Apple just announced a new iPad aimed at kids and schools.

The new tablet is 9.7 inches and is being described as “the most affordable iPad”. A rep for Apple said the new iPad works with Apple Pencil, as well as all other AR apps. Previously Apple Pencil was only compatible with the iPad Pro. In case you are unfamiliar with Apple Pencil it provides a "fluid and natural drawing experience with sensors that measure pressure and tilt so that users can take notes or illustrate in various apps” according to the official description.

This new product is aimed at students and it was built to withstand the destruction a kid can bring to any device. Not only does it come with augmented reality, which will take a child’s learning to the next level, but also the tablet was built for mobility and durability for students. The new iPad sports an aluminum unibody construction to sustain its durability.

There are a lot of other great features on the new cheaper iPad. The tablet will include Touch ID, an HD FaceTime camera, 10 hours of battery life, an 8-megapixel rear camera, LTE option, and Apple’s A10 Fusion chip. All of those items mentioned are much better quality than on any other iPad out there right now, based on what the company has released.

Apple fans know when a new product is released the price tends to be quite high. Well not in this case. Because the company has focused the new iPad towards kids and schools the price has been lowered in the hopes of being more reasonable for parents. It is $329 but if you want Apple Pencil that will cost you an additional $99. Also since the new tablet is aimed and kids and schools there is a cheaper price for schools. If a school wants to buy the new iPad the price is $299 and the Apple Pencil is $89.

The new iPad is available for order now and will be in stores next week. What do you think about the latest tablet from Apple? Will you be ordering one for yourself or your child?
