Drinking and driving is an extremely dangerous and stupid thing to do. This is common knowledge, yet people still continue to do it. While parents drinking isn't necessarily a bad thing, it becomes such when you go on the road while drunk. But again, moms and dads still drink and drive- even if their child is right beside them the whole time!
This was the case for 31-year-old Stephanie Davis, who was arrested for aggravated DUI after driving around with her three children in the car. Davis' 10-year-old daughter even went as far as to film her mother's drunk driving. In the video, the three children- who were all under the age of 15- yelled at their mother to stop driving before she caused an accident. It was after that when the 10-year-old called the police on her mother.
When Glendale, Arizona officers pulled Davis over, they found the mother of three staggering about outside her car. Her eyes were bloodshot and watery, her face was red, her speech was slurred and she was experiencing mood swings. She had a high odor of alcohol on her, and was also extremely unbalanced while swaying about.
"When she walked, she had to be supported by officers, and when she tried to exit the patrol vehicle, she fell down and had to be caught by officers," one officer wrote in the Maricopa County court documents.
When questioned, Davis would only confess to drinking wine that day, but refused to elaborate or say anything else to police. She also refused to perform any field sobriety tests, and was promptly taken into custody. A warrant was served to perform a blood sample on Davis'. As of now, the results have not been made public.
After her arrest, Davis was later released on her own recognizance. She is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, September 23rd for her case. It's unknown if her three children are still living with her, living with another family member or was taken in by CPS. Regardless, all we can hope is that the children will be okay despite this traumatic event.
