Busy Phillips is already thinking about her daughters’ future careers- and it sounds like she expects them to follow in their mother’s footsteps!

The celebrity recently opened up about how she won’t be surprised if her girls end up in acting, just like their famous mama. Busy has been married to producer and screenwriter Marc Silverstein since 2007. Together, the couple has two daughters: 11-year old Cricket and 6-year old Birdie.

While speaking to Us Weekly, Busy admitted that she “wouldn’t be surprised” if her daughters get into the world of showbusiness. “Those things kind of appear and I just am one of those parents that I would be happy to encourage my children to follow whatever passion speaks to them,” she explained.

Although she says she would worry about the downsides that come with the Hollywood lifestyle, at the end of the day, she just wants her girls to be happy with whatever path they choose. “Obviously the entertainment industry has its own challenges,” Busy elaborated. “But anything has its own challenges, so I just want them to live happy, full lives and be good people and learn to give back. All of the things that are important.”

Busy is best known for her successful career on television. She starred in Freaks and Geeks from 1999 to 2000 before moving on to Dawson’s Creek, which she remained a regular on from 2001 to 2003. More recently, the celebrity made waves for portraying Laurie Keller on the ABC show Cougar Town from 2009 to 2015.

Although the actress seems to have everything figured out when it comes to balancing parenthood with work, she opened up earlier this month about how difficult parenting can be, especially when it comes to working things out with her husband.

“Co-parenting with anyone is really tricky just because you grew up in two different houses,” the 40-year old revealed. “It’s never the things you talk about and plan. It’s always, like, when things go crazy and what your default setting is. I will just say that my default setting is a lot louder than my husband’s.”

At the end of the day, however, she and her husband have the same goal: to raise strong, independent daughters. "My hope is that Marc and I empower them by making sure that they feel as though their voices are heard, that we set appropriate boundaries for them,” she continued.

The mom-of-two added, “Whatever it is that they are passionate about or interested in, we show an appropriate amount of interest. We’re very open. We talk about everything in ways that are age-appropriate.” That’s what we love to hear!
