Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly chosen a day for their son Archie Harrison’s christening and apparently, it’s a day that has a significant meaning for the American-born princess. New reports say that little Archie Harrison will be christened on Independence Day, so that Markle’s friends from the United States can attend.

According to Express.co.uk, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be marking this very special milestone during the same day as the American holiday so that both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s friends and family members from near and far away can attend. It will be a day that everyone will most definitely remember.

While there’s no doubt that many high-ranking members of the royal family like Prince Charles, Camilla Parker-Bowles, Prince William and Kate Middleton will attend, there’s also a very good chance that Meghan’s loved ones from Los Angeles will fly in for the occasion. This will, of course, include Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland. Archie’s hip and yoga-loving grandmother who spent the first few weeks of his life with her and Meghan at Frogmore Cottage back in May.

There’s also a very good chance that Meghan’s best friend, stylist Jessica Mulroney will be there for the christening, along with her celebrity pals Serena Williams and Priyanka Chopra. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s good friends George and Amal Clooney might also be in attendance, too.

Unfortunately, there are a few grandparents who won’t be able to make the christening. The first one is Queen Elizabeth, as she has some previously scheduled royal engagements on her calendar that she needs to attend to. Also, it’s very unlikely that Meghan’s father Thomas Markle Sr. or any of the Markle family members will be at the christening. That’s because Meghan hasn’t spoken to her estranged father in more than a year after he failed to show up at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s royal wedding at Windsor Castle last year.

For Meghan Markle, the christening will mark her second public appearance since she gave birth to Archie back on May 6. The Duchess was on hand to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s birthday for the Trooping the Colours back in June.
