Cardi B welcomed her second child, a boy, last month. But recently, the singer opened up about her complicated delivery.

Last Thursday, the mom-of-two opened up about the subject on her Instagram Story, People Magazine reports. She began the video by explaining she wanted to address recent rumors that she’d undergone plastic surgery following her son’s arrival.

People have been giving me amazing compliments on my body,” she explained. “I think it’s because, right now, I got some amazing hips due to my gorgeous son because he was sitting so low.”

The singer added that usually when a baby is carried low, it causes the hips to spread. Cardi said that’s why she’s looking different post-birth, not because she’s had work done.

She specifically denied having lipo or a tummy tuck, adding “you cannot do surgery after you give birth, especially me.” Cardi clarified what she meant, explaining she had a complicated labor experience with her son, calling it a “crazy ass delivery.” “I lost so much blood, guys,” she added.

The “Bodak Yellow” singer went on to show off her postpartum body. In the clip, Cardi said her “skin is still loose,” and pointed to her lower stomach to reveal her “little pouchy-pouch.”

Cardi also criticized the expectation that women should snap back post-pregnancy. Urging her followers to “take your […] time,” she said it’s more difficult with multiple kids.

It’s really hard dealing with kids, especially when you do two kids after your give birth,” Cardi continued.

This isn’t the first time Cardi has discussed how she’s adjusting following her second child’s arrival. Last week, she tweeted that she’d been particularly emotional in recent weeks, adding she’d been “crying for no reason,” Revolt reports. “Can’t wait till these weird postpartum hormones completely leave my body,” she added.

In September, we reported that Cardi had welcomed her second child with her husband, Migos rapper Offset. She confirmed the news on Instagram by sharing a photo of herself and Offset holding their newborn baby. Cardi added his birthdate, “9/4/21,” as well as a blue heart emoji.

So far, the couple hasn’t shared any photos featuring their son’s face. They have yet to reveal his name.

Cardi previously announced she was pregnant at the BET Awards in June. Joining Migos onstage for a performance of their song “Type S**t,” Cardi’s baby bump was on full display in a black bodysuit. She later shared images from a maternity photoshoot to her Instagram.

Cardi and Offset have been married since 2017 when they wed in a private ceremony. Their nuptials were later revealed to the public in 2018, shortly before they welcomed their first child, daughter Kulture Kiari.

While the couple share two children together, Offset also has three children from previous relationships.
