It's official! The newest member of the royal family has a birth certificate. But it may be unlike any birth certificate that you have ever seen before.
Prince Louis is the third child of Prince William and Kate Middleton. His full name and title is as follows: His Royal Highness Prince Louis Arthur Charles of Cambridge.
Louis (pronounced LOU-EE) was born on April 23rd, 2018, at St. Mary's Hospital. He weighed 8 pounds and 7 ounces. The royal son 's name is of French decent. This has been the name of 18 kings of France. A regal name for the little guy, but check it out, the baby has no last name!
This same format exists with his two older siblings, as well as their parents. Under the heading "FATHER", the official document lists His Royal Highness Prince William Arthur Philip Louis Duke of Cambridge. Under "MOTHER", Catherine Elizabeth Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge. The official occupations of Louis' parents are listed as well, and they're quite unique. Mom's job is "Princess of the United Kingdom" while dad's job is "Prince of the United Kingdom".
Prince Louis' birth certificate, however, does differ from his siblings'. All of the text in both Prince George and Princess Charlotte's documents is handwritten, while Louis' is typed.
Another change this time around occurred, as Louis' name was not announced until four days after his birth. In the past, Prince William and Princess Kate have announced the name of the baby prior to the birth. But perhaps the royals are more like normal folks than we thought. Maybe they just needed a little bit of extra time to decide.
Queen Elizabeth II of England made a special trip, via helicopter, to meet Prince Louis, her sixth great-grand child. She brought along some flowers for the Duchess, and was dressed in her usual highly elegant attire.
The Queen's husband, Prince Philip aka His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, has been recovering from hip replacement surgery. It has been reported that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were hoping to visit him and introduce Louis, but Prince Philip was not feeling up to the task.
A royal source stated, “The idea of toy trains and three children was a bit ambitious. The Queen was very keen to meet her new great grandson and to see George and Charlotte, so when the Cambridge's couldn’t make it to Windsor, the Queen went to them".
Nice to meet you Prince Louis!
