Bear Brown has launched a series of allegations against the mother of his son, Raiven Adams, including that she was abusive towards him during the course of their relationship. The former couple has been on rocky terms since before the birth of their son, River, whom they welcomed earlier this year in March. Raiven has accused Bear of being absent during her pregnancy and also after their son’s arrival, while Bear says his ex-girlfriend is making it difficult to be a part of his son’s life.

On Friday, Raiven criticized Bear after he shared an image of River to social media. But in response, Bear had some harsh words about his ex. He took the opportunity to refute many of the allegations she’s made against him. In fact, he claims that Raiven is the one who’s abusive and has substance abuse issues. “It was Raiven who was abusive toward me and she continues to be so, by constantly [lying] about, I will not stand by and do nothing!” the Alaskan Bush People star wrote online.

Bear also accused Raiven of not allowing him to see their infant when he was born, writing, “I never did any drugs I never threatened her with a gun or anything else she has said I did. She didn’t even tell me until two days after River was born! It’s sad that someone I loved would treat me such a way! It’s heartbreaking!” Raiven, however, has launched similar allegations against Bear in the recent past. When she obtained a restraining order against Bear earlier this year, she claimed he had a cocaine problem and had exhibited “erratic” and “abusive” behaviour on several occasions.

In the end, however, Raiven had the court order dropped only days before her son’s birth. Bear made headlines for going on a camping trip during the same weekend his child was born. Raiven also claimed that he took weeks before meeting baby River for the first time.

Raiven and Bear are currently engaged in an ongoing custody battle. In March, Bear petitioned the court to establish the paternity of the newborn. His lawyer originally filed paperwork to disestablish paternity, though Bear later claimed it was a clerical error. In May, Raiven responded by filing paperwork for both custody and child support. The same month, Bear received confirmation that he is, indeed, the father of baby River. He took to social media to celebrate the good news, writing, “There was never any doubt, but in order for me to further get equal rights to parent, that is one thing I had to prove.”

The former couple’s latest custody hearing took place on July 1st but the issue remains unresolved. Raiven is requesting primary physical custody and restricted visitations for her ex-boyfriend, whereas Bear would like shared physical custody. Raiven is also seeking post-dated child support starting on March 9th, the date of River’s birth.
