It’s hard to remember that celebrities are people just like everyone else, and do normal things just like everyone else.
Recently, Anne Hathaway did a very normal thing by missing out on the premiere of her latest movie and instead spending her 37th birthday sitting outside with her growing baby bump. On Instagram, the Dark Waters actress shared a serene picture of her sitting in the sunlight with her hand resting on her belly. She also showed a picture of the presents she received thanked her family and friends for them. She clearly had a wonderful birthday.
Days before her birthday post, she wrote, “It’s for a great reason, but I was so sad not to get out to support @DarkWatersMovie with my buddies!!” It seems reasonable that she would miss out on a movie premiere, not only because she wanted to celebrate her birthday, but because sitting in a movie theater for several hours while very pregnant is a challenge. With the uncomfortable seats and awkward bathroom breaks, no one can really blame her for missing out on the premiere.
Hathaway did not dive into details about the “great reason” why she missed the premiere. However, by looking at her picture of sitting outside with her pregnant belly, it can be assumed that she was spending time with the most important person if her life right now: her growing baby.
Hathaway has shared her experience with infertility and understands the frustrations and emotional rollercoaster that comes with it. In July when she announced her pregnancy she said to reporters, “But a lot of people who are trying to get pregnant: That's not really the story. Or that's one part of the story. And the steps that lead up to that part of the story are really painful and very isolating and full of self-doubt. And I went through that."
Hathaway continued on to say she hopes to become a “sister” to someone who is going through the same trials she’s had to overcome. Hathaway is appreciating and loving this time with her baby, and by the looks of things, this baby could be arriving soon. A due date hasn’t been announced, and neither has a gender but her fans anxiously await for the arrival of her darling baby.
