On Labor Day, rather than firing up the grill at home, Angelina Jolie headed out to lunch with her kids in West Hollywood. The 44-year-old actress, who was all smiles, treated Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, and Shiloh, 13, to a meal at Fig & Olive restaurant.
Jolie, who recently dropped her oldest son Maddox off at university in South Korea, got quite emotional as her firstborn left the nest. Yet on Monday, she seemed to take comfort in her remaining brood. Although twins Knox and Vivienne appeared to be elsewhere, the actress was happy to have her three teens by her side.
Last month, the family celebrated Maddox’s 18th birthday before his mom accompanied him to Yonsei University in South Korea, where he is majoring in biochemistry. The normally reserved actress opened up to fans at the airport, telling them, “I leave today, today’s the day I drop him off. I’m trying not to cry.”
Maddox was adopted by Jolie in March 2002. He was later adopted by Brad Pitt in 2006. Jolie recently told E! News that she struggled a bit after her divorce from Pitt in 2016. “I’m like everybody and… especially these last few years haven’t been the easiest, and I haven’t felt very strong. There’s something when you’re not feeling very strong, where you push yourself,” she said.

Luckily her work reminded her that she is resilient. Playing characters like Thena in Marvel’s The Eternals has “pull(ed) out every bit of strength” she possesses, she said. Jolie and Pitt have had a difficult divorce as they’ve attempted to come to a custody agreement. In the end, nothing has been formalized, but the couple has been much more civil towards each other recently and Pitt has been able to spend more time with his kids.
Although there have been many rumors lately as to who Jolie might be dating, nothing has been confirmed. Alleged boyfriends have included Bradley Cooper and Keanu Reeves, yet these speculations seem to be simply tabloid gossip. The actress, who famously met Pitt while he was still married to Jennifer Aniston, has kept her romantic life private since divorcing Pitt.
Despite rumors that she had ‘stolen’ Pitt from Aniston, Jolie has always maintained that their relationship blossomed after the two split. "To be intimate with a married man, when my own father cheated on my mother, is not something I could forgive. I could not look at myself in the morning if I did that. I wouldn't be attracted to a man who would cheat on his wife," she stated, when the couple confirmed their relationship in 2006, four months after Pitt divorced Aniston.
