Pregnant singer Ashlee Simpson Ross is absolutely beaming ever since she and her husband, Evan Ross, found out that they have a baby boy on the way! Just last week, Ashlee and her adorable family revealed her baby’s gender by cutting into a blue and pink frosted cake. They found out that it was filled with blue frosting and sprinkles! Although Jagger-their four-year old daughter- was a little sad at first, everyone is excited for the new baby.
The other day on Ashlee’s Instagram Stories, she shared a video of herself in a fitted black dress that showed off her baby bump perfectly. She captioned the post with “Excited for this baby boy” with three blue heart emojis. In the background she played her song titled “Boys” from her 2008 album Bittersweet World. Ashlee has an older son, Bronx Mowgli, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz. It was reported that “Ashlee has been wanting another baby for a long time” and that she “always wanted a big family!” Ashlee and Evan announced on Instagram that they are pregnant again by holding a positive pregnancy test together.
Her sister and fellow musician Jessica Simpson has given her congratulations several times about the baby. She has commented on her sister’s posts by saying “I couldn’t be happier for my favorite person on the planet!!...This is hands down the most exciting news I could possibly imagine!”. Jessica has her own crew of children, Ace, Maxwell, and Birdie whom she’s had with her husband of six years Eric Johnson. Before this, Jessica was married to boy band member Nick Lachey in the mid 2000s.
Ashlee rose to popularity years ago with her hit song “Pieces of Me” and as a reoccurring character on the family show 7th Heaven. However, she went on a bit of a hiatus from producing music in 2012 and focused on her role as Roxie Hart in the Broadway play Chicago. It was during this time that rumors popped up that she and actor Evan Ross (Diana Ross’s son) began dating. They were married by August 2014 and Ashlee gave birth to Jagger in July 2015. Since getting together, Ashlee and Evan have collaborated together to write more music. They released a song together titled “I Do” in 2018, and they have mentioned that more songs from them will be coming soon.
We have not heard if the family has a name picked out for the little one just yet. so we’ll have to see if they will let us know or if we have to wait until the baby arrives!
