Actress and model Brigitte Nielsen has given birth to her fifth child, at the age of 54. The star welcomed her newest addition, a baby girl named Frida, on Friday. According to People, the reality star and her husband, Mattia Dessi, welcomed baby Frida in Los Angeles. The pair told the outlet of their joy.

"We are overjoyed to welcome our beautiful daughter into our lives," they said. "It's been a long road, and so worth it. We've never been more in love." Brigitte isn't the first celebrity to give birth at an above-average age, with the likes of Janet Jackon giving birth to her first child at the age of 50. Although the couple has been talking about having children together since they first wed back in 2006, it's only just become a reality.
Neilsen managed to keep the news tightly under wraps before revealing her blossoming bump via her Instagram account last month, telling the world that her family was getting bigger.
The blonde beauty first came to prominence when she starred in Rocky IV and Cobra, alongside screen legend Sylvester Stallone. The two hit it off and married in 1985, before divorcing two years later. This was Nielsen's second marriage, her first being to Kasper Winding from 1983 to 1984. After Stallone, she wed Sebastian Copeland in 1990 before divorcing in 1992, going on to marry Raoul Meyer in 1993. The couple divorced in 2005. The star was then featured on the VH1 series Strange Love which documented her relationship with rapper Flavor Flav, later that year.
While some were quick to show their shock at Brigitte's happy news, other fans reached out to her to call her an inspiration, giving them the kick they needed to do what they wanted to do despite their age. Nielsen was quick to point out that you always have the right to do what you desire, and no one else in the world can make your decisions for you unless you give them the power to do so.
