Supermodel Ashley Graham is quite the character. We’ve seen her personality shine as a model, spokeswoman and web series hostess. She has helped many women feel comfortable in their bodies, even when she didn’t feel comfortable in hers. Ever since becoming pregnant, she’s had to learn how to love her constantly changing body. Her pregnancy has been filled with laughs, tears, and every emotion in between. While interviewing with Vogue magazine back in September, Graham shared some of her thoughts about pregnancy and motherhood that every woman should read.

When eating breakfast with her interviewer Jonathan Van Meter, Graham explained the change of thought she had to make once she discovered she was pregnant.

“I’ve always had control over my body—when everyone else wanted to dictate what it should be, I took full control over it—but I had this life inside of me saying, It’s not yours anymore, it’s mine,” she explained.

While in the modeling industry, Graham has made it a point to promote a healthy body image. Though past agents told her to lose weight and change her body, she instead accepted her body and gained control of her career. Now that she's pregnant, she understands her body has another job: to take care of her baby.

Then Graham told Van Meter such a relatable anecdote about trying to handle pregnancy hormones. It’s very common for women who normally don't cry to have a meltdown over the simplest of things. Even celebrities who live the “high life” cry over everyday things like a sandwich.

“I was with Justin, eating an almond butter–and–jelly sandwich, and I took one bite and all of a sudden, I starting welling up. And then full-on crying! I was chewing and eating and sobbing and I was like, I DON’T KNOW WHY I’M CRYING BUT I’M REALLY UPSET THAT WE’RE NOT GOING TO BE IN THE NEW APARTMENT AND THE BABY IS GOING TO BE HERE!!!!”

Next, Graham mentioned something very profound about being a confident person. Though she wasn't directly talking about pregnancy or motherhood, it's still completely applicable.

“There’s nothing sexier than being your true, honest self. And the more you are, the more accepted you are, and the easier it is to navigate through success. I don’t have a persona. This is it. Just be yourself!” she exclaimed.

The interview only got better when Graham’s husband Justin Erwin joined her. They started talking about how as a couple they keep getting asked the same questions over and over. So of course, Van Meter did too. He first asked what she was having. The couple had a cute interaction as an answer to the question. Ashley started with, “It’s a boy....I don’t know anything about boys, so I’m so excited.” Then, according to the interview, “Justin chimes in: ‘She owed me a boy. What with all of this wonderful, divine, feminine energy she has around her 24/7, I want a little sidekick’”.

From the look of things, Graham has had a pretty typical pregnancy and is enjoying every minute of it- hormonal meltdowns and all. She and Erwin should feel confident that they'll be wonderful parents when the time comes. We can’t wait for their little guy to arrive!
