Ashley Graham is a model who is an advocate for body positivity and often speaks out about the need to accept one’s body. In addition to several magazines that she’s modeled for, as well as being a judge on America’s Next Top Model, Graham is also an author. In her book, titled A New Model: What Confidence, Beauty, and Power Really Look Like, she goes into depth about what it was like in the model industry as a plus-sized woman, and how she learned to love the body she has.

In August 2019, Ashley announced that she was expecting a child with husband Justin Ervin. Recently, she opened up about her pregnancy weight gain, declaring that she’s never felt better than she does now. The model posted a picture on her Instagram, where she flaunts her growing baby bump during a yoga session. As a woman who has shared her love and passion for working out, it’s awesome to see she’s still been able to keep up with her yoga classes throughout the duration of her pregnancy.

Along with this tranquil picture, Graham also wrote a special caption, stating “Throughout my pregnancy so far I’ve gained 50lbs. And the best part is, I don’t care! I have never felt better, and I am so thankful that my body and son have allowed me to be as mobile and flexible as I have been."

This is certainly not the only time where Graham has taken the opportunity to share her journey through her first pregnancy. In fact, earlier this December, the model shared the first glimpse of her on the Vogue 2020 cover, where she cradles her baby bump in an exquisite gold gown. Seriously, she looks like a goddess. Ashley then stated, “A VOGUE COVER!!!— celebrating inclusivity, mothers, pregnancy, and love — is so surreal.

There is no denying that Ashley’s influence not only in the modelling industry but just as a woman who has always been labelled as plus-size, is breaking barriers of what’s always been considered “normal” or “average.” Even Kira Stokes, a celebrity trainer, offered some wise words, where she points out that pregnancy is certainly not a “one size fits all” experience.
