Before Brittany Matthews and her fiancé Patrick Mahomes welcome their baby girl into the world, they are nesting first! The couple is expecting their first child together next year. As they prepare to become parents, they are getting organized! Matthews even gave fans a sneak peek of their baby girl’s nursery, too.
The 25-year-old showed off her daughter’s nursery, which is nearly finished, on Thursday on her Instagram Story. It’s the first time any of the couple’s fans have been able to see the nursery. The soon-to-be mom showed off a white dresser that had handles with sparkles in them on each drawer. Matthews told her followers they were the most beautiful handles for the “most beautiful baby girl.”
The nursery had a starry night theme that featured the moon and stars near the crib on the wall. There were also decorative pieces on the walls to match the theme with one saying, “Good night sleep tight” and the other “Love you to the moon.” Pink curtains could be found hanging in front of the window and behind a bassinet. The room also had a chair and stroller ready to go. And, of course, the room also featured a little bit of sports in it. According to Daily Mail, for instance, a small toy basketball hoop could also be found in the nursery for their baby girl to enjoy as she gets older. Mahomes is the quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, so the touch is fitting.
Before announcing the gender of their baby, Mahomes said he wanted his daughter or son to pursue whatever makes them happy. For him, he says that could be anything, from a basketball star, a doctor or a lawyer. He only hopes for his child to pursue what they love and to be the best they can be at it, according to PEOPLE.
Matthews originally announced she was pregnant on Instagram on September 29. She told her followers that they were taking a “small detour” to the wedding. A few weeks later, the fitness trainer also announced the gender of their first child. They used their two dogs to help reveal the big surprise. Their four-legged family members walked down a white runway leaving behind pink pawprints as Matthews and Mahomes changed into matching “Baby Mama” and “Baby Daddy” tops.
Matthews recently told her Twitter followers that she finally took out her belly button ring because of her growing belly. She said she had to use pliers to unscrew it, and called it a “sad moment.” Matthews and Mahomes have been together since they were teenagers.
