Ashley Darby of 'The Real Housewives of Potomac' has announced she is expecting her second child together with husband Michael Darby. The couple welcomed their first child together in July of 2019. Ashley made the announcement on social media on Tuesday.
In a post on her Instagram page, Ashley told her followers she cannot hide her “big belly” any longer. She says she is excited to share the news she is expecting her second child. Ashley shared a video saying the couple’s son, Dean, had an announcement to make. Then, Ashley reveals a photo of Dean wearing a shirt saying he is going to be a big brother with Ashley and Michael kissing in the background. Their second child is due in February of 2021. Ashley says she and her husband are beyond thankful to be adding to their family. Several of her Instagram followers congratulated the soon-to-be mom-of-two on her exciting news. According to the Daily Dish, the couple had Dean in July of last year. Now, their firstborn is going to be getting a sibling. The 32-year-old has previously said she wanted to have children while she was still young. The couple also took into account Michael’s age, which is 61. She says Michael wants to be around as long as possible for his children, so they knew they would have a second child as soon as possible after Dean.
Earlier this summer, Darby spoke with The Daily Dish via phone and talked about having more children. She knew more children would be in the couple’s future. She says Dean and Michael made it easy because they are wonderful and Michael is a great hands-on dad. In fact, if she could, she would have a football team, she revealed. But, she said out of respect for her husband, she will be okay with having two children. Back in June, the reality TV star said she was ready for a baby then. According to Bustle, Ashley first met her husband while she was working at a bar at age 22. She was talking to her manager in the main office when she saw Michael walk into the bar on the security camera. For her, the rest was history. The expecting mom said it was love at first sight.
Now, fast forward several years later, their family of three is growing into a party of four. Despite their age difference, the couple is thrilled to be growing their family, and look forward to the new adventures that will come their way.
