he lives in New York, where surrogacy is illegal, he chose a surrogate who lived in California. Surrogacy can seem like a controversial topic because some believe that the women are only in it for the money, a family can’t bond with a baby they didn’t carry, or the surrogate will want to keep the baby. That is why it’s important to go through the proper steps to ensure that surrogacy is the right choice. Finding a reputable fertility doctor and surrogate agency are the first things a couple should do when considering surrogacy. Cohen built a professional relationship with his surrogate and was even allowed in the delivery room when his son was born. He said he is “forever indebted” to his surrogate because she gave him “the ultimate gift”.

The Bravo TV host certainly has shown his appreciation for this gift by his cute Instagram posts. Cohen has shown Benjamin looking at snow outside a window, Benjamin laying his head down on a walker with the caption “HE HAS HAD IT!”, and feeding Benjamin a bottle before getting on a plane while traveling for Thanksgiving. Though parenting can “feel overwhelming” sometimes, Cohen told People magazine that “when [Benjamin] looks back at me and smiles or laughs at something I say, everything feels right”.
