Even though it doesn’t appear as though Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani will be making their relationship official anytime soon, it does seem like the country singer is enjoying his role as a bonus dad to the Stefani's three children. As a matter of fact, the country crooner seems to be earning cool points with Stefani’s kids as they recently joined him at an Ugly Dolls premiere.

According to Extra, Shelton admits that he might have had an ulterior motive when he invited Stefani’s three boys, Kingston, 12, Zuma, 10, and 5-year-old Apollo to the orange carpet with him. He told the site that all three kids were super excited for the movie and that the film has a great message behind it, too. Stefani shares her kids with her ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale.

The outing was a special treat for everyone, mostly because Shelton and Stefani don’t often get to spend much time together with all three of her kids. Stefani and Rossdale, who also lives in the Los Angeles area, share custody of their children.

Speaking to Extra at the Los Angeles event, Shelton said, “It’s a rare thing for Gwen and [me] to even get out at all. We don’t really get a chance to do anything. One of the two of us are working or the kids are in school — it just never works out for us to all go out. We get to do it about four or five times a year — this is one of them.”

Shelton was on hand to not only promote the movie, but also his single for the film, “Wallflower and Weeds.” He also does the voiceover work for a character named Ox, the one-eyed Mayor of Uglyville in the film. Shelton says that it’s been a great experience working on the film.

Speaking about the similarities he has with his character, Shelton joked, “He’s super ugly for one thing. He has a big belly hangin’ off him.”

Now as far as Shelton’s future plans with Stefani, it doesn’t look like the couple will be taking the next step in their relationship anytime soon. The couple met on the set of their singing competition show The Voice and have been dating since 2015. A source close to the couple has said that Shelton and Stefani feel "no pressure" to get engaged right now.
