Trigger: Mention of a child's death.
After being acquitted of murdering her two-year-old daughter Caylee Anthony, Casey Anthony tried to live a quiet life in South Florida. After all, people wanted a piece of her because she managed to escape what seemed like a surefire murder conviction. While the public's outrage was understandable, it was also understandable that Casey would want to hide from said outrage for her and her family's own safety.
But what you may not know is that in recent years, Casey- who's now 33 years old- is trying to go out in public more often. It seems as though she wants to put her daughter's death and the subsequent trial for it all behind her. But that's not all she may be planning on doing. One source close to the notorious woman says that she's now considering having another child.
"She feels like her biological clock is ticking. She knows she’s getting older. She’s not the young girl who everyone saw on trial," the source revealed. "She’s in her 30s, wondering what to do next, and hoping that she can find some meaning in her life."
This is a slight change to what Casey admitted in a 2017 interview, where she said, "If I am blessed enough to have another child — if I’d be dumb enough to bring another kid into this world knowing that there’d be a potential that some little snot-nosed kid would then say something mean to my kid — I don’t think I could live with that."
But 18 months after this interview was published, another source revealed that Casey had changed her mind on the matter. In fact, she does want another child now. Moreover, she's seriously considering what she wants her future to be.
"Marriage, family, the white picket fence. In some ways, that’s very appealing to Casey," the first source added. "She’d want things to be less dysfunctional than the family she had growing up, but she likes the idea of stability."
As for her controversial past, Casey doesn't seem all too concerned by it. She and her mother- Caylee's grandmother- used to wear necklaces that contained the toddler's ashes. But neither wear these necklaces anymore, signifying that they've moved on from this tragedy.
"It’s ancient history, as far as [Casey] is concerned," the source said. "It was a very dark period in her life, and she is a different person. So she’s ready for something new. If that includes children, she’s ready for that."
Speaking of, both Casey's mother and father seem okay with the idea of their daughter having another child despite her past. Her father said as much in a 2018 appearance alongside his wife on Dr. Oz.
"If she is granted a chance to have another child, I hope that child is strong, grows up to be a worthwhile part of society and, the person that she has the child with, I hope they are going to love her and that child immensely. I hope whatever life she has left that she makes something positive happen in her life," George Anthony explained on the talk show.
Back in 2008- over 10 years ago- little Caylee was reported missing by her grandmother after she'd been missing for over a month. The search for the two-year-old was massive and made both national and international news. Unfortunately, Caylee's remains were discovered in a wooded lot less than a mile from Casey's home. She was put on trial for her daughter's murder in 2011, but she acquitted of both murder and manslaughter. However, Casey was convicted of four counts of lying to police during the investigation.
After having served her prison time and hiding out for years, it looks as though Casey is determined to live something of a normal life. Whether she actually goes and has another child remains to be seen. But there's no doubt that there will be a public outcry if this happens, given her seemingly inescapable past regarding her deceased toddler. All anyone can do is sit back and wait to see what ends up happening.
