Although Brett Young may have had the best performance at the CMT Awards this past Wednesday night, it was his pregnant wife, Taylor Mills, who stole the show.
In one of her first public appearances since announcing her pregnancy, Mills looked radiant as she rocked her growing baby bump on the red carpet before the awards show. Her baby bump was on full display in a figure-hugging, dusty rose dress, while her musical husband looked dapper in a blue suit with a black t-shirt underneath.
At the CMT Awards, Young and Boyz II Men took home the award for CMT performance of the year for their collaboration, “Motownphilly (From CMT Crossroads).” They also performed a rendition of their song at the show, leaving fans speechless.
Young and Mills were married this past November in a beautiful Palm Desert ceremony. It was only this past April the couple announced they are expecting their first child sometime this fall. They revealed the gender a few weeks later in an adorable social media post that featured Young hitting a ball with a baseball bat before it exploded into pink dust, confirming that the newlyweds are expecting a little girl!
While speaking to People, Young opened up about how unreal it was to feel his unborn daughter kick for the first time. “Life moves so fast right now that the sort of moment that the baby kicking brings you back to reality a little bit and you have a check moment,” he told the publication. His wife added, “It feels surreal. We’re starting to feel her move and we live for that. Each day we’re like, ‘Oh my god, she’s moving again.’ We’re so excited for the whole experience.”
Fans can expect this likely won’t be the last pregnancy for Young and Mills. Shortly after confirming their pregnancy, Young hinted that they both want a large family. “We have always shared the same heart for wanting a family,” the 38-year old said. “I love knowing that we get to give this little one amazing life, and I just can’t wait for the future ahead of us as a family.” His wife added that she knows the country singer will make an amazing dad, “Family is so important to both of us, so I don’t have a single doubt in my mind that he will be a very present and involved father.”
